Having been through a horrid experience with Kurosuke and his men, Mai and Yuri were practically two buckets of tears when they saw Midori again.
"Uff... Careful, my stomach," Midori had to warn them before they squeezed the baby out of her.
"I am sorry," Ryouichi said helplessly. "I should have been there for you."
While comforting her crying maids, Midori turned to look at Ryouichi, a wry smile playing on her lips
"No, Ryouichi-san, they were a group of rebel samurais. I would hate for you to get hurt for protecting me."
Ryouichi did not have any self-defense skills. The same went with Akiyama, who charged through the front door, panting and wild-eyed, the moment he heard of Midori's return.
"Midori-san!!!"
His face, devoid of a single drop of blood, contorted in desperation as he clawed at Midori's upper arm.
