As a member of Anbu, Sasuke was rather familiar with the secret pathways into the village- which are usually specifically for Anbu use.
So it didn't take long for him to reach his compound with Karin. Luna on the other hand returned to the Forest Of Death once Sasuke recalled the Summoning Jutsu.
For most people, bringing in a random person into Konoha was simply not feasible. But Sasuke wasn't like most people.
After graduating from the academy he is already considered an adult, which means that he is now truly the patriarch of the Uchiha clan- something he couldn't be called before despite inheriting the businesses in Konoha.
Is this currently merely a title with little to no power?
Yes. Yes, it is.
But there are still quite a few benefits that come with it.
One of which is the ability to allow entry of individuals into Konoha, whilst acknowledging that all the actions of this guest will be borne by himself.
This was a concession from Hashirama for all the clans in Konoha. Through this channel, clans can recruit talented foreign ninjas. These ninjas will either be used to guard clan members in wartime or protect certain industries owned by the clan
The luckier of these recruited ninjas would be able to marry into the clan, allowing for their offspring to be able to practise the secret Jutsu of whatever clan they had joined.
It was through this that the various clans in Konoha were able to continue existing without disappearing during the three ninja wars due to a lack of clan members.
Of course, this privilege wasn't exactly used by either the Hyuga or Uchiha for rather obvious reasons- but that didn't mean they couldn't invoke this privilege.
However, despite all this Sasuke still didn't allow Karin to show herself off as an Uzumaki. This is due to him mainly worrying about the implications that will bring to both her and Naruto- as the village might make a few more 'extreme' decisions in the future considering that they now have a backup Jinchuuriki.
"This will be your room for now, it is a guest room. My room is down the hallway to the right, if you have any problems you can just tell me and I'll try to sort it out."
Sasuke brought Karin to the former guest room and showed her around it.
"Thank you..."
Karin mumbled in reply, her crimson eyes boring into Sasuke- unnerving the young man.
'Why is she looking at me like this?
Oh...?!'
As Sasuke tried to think about what Karin was doing, her personality from the anime sprung into his mind. Previously, Karin was much less 'talkative' than her anime counterpart and Sasuke thought it was due to her young age.
But Sasuke now realises he might have to deal with her more 'fanatical' side once she gets more used to her environment here.
'Surely not?
I thought her persona from the anime was due to her horrible childhood experience combined with her life as Orochimaru's test subject.
I think her personality should be on the more normal side now...'
"I'm going to have to go report back to Anbu and then I'll have to check something out there. I'll return in the evening and make us both some dinner, for now just make yourself at home."
Sasuke then placed his Anbu mask back on his face and swiftly made his way to HQ.
Little did he know, back at home a certain someone was lying on her bed with her face cradled in her hands as she giggled to herself.
'Ooh, how do I go about repaying him?
How about...?
Maybe I should be the one to cook dinner for us tonight? Yeah, that's it! A delicious homemade meal to show my gratitude. I bet he'd love that.
But I don't know how to cook...
It should be fine.
It's the thought that counts...right?'
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After telling the receptionist the 'unique' code of entry, Sasuke made his way through the complex network of tunnels with his footsteps echoing in the tunnels.
He soon found himself at the HQ and arrived in front of the booth that gave him his previous mission, where the man noticed him once again.
"You've completed the mission?" The man asked Sasuke.
"Yeah," Sasuke replied.
"Good. For normal missions, we would require some sort of confirmation of completion. But that's normally due to their complexity.
For induction missions, this isn't required.
Now you've successfully become an Anbu Operative it should be time for your first mission.
An Anbu member's first actual mission will always be given by the Hokage who will also tell them what type of missions they will carry out in the future and assign them to teams if that is what suits them.
I've been told, that you will be given your first mission in one week.
All you need to do is go to the Hokage's office in the morning and you will be debriefed there."
The man continued, as he explained to Sasuke what he would be doing soon.
"Understood.
Thanks."
Sasuke thanked the man for telling him this and soon made his way to his second destination as his thoughts once again began to drift.
'I guess I have this week to myself to rest.
But who am I kidding?
Every moment I breathe I feel like I'm finding more anomalies with this world and I have no answers to them yet.
I'm kind of being forced to strengthen myself even more...'
Soon Sasuke stood before a section he wasn't completely familiar with, the Hospital Section. This place was for those who have been injured on missions to recover but it is also a place where interested Anbu could learn medical knowledge and techniques.
The hospital stood as a graceful wooden structure with a single-floor design and was rather large.
Instead of conventional windows, the hospital opted for Shoji screens. These screens served two purposes as they not only ensured patient privacy, it also allowed some light to diffuse through them which would allow for there to be sufficient lighting in the building.
Sasuke entered the building and then asked the receptionist by the desk, "Excuse me, where would I need to go if I wanted to learn medical jutsu?"
The receptionist, who this time was a gentle young man in his early 20s, replied, "You can just follow me, I'll lead you to where we have our medical jutsu repository. You can read up on information there regarding medical Ninjutsu and knowledge. If you want to put it into practice I can allow you to shadow one of our medical ninjas and learn from them."
His words came as a shock to Sasuke.
'I'm somewhat surprised how there's no actual difficulty in getting permission to learn this.
Then again, it's not like there are many medical ninjas in the first place here.
Hell!
The only reason they exist in Konoha is due to Tsunade being adamant about it. Even then medical ninjas are few and far between, mainly due to a lack of interest as well as it being a very arduous path.'
"Thanks, but I think I'll just read up on the information here for now."
He then replied to the man guiding him, as Sasuke didn't think he'd require someone to teach him this as he could rather easily learn this with his shadow clones and could practise this on his many 'acquaintances' in the Forest of Death.
'Wonder how they're all doing after I practised that Soul Dissociation Seal on them...'
Sasuke was then led to a room by the man. It was very similar to the academy library where there were numerous bookshelves within the room, their aged wooden frames silently guarding the books within them.
"I'll be off then. You can read up on anything here, but make sure not to damage any of the books." The receptionist cautioned Sasuke briefly before heading back to his desk at the front.
As Sasuke was left alone in the room, he glanced about and realised that he was all alone there.
Upon realising this he summoned about 50 shadow clones, as any more and then the room would be far too crowded. He then made one of the clones stand by the door and stand as a guard and use his perception to discover if anyone was coming this way.
Sasuke and his clones then all went around and grabbed a book as they activated their Sharingan and began to sift through the contents of the book.
There were many books in this library but the one Sasuke took himself was called, 'An Introduction To Medical Jutsu'.
'Medical Jutsu is an incredibly complex field, where a practitioner will not only need to possess immense chakra control but will also require extensive knowledge of human anatomy.
This book will introduce you to the basics...'
Time passed quickly as Sasuke found himself immersed in this ocean of knowledge. However, he realised there was still someone at home waiting for him and recalled his shadow clones.
Knowledge from the clones soon rushed into his mind, he had to take a moment to organise these new memories in his head before he made his way out of the room.
After bidding the receptionist farewell, he left Anbu HQ and made his way back home where he seemed to pick up the smell of food.
He soon found Karin in the kitchen making some food, a little confused Sasuke called out to her.
"Karin?"
"Sasuke? You're back! I know you said that you would make dinner once you got back but I feel a bit bad if you did that, so I thought I could try to make some food.
You can just wait a bit, the food will be ready soon."
Karin replied, a smile stretching across her face as she busied herself in the kitchen.
"Sure?" Sasuke responded, a bit unsure of Karin's culinary skills.
But he realised it would be fine to let her have a try, as she might take it as a new hobby which might keep her from feeling bored at home when he isn't around.
It didn't take long for the food to be placed on the table, it was some Tempura with Tentsuyu on the side.
To Sasuke's surprise, it truly looked rather good.
Upon taking his first bite of the meal after dipping it in the Tentsuyu sauce, Sasuke's eyes brightened a bit.
"This quite... good?
Is this your first time cooking this?"
Sasuke asked, surprised by how good the food tasted.
"Yeah, in Kusagakure after my mother died I didn't have the opportunity to cook.
The village would give me meals rather consistently every day as they didn't want me to die from starvation for obvious reasons...
I just made this from my memory of how my mother used to cook, is it good?"
Karin replied to Sasuke as shyness coated her words as she wasn't used to receiving any praise after her mother left her side.
She then began to happily munch on the food on the table along with Sasuke, the dinner table enveloped in a comfortable yet quiet atmosphere.
For the first time in several years, Sasuke's home began to radiate with a newfound vitality...
