Chapitre 147: Chapter 147

[Third Person's PoV]

As the group entered the room, they were immediately ambushed by monstrous creatures with grotesque animalistic features. The cacophony of screeches, growls, and chittering filled the air.

A large human-centipede hybrid screeched loudly, its multiple legs skittering rapidly across the floor as it charged towards them. Spider-Kat was the first to react.

"This thing is so gross-looking," she muttered in disgust. Swinging from the ceiling, she delivered a powerful kick to the creature, sending it sprawling back with its elongated body tangling grotesquely in mid-air.

As it crashed to the ground, she landed gracefully beside it and unsheathed her iron claws, slashing ferociously at its writhing form.

Nearby, a fly-headed man with wings buzzed erratically, attempting to bypass the group. Hawkeye, with his sharp eyes and steady aim, pulled out a tranquilizer dart arrow. Tracking the fly-man's rapid zigzagging flight pattern, he released the arrow.

It struck the fly-man in his human-like torso, and he plummeted to the floor, immediately succumbing to the tranquilizer's potent effects. "When Nightwing mentioned this had the power to take down five elephants, he wasn't kidding," Hawkeye remarked, impressed, as he took another arrow from his quill.

Natasha's sharp eyes spotted a creature with the head of a Doberman and a body covered in brown and black fur attempting to flee. She pulled out her pistol and fired a series of electric bullets, each shot crackling with energy.

The Doberman-man turned, snarling, and lunged at her with powerful legs, aiming a crushing fist. Natasha expertly rolled out of the way, closing the distance to engage in close-quarters combat.

Using its momentum against it, she attempted to pin it down, but its superior strength forced her to resort to the electroshock function in her gloves. A few well-placed shocks, and the Doberman-man convulsed before collapsing.

Scarlet-Spider's eyes lit up with excitement as she spotted a towering man with the head of a bull.

"Is that a minotaur!? Awesome!" she exclaimed. Swinging from the ceiling, she latched onto its massive horns and used her momentum to bring the beast crashing down.

The minotaur grunted and struggled to rise, but Scarlet-Spider quickly mounted it, unleashing a barrage of punches until it lay unconscious beneath her.

"Do I get EXP for this?" Scarlet-Spider muttered to herself with a smirk. She looked up and saw Ghost-Spider poised, her hands glowing with an icy blue light.

Scarlet-Spider's four metal spider limbs emerged from her back as she charged at a spinosaurus hybrid. As she pulled back her fist, her spidey-senses flared, warning her of danger. She quickly webbed down and out of the way, narrowly dodging the creature's long, powerful tail. The tail whipped past her with a crack, smashing into a nearby console and sending sparks flying.

The General, a towering figure with a mix of human and animalistic features, turned and roared at Scarlet-Spider in Russian, "Leave us alone, you pest!"

Scarlet-Spider ignored him, focused on the battle. "Ghost, I'll take care of this one and quickly focus on the sabertooth!"

"No need!" Spider-Kat appeared mid-air, silver spider legs extending from her back. She landed gracefully in a cat-like pose. "Leave this little kitty to me. You do what you have to do."

Ghost-Spider slightly pouted. "And here I was hoping for a good fight. Good luck, you two!" She shouted as she sprinted further into the lab.

Dr. Valkov, the sabertooth hybrid, immediately guessed Ghost-Spider's intentions. "No–" he shouted, trying to pursue her.

"Hey, this is a cat-on-cat fight! Don't get distracted," Spider-Kat teased, leaping toward Dr. Valkov. He snarled and met her attack head-on, their claws clashing in a flurry of sparks. Spider-Kat's agility kept her a step ahead, dodging his powerful swipes and retaliating with precise strikes from her iron claws.

Meanwhile, Scarlet-Spider faced off against the spinosaurus hybrid. The creature swung its massive tail again, but she deftly vaulted over it, using her metal limbs to propel herself forward. She landed a solid punch to its jaw, followed by a series of rapid strikes. The hybrid roared in pain and anger, snapping its powerful jaws at her. She webbed its mouth shut, somersaulting over its back and landing a kick that sent it staggering forward.

The General, with his military training and newfound instincts, charged at Scarlet-Spider. He moved with surprising speed, his animalistic features enhancing his combat abilities. Scarlet-Spider braced herself as he lunged, blocking his strikes with her metal limbs and countering with swift punches and kicks. The General roared in frustration, trying to overpower her with brute strength.

"You're a tough one," Scarlet-Spider grunted, narrowly avoiding a crushing blow from the General. "But I've faced worse." 'No I haven't'

The General snarled, his eyes blazing with rage. "You underestimate us, little spider."

Scarlet-Spider smirked, dodging another attack and webbing the General's feet to the ground. "I have every right to, you're the villain in this story after all."

Spider-Kat and Dr. Valkov continued their fierce battle. Dr. Valkov's sabertooth strength was formidable, but Spider-Kat's speed and agility gave her the upper hand. She ducked under a vicious swipe and delivered a spinning kick to his side, following up with a flurry of slashes from her claws.

"You're pretty tough for someone ancient," Spider-Kat admitted, breathing heavily.

Dr. Valkov growled, blood dripping from a wound on his arm. "And you're a formidable opponent for a mere spider."

Spider-Kat grinned. "Flattery will get you nowhere, kitty."

With a final burst of strength, she vaulted over him, landing behind him and wrapping her metal legs around his neck. She tightened her grip, cutting off his air supply until He thrashed around, doing everything in his power to stop her. Which resulted in a few injuries for her but after a while he slumped to the ground, unconscious.

Ghost-Spider, meanwhile, had made her way deeper into the lab, facing minimal resistance. She quickly found what she was looking for: The DNA Splicer sitting perfectly on the table.

She gave it a quick scan as she tapped the side of her ear, "Alright Aria, tell me what I have to do?"

Back in the main room, Scarlet-Spider had finally subdued the spinosaurus hybrid, webbing it to the ground. The General, now immobilized, glared at her with defiance. "This isn't over," he spat.

Scarlet-Spider shrugged, panting slightly. "For now, it is." She turned to see Spider-Kat approaching, having successfully defeated Dr. Valkov.

"All clear here," Spider-Kat reported, dusting herself off. "How's Ghost?"

"She's on it," Scarlet-Spider replied, glancing toward the lab's interior. "Let's make sure Hawkeye and Widow are doing alright and help them finish subduing everyone."

As Scarlet-Spider and Spider-Kat engaged their foes, Black Widow and Hawkeye moved into action, facing their own set of monstrous, animal-human hybrids.

Black Widow spotted a creature resembling a humanoid crocodile, its scales glistening menacingly under the lab's harsh lights. It lunged at her with a guttural roar, jaws snapping. Natasha dodged to the side, rolling and coming up in a fluid motion. She unleashed a series of precise kicks and punches, leveraging her advanced martial arts skills. Each strike was calculated, aiming for vulnerable points on the creature's body.

She pulled a smoke grenade from her utility belt and tossed it at the crocodile-man. The smoke enveloped the creature, momentarily obscuring its vision. Natasha used the distraction to her advantage, darting in and out of the smoke with a series of rapid, debilitating blows. With a final kick, she sent the creature crashing into a stack of crates, incapacitating it.

Nearby, Hawkeye was engaged in a fierce battle with a monstrous hybrid that combined the features of a lion and a human. The creature's muscular form and sharp claws made it a formidable opponent. Hawkeye, not missing a beat, quickly assessed the situation.

He nocked a high voltage arrow, launching it with pinpoint accuracy. The arrow struck the lion-man's shoulder, releasing a burst of electric charge that temporarily paralyzed the creature. It staggered, growling in frustration.

Without missing a beat, Hawkeye switched to a net arrow, firing it at the creature. The net expanded and ensnared the lion-man, its struggles slowing as it was tightly bound. Hawkeye then pulled out a Cryo arrow and fired it at the creature's legs, further immobilizing it with a quick-setting freezing solution that formed ice on contact.

As the lion-man roared in frustration, Hawkeye's keen eyes spotted another threat: a large, gorilla-like beast with human features. He swiftly selected an explosive arrow and took aim. The arrow soared through the air, striking the gorilla-man in the chest. The resulting explosion created a shockwave, sending the beast crashing into a wall.

Black Widow, sensing more movement, turned to see a pack of smaller, wolf-like hybrids closing in. She dropped her remaining smoke pellets and a couple of flashbangs, disorienting the wolves with the blinding light and thick smoke. She moved with purpose, taking down the disoriented creatures with a combination of high-speed strikes and tactical maneuvers.

As the room filled with the sounds of combat, Hawkeye continued to fire arrows, each one tailored to the specific threat. He used a Cryo arrow to encase an approaching human-reptile hybrid with ice, while a concussion arrow blasted another away from Natasha's fighting area, giving her a moment to regroup.

Natasha, seizing an opportunity, used her grappling hook to swing across the room, landing next to Hawkeye. She saw him struggling against a particularly aggressive hybrid with the body of a human and the head of an eagle. The creature clawed and pecked at him, but he managed to keep it at bay with a smoke arrow.

"Need a hand?" Natasha shouted over the din of battle.

"Always!" Hawkeye replied, aiming his Net Arrow at a group of smaller bug-like hybrids approaching from behind.

Natasha leaped into the fray, using her agility and combat skills to distract and disable the eagle-human hybrid. She moved in close, delivering a series of powerful strikes to the hybrid's torso, using her environment to her advantage. She grabbed a nearby pipe and swung it with precision, knocking the hybrid to the ground.

With a final, decisive blow, Natasha used a combination of a stun baton and quick, focused strikes to incapacitate the eagle-human hybrid.

As the last of the hybrids fell, Natasha and Hawkeye regrouped with Scarlet-Spider and Spider-Kat. The lab was a battlefield littered with fallen creatures, and the remaining threats were subdued or contained.

"All clear," Natasha reported, wiping sweat from her brow. "Let's safely secure everyone and check in with Ghost-Spider."

"Agreed," Hawkeye said, holstering his bow and checking his quiver. "Time to wrap this up."

Scarlet and Kat were both impressed by how quickly and efficiently they managed to take down the group of Hybrids.

"You guys are actually pretty good," Kat praised.

"We can say the same about you" Hawkeye nodded towards them.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man and Nightwing walked with Fury leading the way. "Are you sure they're here?" Fury asked.

Spider-Man nodded. "Our little hacker found a phone call between the General and the leaders. He wanted to show them the Dinosaur project to get more funding."

Nightwing sighed. "I still think they're pretty stupid. There are literally movies about why what they're planning is a bad idea."

"When it comes to power, men will forget all warning signs," Fury said. Spider-Man and Nightwing both nodded in agreement.

They soon got into an elevator and began going down.

There was an awkward silence between them.

"So, Avengers initiative, huh?" Spider-Man asked, breaking the silence.

"I'm beginning to get really sick and tired of you," Fury sighed.

Nightwing sighed. "He has that effect on people."

"Dude, you're supposed to be on my side. What the hell?" Spider-Man retorted.

"So, what is this Avengers initiative, anyway?" Nightwing asked curiously.

"You want to do it, eyepatch? It is your idea, after all," Spider-Man said.

Fury looked ahead. "It is an idea to gather a group of extraordinary individuals to form a team and protect the Earth from threats that are, in other words, out of this world. A last line of defense against the unknown and those that aim to destroy us."

"Like aliens?" Nightwing asked in amusement, interpreting it as a joke.

"Aliens are real, by the way," Spider-Man informed Nightwing as the elevator door opened.

They stepped into a large, fancy room. At the back of the room was a long table with five men sitting down, facing the elevator with unpleasant expressions.

Nightwing stared at Spider-Man with his mouth agape.

"Fury," they said in English with a thick Russian accent.

Fury immediately turned to look at Spider-Man. "Motherfucker, You see that? That's how you're supposed to address me."

"With hate?"

For his own peace of mind, Fury chose to ignore the comment and focus on the men in front of him. "Gentlemen, we have a lot to discuss…"
