Chapitre 11: Chapter 11
A lady with a beautiful face, black eyes, pointed nose with red lips and blond hair was gently sipping wine while she glances through a photo album, a smile is etched on her face as her mind wandered from one thought to another. The photo album consists of the images of just one person, someone who she had fallen for and was prepared to give her heart to no matter the cost. That person was her Alpha.
A girl suddenly entered the room and shook her head at the sight of her friend’s daydreaming expression. “Rose! Snap out of it!” She snapped her fingers a few times in her friend’s face, bringing her back to reality.
“Daphne, what was that for?” Rose asked as a frown suddenly appeared on her face, she didn’t appreciate her friend’s intrusion.
“I won’t interrupt you if it wasn’t important.” Daphne immediately sat down besides Rose with a worried expression on her face.
“What is wrong?” Rose carefully sets the album aside.
“I heard some rumors,” Daphne looked around a few times, after confirming that they were all alone in the house, she continued. “The Alpha is planning a Luna introduction ceremony, it would happen soon.”
Unexpectedly, Rose’s eyes brightened up as if she had just heard the best news. “Really? Did he finally notice me?” She inquired in a whisper.
“Alpha Axel must have noticed that you are intelligent at the same time, strong and capable enough to stand by his side and he might have started nurturing desires for you- but I heard something else.”
Rose gently placed a hand on her cheek as she reminisced a glance that Alpha Axel had given to her when she had met him in person. In her perspective, he must have been completed overwhelmed speechless by her beauty. Rose had withdrawn herself from pack interaction and carefully nurtured herself to being a strong werewolf and a great beauty. A lot of pack members were besotted by her appearance and appreciated her strength, some even claimed that she was going to be the next Luna of the Blood Moon Pack. She had great intellect, a calm demure coupled with her fairy-like appearance. Because of that everyone in both men and women, young and old sang her praises even in her absence.
But no one knew that underneath that calm and graceful face is a vicious and evil lady that would not hesitate to get rid of anyone that stands between her and her ambitions…. But then this would be revealed soon enough.
“It is also known to everyone in the pack that there is a chance that the Alpha might find his mate soon.”
Those words were like a million arrows that pierced Rose’s heart, her hands were clenched on her gown. How could she forget about this?. She knew how the bond between fated mates are unbreakable, second to none. She had to find a way to seduce him and get him to accept her before she lost him to another lady. “How could I forget that? As long as she doesn’t appear, he would have no choice but to choose me as his mate.” She announced with a great confidence and a smile appeared on her face.
Daphne shook her head, she was well aware about her best friend’s obsessive nature and desire for Alpha Axel and even feared for her. “I also heard that the princess is in the pack.”
“Princess Davina?” The smile on Rose’s face was wiped clean once again, everyone knew of the only child of the royal family. “Why is she here?”
“I don’t know but I’m afraid that the Alpha might want her to be his mate.”
“NO WAY! HE CAN’T BELONG TO ANYONE ELSE! I WON’T ALLOW IT!” Rose lost composure, suddenly stood up and yelled out in anger.
“Calm down, I might be wrong but I also heard that the king and queen would be here in a few days. It might just be an alliance.” Daphne said in an attempt to calm Rose down, her previous outburst was frightening.
“You are right,” Like a switch, Rose completely calmed down and took her seat once again. She returned to being like a demure and innocent girl but the vicious expression in her eyes could not be hidden. “I have to meet this princess and make sure that the Alpha is not attracted to her. He has to belong to only me!.”
A twisted plot was beginning to be formed in her mind, she had gone through great pains to get rid of any girl that might catch the Alpha’s attention and this princess would not be different.

A buzzing sound, the chirping of birds and the soft whoosh as wind blows on the trees were all in her head. Davina suddenly opened her eyes abruptly and sat up on the bed, she glanced at the windows, at the same time, the door which was unlocked. She noticed that the space besides her was empty and let out a sigh. Ever since he brought her back, Alpha Axel had not shared a room with her, he would only wait till she fell asleep before he left.
Davina slowly walked out of her room, she moved as quietly as she could, an art she had perfected over years of staying in her previous pack. She was finally able to get out of the house without alerting anyone, she didn’t even notice the tattoo that was glowing on her wrist. The sun was not out yet, it was a few hours past midnight and the moon was bright in the sky. It’s warm glow fell on her figure, giving her comfort like a mother hugging her child.
She started walking through a path, she needed to think about the events of the past few hours. One thing was sure, She was weak. This would be her biggest flaw in her attempt to win Axel’s heart. She could see that he had already accepted her as his mate and won’t hesitate to save her from danger but it doesn’t mean he loved her.
Her surrounding was quiet but Davina took no notice of this as she kept walking deeper into a route that she believed would lead her somewhere. She was still walking and didn’t realize on time that she had wandered into the thickest part of the woods, she could no longer hear the chirping of birds, she felt an ominous and threatening feeling in the area ahead of her, she was beginning to feel frightened and really scared. Wind blew past her in a whoosh, someone was watching her, the person was almost invincible but she could feel the pair of eyes on her. She was in an almost perfectly round clearing surrounded by trees whose branches twisted and twined together. The trees were silhouetted in moonlight, so bright that it made everything look almost silver and casted shadows on the dirt and ground
“Hello, is someone here?”. She asked in an attempt to calm herself . Davina internally blamed herself, it hasn’t been a day since she was last abducted but now she had wandered off, who knew how her mate would react once he found out.
A guy of about twenty stepped of the shadows, with the silver lights provided by the moon, she saw his pale skin and red eyes. His features was beautiful, it was a rare kind of beauty that was both enchanting and captivating. She locked eyes with this stranger and a cold shiver runs down her spine. Her senses told her that this man was dangerous, Everything about him spelt DANGER, she had to run but she had nowhere to run to. He smiled at her
“You look tasty, you’re lost right?” He grinned at her but the smile didn’t reach his eyes.
Davina was taken aback by his suddenly appearance and his first sentence rang the warning bells in her head. “Who are you?” Her words managed to come out in a whisper but he heard her.
“I’m a legend, I’m a myth, something you dogs think doesn’t exist. I’m the magic story you’ve been told. And you are now my pet” he answered in a haughty tone and deemed himself worthy enough to take control of her. “And you’ll be safe under my control”
Davina knew she was hypnotized and walking on cold thin ice. She blamed herself a million times for leaving the house “What are you?” She saw his red eyes, his fangs, his perfect beauty. She easily guessed what creature she was before but refused to acknowledge it.
“Pet, I thought you know. I guess you’re just playing dumb or you lack adequate brain cells required for your logical thinking. I’m a vampire, the creature of the dark and you should be honored that you are going to be my next meal”.
“I’m sure you must be mistaken here, so I advise you to leave this very moment or the conflict between us will not end well.” Davina said with a tone of voice that wasn’t exactly hers. Yes, once again she was pushed to the passenger side of her body. This time, she didn’t bother trying to connect with whoever that was in charge; Davina assumed that it was her wolf.
“How dare you threaten me? You are just one and I’m enough to deal with you. What can you do? Mutt.” The man said with disdain.
“ I can’t murder you this very moment but I can just as easily tear those eyeballs from your skull and feed them to you. So I advise you to leave before I lose my temper” ‘Davina’ took up a stance that showed that she wasn’t prepared to go down without a fight even if she was weaker.
“How dare you!” The man had a sardonic smile on his face. He was also prepared to attack, in his clan he was feared and treated with respect, this was the first time was ever rude to him and he wanted to drain her of her blood before feeding her to crows.
Davina could see the desire the man had to kill her, she silently prayed for someone to help her. In her mind, she heard a scoff before a soft but frigid voice said. “Weakling, at my peak I could easily deal with him. Hurry up and improve your strength.” Then it went silent as if it couldn’t be bothered by Davina.
“Perhaps my mate is not making herself clear here, this is a threat. So please leave or you better pick who will be reading your eulogy because you’re going to die” A cold voice announced, Axel appeared from behind the vampire, his approach was just like he was taking a walk by the pack.
The vampire turned around sharply to deliver a surprise attack but Alpha Axel was faster as he grabbed him by the throat. “You are as stupid as you look. You recall that the bite of a werewolf can kill a vampire and did you forget that I am one? Say hello to the devil on my behalf” With that, he ripped out the vampire’s still beating heart.
Davina stood still, she didn’t dare to move with the fear that she might anger Axel who was so indifferent to killing, this was the second time he had killed someone in her presence and there was no was she was going to easily get used to it. She soon realized that he wasn’t called the Demon Alpha for nothing. Silence permeated the woods, there wasn’t even the songs of nightingale or the rustling of bushes by the rodent, it was as if every living creature was aware that the a demon was present.
“Why were you wandering out here?” Alpha Axel clenched his hand, crushing the heart into mush but he doesn’t turn around to look at Davina so she doesn’t have an idea of what he might be thinking.
“I needed somewhere to think.” She answered calmly.
“About what?” Alpha Axel listened carefully for any change in the rhythm of her heartbeat.
“About what is expected of me as your mate and the Luna of this pack. I don’t want to let everyone down.” She whispered the last part of her sentence, unaware that her words were tugging at the soft strings in Alpha Axel’s heart. Axel couldn’t describe the pain he felt when he returned to find her missing once again.
