Chapitre 119: The Doll is a Good Judge of Character

"So," An old lady drawled, leaning her weight on one hand on Eternity's newly designated table. "How'd you get hired as Mister Holz's secretary?"

"Did you sleep with him?" Another lady chimed, this time considerably younger than the other but still significantly older than Eternity.

The first lady swatted the second one on the arm, but she continued.

"Or did you sleep with the brother instead?" She asked crudely. "Since, after all, there are some allegations about Mister Holz's sexuality…"

'Evan was right,' Eternity laughed wearily, tucking a lost strand of hair at the back of her ear. 'People just can't help but question his orientation in this office.'

"Neither," Eternity answered as calmly as she could, not wanting to sound offended even if their words were clearly humiliating. "I got hired through sheer hardwork."

Which was false, of course.

She did get the job because she's sleeping with Evan.
