Five hours later...
The hallway was busy with workers, engineering crews, technicians packing up their equipment and loading them in vans for the road to the airport. Ziza was just heading to the bus when someone called her.
“It seems there have been slight changes in your transport arrangements.” Kadir, her road manager, nodded at something or someone over her shoulder.
“Changes?” Ziza turned around and found the answer to her question. Walking down one of the stadium’s hallways towards her were two burly, tall men in dark suits. Each wore an earpiece in one of their ears.
Bodyguards.
Ziza immediately recognised one of them. Majeed, a guard who usually accompanied Rafiq almost everywhere he went.
Did this mean...?
Majeed strode with purpose towards her as the other one stopped a safe distance back and surveyed his surroundings. Presumably for any signs of trouble, or maybe it was a force of habit. Whichever it was, Ziza didn’t have long to think about it.
