It's just the first chapter but for now it looks promising. The chemistry between the two main characters seems to work well. Might be just a matter of preference but I think it'd be better if you could find a way to "tell" more their relationship rather than show, if you know what I mean. Sometimes you insisted a bit too much on "they know what the other think because they're childhood friends". I don't think that you need to really express that they know each other so well that often, just one or two times should be enough. Show it with conversation or actions between the two. Other than that, can't wait to see where it goes and how the title of the novel comes in the story. Good luck !
