With their efforts proving fruitless for the time being, Robert and Piper decided to rendezvous with Sico and MacCready to share their findings and formulate a new plan of action.

As Piper and Robert approached the back side of the stage, they spotted Sico and MacCready waiting patiently near the weak spot in the fencing.

Piper: "Looks like you two found something."

Sico nodded, his expression determined as he gestured towards the opening in the fence.

Sico: "We did. This seems like our best chance to get inside unnoticed."

MacCready: "But we'll need to move quickly and quietly. We don't want to alert anyone."

Robert: "Agreed. Let's make sure we're all on the same page before we proceed."

The group huddled together, discussing their plan of action and assigning roles to each member.

Piper: "I'll keep watch while you guys slip inside. Once you're in, I'll cover our retreat."

Sico: "MacCready and I will scout ahead and try to locate Emogene. Robert, you and Piper stay close and be ready for anything."

With their plan in place, they steeled themselves for the risky endeavor ahead. Each member knew that finding Emogene was crucial, and they were willing to do whatever it took to bring her home safely.

With their roles assigned and their determination steeled, the group silently made their way through the weak spot in the fence and ventured into the heart of the cult's compound. The air was thick with tension as they moved cautiously, keeping to the shadows to avoid detection.

Piper remained vigilant, scanning their surroundings for any signs of trouble, while Sico and MacCready took point, leading the way deeper into the compound. Robert followed closely behind, his senses alert for any unexpected obstacles or threats.

As they navigated through the dimly lit corridors and makeshift structures, they encountered several cult members going about their activities. The group avoided confrontation, opting instead to remain undetected as they pressed onward in search of Emogene.

As they explored the room near the stage, they discovered another door, securely locked, presenting a potential barrier to their progress. Without hesitation, Sico stepped forward, his fingers deftly reaching for his lockpicking tools.

With practiced precision, Sico manipulated the lock, his concentration unwavering as he worked to overcome the obstacle before them. The tension in the air was palpable as his companions watched anxiously, their hopes pinned on Sico's skillful expertise.

After a few tense moments, there was a satisfying click as the lock yielded to Sico's efforts. With the door now unlocked, they cautiously pushed it open, revealing what lay beyond.

As they stepped into the room, their eyes adjusted to the dim light, revealing a modestly furnished space with a bed and other pieces of furniture. Their attention was drawn to a woman sitting on the edge of the bed, her expression calm yet weary.

Sico approached the woman, his voice low and cautious as he spoke.

Sico: "Excuse me, ma'am. Do you know where Emogene Cabot is?"

The woman's gaze met Sico's, her eyes reflecting a mixture of resignation and determination.

Woman: "I am Emogene Cabot."

Sico and his companions exchanged surprised glances, taken aback by the revelation. They had expected to find a young woman, not someone older, and the realization left them momentarily speechless.

Sico: "I… I apologize for the confusion. We were sent to find you by your family. They're worried about you."

Emogene's voice resonated with frustration and anger as she spoke, her words echoing the resentment she felt towards Thomas and the cult that had ensnared her.

Emogene: "It's about time my brother sent someone to find me. I'm sick of this place and Thomas—all he does is preach and preach."

Her tone turned more intense, her eyes flashing with indignation.

Emogene: "Thomas locked me in here because I wanted to leave, but he doesn't want me to go. He's obsessed with me, and he won't let me break free."

Sico and his companions listened intently, their resolve strengthening as they heard Emogene's plight. It was clear that they needed to act swiftly to liberate her from the clutches of the cult and its leader.

Sico: "We're here to help you, Emogene. We won't let Thomas keep you prisoner any longer. But we need to act fast and get you out of here safely."

Sico: "Emogene, forgive me for asking, but why do you appear older than Jack, even though you're his younger sister?"

Emogene's expression softened, her gaze distant as she revealed a long-held secret.

Emogene: "Jack hasn't told you yet? Our family has a unique secret. There's a vial that he created, capable of granting immortality. We've been using it for generations, and as a result, we've lived for over a hundred years."

Sico and his companions exchanged stunned glances, processing the weight of Emogene's revelation. The existence of such a potent elixir explained the Cabot family's prolonged lifespans and the peculiar circumstances surrounding their search for Emogene.

Sico: "That's… remarkable. Jack never mentioned anything about this. We'll need to discuss this further, but for now, our priority is getting you out of here safely."

As Sico absorbed the implications of Emogene's revelation, a thought occurred to him—one that could potentially unravel the mysteries surrounding the Cabot family's longevity.

Sico leaned in close to MacCready, Robert, and Piper, his voice a low whisper tinged with urgency.

Sico: "Guys, think about it. The vial or serum we retrieved from the raiders that stole them… What if that's the same vial that made the Cabots immortal?"

MacCready's eyes widened in realization, the pieces of the puzzle falling into place.

MacCready: "It's possible. That would explain why the raiders were after it in the first place. We need to investigate this further."

Robert and Piper nodded in agreement, recognizing the significance of Sico's insight.

As the group contemplated the implications of Sico's revelation, a noise from outside the room disrupted their thoughts. With heightened senses, they peeked outside and spotted Thomas accompanied by several cult members, making their way towards the room where they were hiding.

Realizing the danger of being discovered, they acted quickly, quietly closing the door and swiftly concealing themselves behind the furniture in the room. Their hearts raced with anticipation as they listened to the approaching footsteps, their breaths held in tense anticipation.

The sound of the door creaking open filled the room, followed by Thomas's voice echoing through the corridor.

Thomas: "Emogene, my dear, are you in here?"

Emogene remained silent, her expression a mask of determination as she braced herself for whatever might come next. Meanwhile, Sico and his companions remained hidden, their presence concealed as they waited for the opportune moment to make their move.

As Thomas's voice echoed through the corridor, the tension in the room reached its peak. With a shared nod, Sico, MacCready, Robert, and Piper prepared to ambush their adversaries.

As Thomas and his followers entered the room, the group sprang into action with swift and coordinated precision. Sico and MacCready unleashed a barrage of gunfire, catching the cult members off guard, while Robert and Piper moved in for close combat, dispatching them with calculated strikes.

In the chaos that ensued, Thomas attempted to retaliate, but he was no match for the combined strength and determination of Sico and his companions. With a final blow, Thomas fell to the ground, defeated.

With the immediate threat neutralized, Sico turned to Emogene, his expression grave yet determined.

Sico: "Emogene, it's time to go. We'll lead you to safety."

Emogene nodded, her eyes reflecting a mixture of relief and gratitude as she followed Sico and his companions out of the room, retracing their steps through the compound's corridors.

As they made their escape through the same path they had used to infiltrate the compound, they remained vigilant, knowing that their journey was far from over.

As they made their way through the dimly lit corridors, the group's senses heightened, acutely aware of the danger lurking around every corner. The sound of their footsteps echoed softly against the walls as they hurried towards the exit, Emogene following closely behind them.

Suddenly, a commotion erupted from behind, the distant shouts of cult members reverberating through the narrow passageways.

Cult Member: "Brother Thomas is dead! The killer must be in this place! Search them!"

Sico and his companions exchanged concerned glances, realizing that they had little time to spare. With the cult members hot on their trail, they quickened their pace, their hearts pounding with adrenaline as they navigated the labyrinthine corridors.

Every shadow seemed to conceal a potential threat, and every creaking floorboard threatened to betray their presence. They moved as silently as possible, their senses sharp and alert, determined to evade capture and ensure Emogene's safety.

As they neared the exit, the faint glimmer of moonlight seeping through the cracks in the walls offered a glimmer of hope. With renewed resolve, they pushed forward, their footsteps echoing with determination as they raced against time to escape the clutches of the cult.

As they finally reached the weak spot in the fence where they had entered the compound, a wave of relief washed over Sico and his companions. They could see the driver waiting for them with the Humvee, its engine idling in anticipation of their escape.

Without hesitation, they rushed towards the vehicle, their movements swift and purposeful. MacCready immediately took his position behind the mounted machine gun, his trained eyes scanning the surroundings for any sign of trouble.

As they climbed into the Humvee, the tension in the air was palpable. They knew they had to act quickly before the cult members closed in on them. Just as they were about to make their getaway, they heard the unmistakable sound of approaching footsteps and shouting voices from behind.

Sico: "MacCready, open fire! We need to create a distraction!"

With precision and speed, MacCready unleashed a barrage of gunfire towards the oncoming cult followers, forcing them to take cover and giving the group precious moments to escape.

Sico: "Go! Drive!"

The driver wasted no time in obeying Sico's command, flooring the accelerator as the Humvee roared to life. With MacCready providing covering fire, they sped away from the Charles View Amphitheater, leaving the cult members in their dust.

As they raced into the night, the danger gradually faded into the distance, replaced by a sense of relief and triumph.

After they escaped the immediate danger, Sico quickly formulated their next move. He leaned forward, his voice firm as he directed the driver.

Sico: "Head to Cabot House. That's where Emogene's family is. They need to know she's safe."

The driver nodded in acknowledgment and adjusted their course, steering the Humvee towards Cabot House with determination.

As they journeyed through the darkened streets, the adrenaline of the escape began to ebb, replaced by a sense of urgency to reunite Emogene with her family. Each passing moment brought them closer to their destination, and Sico couldn't shake the feeling of responsibility weighing heavily on his shoulders.

fter an hour and a half of tense travel, they finally arrived at Cabot House. The group wasted no time and quickly made their way inside. As they entered the living room, they were met with an unexpected scene.

Jack Cabot was engaged in a conversation over a ham radio, his expression tense as he listened intently to the voice on the other end. The voice, identified as Edward, emanated from Parson State Insane Asylum and was filled with urgency and concern.

Edward: "Jack, we're under attack! They're firing on us from all sides!"

Jack's face paled as he listened to Edward's frantic words, his concern deepening with each passing moment.

Jack: "What's going on there, Edward!? Who's attacking the place!?"

Edward's voice crackled over the radio, strained with urgency.

Edward: "Raiders, Jack! But they're unlike any raiders I've seen before. They're faster, stronger… and they're armed to the teeth. We need reinforcements here, Jack. Fast."

Jack's grip tightened on the radio as Edward's urgent plea echoed through the room. Without wasting a moment, Jack responded with determination.

Jack: "Hold on, Edward. We're on our way. Just hang tight."

Edward's voice crackled back, filled with urgency.

Edward: "Hurry!"

The sudden sound of gunfire erupted in the background, drowning out Edward's voice. Jack's heart raced as he listened, the sense of urgency driving him into action. But before he could respond, the radio fell silent, the connection lost.

Jack glanced at Sico and his companions, a steely resolve in his eyes.

Jack: "We need to move. Parson State Insane Asylum is under attack, and we're their only hope."

With a nod of agreement, Sico and his companions prepared to embark on their next mission, knowing that time was of the essence.
