Kurtis POV

While I was still talking, trying to make Noah see reason, I saw Lucius slip out of the room. I could tell the guilt was gnawing at him. I could feel it deep in our bond. Excusing myself from Noah, I made my way back to the room we were staying.

We had spent the night together. Me, him and Emilia. When I opened the door, I saw Lucius gathering weapons and supplies. His movements were quick – as though he was in a hurry to leave. I could tell he was desperate to make amends for his mistakes. Lucius was perfection in form.

Dealing with this was a huge blow to him and I could understand.

"What are you doing, Lucius? Where do you think you're going?" I asked.

Lucius didn't look up from what he was doing. "I'm going after Jade and Jared," he said, his voice tight with determination. "I'm going to find the real Selene. Don't worry, I don't need soldiers this time around, I can handle it,".
