Chapitre 61: The Fun Never Ends For A Spear Boy

(Cao Cao POV)

The festivities were in full swing as hundreds of those floating fairy lights handed out the drinks and food from the kitchens above. Conversations were being held between the perspective groups, with Morgan watching it all from her throne, which Barghest and two others guarded.

One was dressed in a vibrant pink dress with black highlights, and the other was a smaller girl with white hair wearing what looked like sci-fi armor. Her piercing yellow eyes never left my form.

"It seems you have an admirer disciple," Scathach says as she dines on some of the haggis and other herbs, which seemed good to her. But I knew my cooking was better.

"Master, I do not believe she is admiring me. She is checking me for weaknesses."

"What is the difference, disciple ?" Master, anyone who tries to flirt with you is either insane or dead.

"The difference is that I can sense her loyalty to the Queen, but to me, it shines like a shining pillar compared to the others. Also, you can sense it as well: She is of a draconic origin." Scathach simply shrugs as if this were a normal thing.

As she eats her meal, Valerie adds, "The world is much older than you think. Cao, it wouldn't surprise me that a dragon eventually got with a human or simply decided to create a child. Dragons are one of the strongest beings in the world for a reason. For it is through their will that they can impose upon reality and make it their canvas."

I gave Valerie a weird look as she smiled at me smugly and said, "What, having access to the grail doesn't only allow me to manipulate souls? You know, I have forgotten more than most people will ever know. Besides, it doesn't seem like she will harm us, and worse comes to worse, I send her into the hat."

And she's back.

I return to my own meal as Titania asks me, "So what shall be your next move after leaving this place, Lord God Slayer?"

Placing my utensils down, I looked at the woman and replied, "Well, I have to deal with a couple of things, but the most important is dealing with a certain organization before they can get up to some tom-foolery."

"You must be referring to that Chaos movement I have heard whispers of. Yes, even we in this realm have heard of the movements of that organization, but I heard they had a certain setback due to a broken Alliance in Japan. Did you have anything to do with that?"

"No comment Lady Titania." My reply makes her chuckle as she looks at the other table and frowns.

Following her look, I checked with my senses and saw the Fae king Oberon staring daggers at us.

"Relationship troubles, my lady?" My question makes Titania sigh in exasperation.

"Sadly, it is mostly because I refuse to follow tradition and remain married to Oberon. The problem is that due to his whimsical nature, he would be the most charming man in the world one day, and the next, he would be a veritable trickster and annoyance. I enjoy more consistent beings. When I asked to divorce him at the last meeting of the lords and ladies, it may have embarrassed him greatly. He never got over it, it seems." She would then look back at me with a smile that never seemed to leave her face.

"Well, I am not one to judge. Although I must ask, how did the other fae kings and queens pass?" My question was met with an almost empty stare as Titania seemed to debate with herself mentally.

"That is something even I am not entirely sure of. Growing up, it would just talk to us that one day, we Fae kings and queens simply die, and I did not ask questions. I am satisfied with the peace and security we have. Curiosity does kill the cat, after all." Something to ask the Queen later, then.

Scathach, on the other hand, finished her food and gave Titania a rather disagreeing look as she said, "I would believe the opposite, Titania, as it is almost a duty of sentient beings to think and to question if we allow ourselves to remain stagnant it would lead to the death of all."

Titania simply looks out to the skies behind the castle and says, "I, too, thought the same, but I do not wish to argue with the Queen Of Shadows. So, agree to disagree?"

Scathach narrows her eyes but nods reluctantly as Valerie cleans the food particles off her face with a napkin. After doing so, she looked at me and said, "Hey, Cao. Thanks for the vacation from the Land Of Shadows."

Smiling back at her, I pat her head as she leans into it, and I say in return, "Anytime, Valerie, the last thing I want to do is make it think that you're stuck in one place. Freedom is the privilege of all sentient beings, after all."

"Shouldn't it be right, Cao Cao?" Valerie would ask as I sighed in acceptance.

Shaking my head, I answer, "While the line does say right instead of privilege in words like this, true freedom is a privilege, which is to the strong or the intelligent. There are beings out there that could destroy entire universes in seconds. And to most, they would not even bat an eye at the deaths of millions should they inconvenience them. I am no different after all."

Valerie shakes her head in refusal, but I divert the conversation by asking, "Titania, are the festivities just a dinner, or is there something more?"

The woman would nod enthusiastically and say, "Yes, there is, as it is customary that the fairy knights battle beasts captured by the Queen. It should be an interesting bout, to say the least. "

Scathach looks slightly happy about that as Valerie wonders if they would fight leprechauns. Titania gives Scathach a dry look, and the witch suddenly finds her empty plate a much more interesting thing to look at.

Valerie looks depressed at the lack of leprechauns, and while I am tempted to create one, Valerie must learn that life is filled with disappointment, so I pat her on the back as she looks into the sky.

But before Valerie could pray for the leprechauns, I felt a tap on my shoulder. As I turned around, I saw a man with silver hair and a long, flowing blue robe. I immediately wanted to smack this man into space as he smiled at me.

"Hello there, foreign visitors. I am Oberon, one of the rulers of this realm. I would welcome you all, but it seems that Titania has already done so." I could feel the vitriol behind this man's words, but I smiled and said.

"Well, I can definitely say that Lady Titania has been very welcoming. Now, I assume you have not walked over here to introduce yourself, Oberon?"

"You could say that I am here for a little proposition. I assume Titania has told of the upcoming fight; I propose you challenge the fairy knights after their bout. It would be quite the show, would it not." He seeks to embarrass me and prove that I am a fraud, huh?

Sadly, I am not Sukuna for JJK, so in response, I ask, "Is that allowed? We are but guests here, and does the final decision not rest with the Queen?"

Oberon's smile dims slightly as he says, "Well, the Queen is very generous to foreigners allowed in this realm, and I do not see why she will not allow you to fight her knights. It would be an amazing spectacle. Us fae have not seen anything new for a while now. But if you do not wish to do so, then that is your right. Now, I must return to my table. It was nice seeing you again, Titania, and I am always available for you." he then flies over to his table and sits down among his merry men.

"He seeks to bait you, disciple. It's almost cute how intelligent he thinks he is. Honestly, it is a win-win situation for us as well. Those fighters of the Queen are powerful. They are nowhere near your level of strength. But maybe that is his plan to embarrass them. Such reasons are why I hate dealing with schemers." Scathach sighs in tiredness as Titania seems almost ready to explode in rage, but I just grip her hand on the table, and she stops shaking.

"Don't worry about it. Oberon has no power over us. He just wants to believe he does. Let it go." Titania looked back at me and nodded, taking a deep breath.

"Thank you, Lord God Slayer. I almost lost my composure for a moment." Understandingly, I nodded and let go of her hand. I sensed Oberon's rage, and I hid an amused smirk.

"Speaking of Oberon, has he done anything strange recently?" I ask as Titania goes into deep thought.

"Well, I have heard that he has started procuring more items from the outside world, but fairies often do that when bored, so no one has noted it. Other than that, no." Well, that is fairly harmless on its own unless you were me.

"Do you suspect him of something disciple?" I give my master an amused glance, and she smiles in response as we await the next part of the party.

The melee would not be for another hour, so I would ask Titania many questions regarding the fae and their realm while Scathach studies the architecture of this place.

Valerie, on the other hand, eagerly awaits the fight, as she wants to see what monsters the knights shall fight. While I could spread my senses and tell her what monsters they were, I did not want to spoil her or myself, for that matter.

Yet, while we spoke to each other, I had always noted how the Queen's gaze never left our table. The look in Morgan's eyes did not escape me especially.

In addition to her knights, all of whom wanted to fight my master except the one dressed in pink, she wished to see if my master or I had any new fashion to share.
