She groaned and lifted her head.

Had he jumped forward to catch her, or had she simply fallen on him naturally?

"Ow..." He groaned.

"A-Are you okay?" Isabelle leaned back and got onto her knees.

Phoenix's arm flopped to the side. "Uh...I think so?" His voice sounded weak. Strained. Like he'd had the breath knocked out of him.

Her fingers touched his forehead. "I...um. Sorry. I fell..." She mumbled apologetically.

He slowly sat up with a strained wheeze, then groaned in pain as he clutched at his ribs.

"You're hurt."

"Yeah. I guess so." He shrugged.

"Why did you save me?" She questioned curiously.

"Huh. I dunno." His response was casual. Nonchalant. As if jumping beneath her when she fell was nothing. "But it was scary."

She looked up at the window and swallowed.
