Chapitre 198: Chapter 198 : Orion and Daphne
Daphne wandered through the Hogwarts grounds, her eyes scanning from the sky for any sign of Orion as she was flying on her broom. Orion after the incident was never seen.
While Rose was taken away by Professor Lupin for some reason, she was able to sneak out to find Orion.
It took her a long time but after not finding Orion anywhere, the only thing which She could do was to leave the castle altogether and use her Broom look for Orion from the skies. And finally, she did spotted Orion perched on the roof.
"Orion, what are you doing up there?"
Orion who was finally taking a little rest to time to process all information he got from Merlin and he himself figured something out, suddenly opened his eyes and turned to her with a strange face. Not sure what himself what he was thinking. Honestly, he didn't want to talk with anyone right now.
But Daphne was here already so Orion just sent a smile to her, gesturing to the expansive view spread out before him, as if he was here for that. "Just taking in the scenery," he replied, his eyes sparkling with mischief. Though Daphne saw the tension behind that smile.
It's just that she thought that the tension was something related to what happened earlier, she had no idea that the scales of both situations were way too high.
From destroying the castle wall to directly destroying the entire world.
"Well, it really is a good spot. You come here often ?" she asked, though the fondness in her voice was evident.
Orion didn't say anything just nodded, though he did really come here when he felt like it but not often by any means.
They talk a little, usually the pointless things like how he was responsible for the sudden increase in their appetite, both her and Rose. Him responsible for making them sleepless all this time at night.
Their body can't take him anymore after he finishes with them.
There were too many double-meaning words in that sentence to even fix it. Orion just smiled and didn't point out.
He might have teased her as unlike Rose, Daphne here actually understands the dark humour of his, yeah the GreenGrass princess is not as pure as she seems but Orion currently was not in the mood.
Right now his mind just couldn't take that extra effort to come up with extra bullshit to keep his Gojo personality going.
Hell, it was getting old anyway so he started playing Kento Nanami.
This means to tone down the nonsense to a minimum and comes directly to the point.
"Hey, Daphne, I've been meaning to ask... why haven't you said anything about the incident in Defense Against the Dark Arts class?" Orion after taking a long breath, making sure that he is reprogramming himself to be more straightforward, asked.
Raising an eyebrow Daphne replied"Oh, you mean the part where you blasted a hole through the wall and became a greater danger than both of the dark lords as you have somewhat similar power with no control.
Turning you into a walking time bomb?"
Orion smiled, it almost felt like he somewhat switched roles with Daphne here, usually, it's her who puts reason in a situation like this. Now she was talking more like him. "Yeah, that part."
"Well, I figured you must have had a good reason for it. Besides, I've seen you pull off some pretty impressive spells before, unlike others. Both me and Rose are quite sure what you are capable of. You just don't pull out power like this and lose composure," Daphne replied with a shrug.
She said it like she almost expected something like this to happen sooner or later.
Orion at this just chuckles "You're too smart for your own good princess. But honestly, it was a complete accident. I was just startled and well, things got a bit out of hand."
Daphne at this obviously rolled her eyes, it really would be an understatement to say that he was startled by the image of Death aka Grim Reaper. He wasn't alone, the entire class was frozen and stunned at that time.
And there are still a few kids who were shivering after remembering that horrible image.
"A bit out of hand? I'd say that's an understatement. You nearly gave poor Professor Lupin a heart attack, I saw his face back then, it almost felt like he was facing the dark lord himself." Daphne laughs to lighten the situation.
Earlier Orion would have immediately picked up on this but Orion this time just smiled a little bit before going back to his serious face.
He really didn't feel anything about destroying that poor wall or blasting that Damn Boggart. It was the future which was making him worried.
After this day knew that it was time to take things seriously.
Orion laughs a little before saying. "Yeah, I definitely owe him an apology. But hey, at least it made for an interesting class, right?"
Daphne rolled her eyes "Interesting is one word for it. I'd say chaotic is more accurate." she said but more than that was observing the facial expression of Orion.
He was smiling but there was no 'I don't give a fuck attitude on him'. Daphne felt that he was thinking something. Felt that there was much more than just that wall's destruction.
Then there was also the fact that Orion feared the Grim Reaper, the question is how he even know about that kind of being in the first place.
Orion didn't reply after that, he was actually feeling a little relaxed when he felt Daphne sitting next to him.
Daphne playfully nudges him when there is no reaction from him "There is something in your mind, I know it. But I also know that you ain't gonna tell me.
You are always like that.
You know we can help you ?" Daphne said with a little serious face.
There is no way in hell Orion planned to explain this to her or Rose if not absolutely necessary.
So Orion just smiled and slightly extended his hand towards the girl's hand.
"No promises that I can change that princess but I can try to improve," Orion said with a smile.
Daphne on the other hand was taken aback at the affected touch.
"I am sorry, I know that I am worrying both you and Rose. I promise that I don't want to do something like that, it's just that even knowing about this could be dangerous for both of you." Orion said with a smile as he unlike usual didn't get up immediately like he used to after quickly teasing both the girls and running away.
He got a little close to her and quickly placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Like saying he got this and she doesn't have to worry about a thing.
And this was the first time Daphne felt this strange feeling from Orion. Only one word could describe this.
Dependable.
Well seeing the boy so close, Daphne thought about that kiss she had with him earlier. She thought about just leaning a little more to get that again.
It was clear that this idiot wouldn't take action on his own.
Daphne shook her head and smiled. This was not the time was the only thing in her mind.
"That's all I can ask for. Just... be careful and ask for help if you....?"
But before she could complete her sentence, Orion wrapped his hands around her and only said this.
"Thanks for being here for me. You might don't know but you already have helped a lot. Just by being here," Orion smiled.
This was a genuine smile.
[Ah, did I come back at the wrong time] Merlin who suddenly appeared ask. His learn-heavy atmosphere was gone.
