Another day dawned at Hogwarts.
After breakfast, Harry, Ron and Hermione made their way to the classroom where they were to be taught Defence Against the Dark Arts by the professor who had helped Harry on the train during the Dementor attack.
Arriving at the classroom, they found empty seats waiting for Professor Lupin.
Footsteps were heard as the new professor entered the room. "Good morning, students. I hope you're all ready for today's lesson," Lupin said as he took his seat at the front of the room, smiling warmly.
"I hope you all have your books because we're going to be studying dark creatures and how to defend yourselves if attacked," Lupin began to explain the lesson, until he noticed a student with her hand raised. "Miss?"
"Granger, Hermione Granger, Professor," she introduced herself.
"Was there something you wanted to know Miss Granger?" Lupin asked.
Ever since the incident on the train, Hermione had been haunted by the image of the cloaked creature that had attacked Harry. "Professor, the Dementors... how can we protect ourselves from them?" she asked, revisiting the unpleasant memory of that day.
Lupin sat down and explained the nature of Dementors and how the Patronus Charm was one way to ward them off. "They are cruel guards from Azkaban, the prison for wizards. Their presence here provides an extra layer of security, but they are dangerous to everyone. They feed on happy memories.
"That's terrifying," Hermione said, her eyes wide.
"But why are they here at Hogwarts?" another student asked.
"The Ministry believes Sirius Black may be approaching the school, and the Dementors are being used to try and catch him," Lupin explained.
"How can we use the Charm?" Knowing that there was a way to fight the creatures, Harry, who had been silent until then, asked the professor.
Lupin knew he had piqued the interest of his friend's son by mentioning the spell. "Young Harry, this spell is still too advanced for you to learn, but don't worry. The teachers will defend the students in the event of a Dementor attack.
Ron, Hermione and Harry exchanged nervous glances as the lesson continued.
"Now that the subject has been explained, today I will introduce you to another dark creature that you must learn to defend against," Lupin continued with the lesson.

{Hogwarts Corridor}
The corridors of the school echoed with the excited chatter of first years, all eager to learn their first spells.
Nathaniel would be teaching his first spells class to the first years of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, where there wouldn't be much to worry about, as according to the expected syllabus he would only be teaching them basic spells such as Lumos, Wingardium Leviosa, Alohomora and others.
Basic spells, yes, but they were often needed in various situations of danger and could be a way to save someone's life or their own.
As he entered the classroom, a winter breeze seemed to accompany him, causing the students to shiver, but they were still eager, ready to absorb all the knowledge their new professor had to offer.
"Good afternoon, students," Nathaniel greeted with his usual stoic and cold demeanour. "Today we're going to delve into the basics of magic with some basic spells: Lumos and Nox. The Lumos spell allows you to create light at the tip of your wand, while the Nox spell extinguishes it."
With all the grace one might expect from him, he explained the movements and correct pronunciation of the incantations, before demonstrating the perfect execution of the charms.
The students watched intently as he performed Lumos, which illuminated the room, followed immediately by Nox, which extinguished the light. "I want each of you to try it," Nathaniel commanded. The students became excited, holding their wands and concentrating on the movements he had taught them.
The first results were mixed. Some students managed to produce a faint light, while others could barely get their wands to glow. One student performed well and achieved the expected result, Melissa Carter, a Muggle-born student from Ravenclaw House.
"Five points to Ravenclaw," Nathaniel announced in his cold voice.
At the end of the lesson, some students were beaming with joy and satisfaction, but others still couldn't perform the spell. Nathaniel emphasised the importance of continued practice.
"Today was just the beginning," Nathaniel said robotically. "Lumos and Nox are basic, but there is much more to learn.
And with that, the class was dismissed.
After the students had left the classroom, he reflected on the progress they had made today, and how he could improve the basic curriculum of the lessons the school required the students to learn.
"In these times, it would be better to teach them the Protego charm" he thought. Even if such a spell was a bit advanced for the first years, it wouldn't hurt for them to start practising.

{Dumbledore vs. Grindelwald}
The Protego charm is one of the few defensive spells that does not require altering the surrounding terrain.
Another example of a defensive spell would be the Protego Diabolica, created by Gellert Grindelwald, a famous dark wizard who fought an epic battle against Albus Dumbledore.
At the first moment the Dark Lord used the charm in public, a young wizard with white hair and blue eyes could be seen behind him, apparently covered in ice, fighting against the forces of Light led by Dumbledore. Apparently older than Nathaniel now, he used a variety of ice-related spells to trap and eliminate the wizards who attacked him.
'Those times are gone,' Nathaniel said, coming out of his thoughts as he prepared for the next lesson he had to teach the third year students. Where Harry, Ron and Hermione would be present.
More One!!! Grindelwald OMG...
