Fortunately, Wayne didn't have to wait long for his opportunity. On the third day after returning to Vizima, early in March, he pushed away Syanna, who had nestled into his arms. Habitually, he picked up the dice he kept by the bedside and rolled them several times. Seeing the numbers, he immediately realized that today was the lucky day in March—the perfect day for a draw.

Time was of the essence, and the task ahead was daunting. Over the past four months, Wayne had accumulated more than 110 treasure chests, including over ten expert-level ones, four master-level ones, and the remaining hundred were all ordinary-level.

Before completing the master-level blueprint tasks in Toussaint, Wayne had already selected mutation-enhanced skills. After receiving part of the rewards for rebuilding the Witcher Order, his level had reached halfway through level 12, with two ability points left to spend.

Now was the time for his luck-altering skills to come into play, and he already had a plan in mind for how to use them.

He gave Syanna a playful slap to wake her up, then tugged on her ear and said, "Time to get to work."

Syanna, still groggy from the previous night's activities, seemed a bit dazed. Wayne didn't push her further. After getting up and dressing, he gave her a gentle squeeze to ensure she didn't drift back to sleep, then left the room.

To boost his luck, Wayne knew he needed to find a "lucky" individual and extract some of their fortune. Initially, he considered visiting a prison to find a death row inmate for the draw, but as it was his first time using this skill, he wanted to observe what would happen to the person whose luck he took.

Instead, he chose a well-known profiteer in Vizima, a fat man with a rather unsavory reputation. This man was rumored to be the brother-in-law of a count, a classic case of corruption between officials and businessmen.

With his brother-in-law's backing, this profiteer had used unfair competition, fraud, and outright theft to amass his fortune. Wayne felt no guilt in targeting someone who had built their wealth through such ruthless means. He tracked the man to a tavern he frequented and, upon finding him, discreetly cast the Luck Curse skill.

For a moment, Wayne felt an invisible force being pulled from the profiteer's body and entering his own soul, leaving him feeling unusually refreshed.

Just seconds after Wayne finished siphoning the luck, the fat profiteer, who had been enjoying his drink, suddenly shuddered. He then slumped onto the table, eyes rolling back, and wet himself, with a foul odor beginning to spread.

Due to the location in a busy business district, a doctor was quickly summoned by the man's bodyguards. But as the doctor rushed in, he tripped over something, and his medical bag flew from his hand, striking the wealthy man squarely on the head. To make matters worse, the bodyguard, who was following close behind, fell on top of his employer in the chaos.

Despite the mishaps, the bodyguard hurriedly got up and urged the doctor to attend to the profiteer. However, after a frantic effort, the diagnosis was grim: the man had suffered a sudden heart issue, causing his blood pressure to spike. The resulting rush of blood to his brain had caused a blockage, likely leaving him in a vegetative state—a stroke, in common terms.

Observing this from a distance, Wayne shook his head, unsurprised. Fat people are prone to high blood pressure and strokes, and this man's sudden turn of bad luck seemed to have tipped the scales, leading to his unfortunate condition.

Wayne speculated that lucky individuals had a higher likelihood of encountering favorable events, while the unlucky were more prone to adverse situations. This insight probably explained why he had been able to draw more valuable items in the lottery.

What surprised him even more was that the luck-doubling effect on lucky days also applied to his temporary luck. At this moment, his luck had soared to over 40 points, twice as much as on previous lucky days.

Yet, Wayne wasn't satisfied with just that. He quickly made his way to a remote location, where he used his invisibility cloak and magic flying carpet to swiftly reach the forest on Black Tern Island. There, he found the Lady of the Lake and prayed to the Goddess for additional good fortune.

However, he didn't linger for long. After a brief, but intense, moment of prayer, he returned to his room before sunset.

By this time, his luck had reached an unprecedented 50 points—a level of fortune typically reserved for those who had reached Gwent level 50. It was simply astonishing.

Elated, Wayne quickly bathed, changed into fresh clothes, burned incense, set up an altar, and performed the necessary rituals. Without delay, he began opening his treasure chests, invoking the names of various deities for good measure.

Seeing the small blue scrolls materialize beside him, Wayne was immediately thrilled. He quickly picked one up to examine it.

It turned out to be a well-known Town Portal Scroll from the world of Diablo. However, since it was of ordinary quality, its teleportation range was limited to about 500 kilometers—not exceptional, but still quite useful.

The only advantage of the Town Portal Scrolls is that they allow Wayne to bind the location he has visited at will, functioning as a directional teleportation scroll. Once bound, they can be used whenever necessary, making them incredibly convenient.

Compared to the typical items found in ordinary treasure chests, this was already a promising start. The fifty points of luck were certainly working in his favor.

With over a hundred ordinary treasure chests at his disposal, Wayne knew he could open them in sets of ten, ensuring he could maximize his efficiency. Without further hesitation, he decided to open ten chests at a time, repeating the process nine times.

After opening the ninety treasure chests, a variety of items materialized beside Wayne. While none of these items were extraordinary, they were at least useful and not mere waste. He quickly assessed them, finding them to be moderately valuable.

The Scouting Guard and True Sight Guard were particularly notable. These items, common in the League of Legends universe, allowed for magical surveillance of an area. The Scouting Guard could detect visible threats, while the True Sight Guard could reveal invisible targets. Unlike their in-game counterparts, these magical items had no cooldown and lasted for about 24 hours. Moreover, as long as the duration hadn't expired, they could be retrieved and reused, making them highly practical.

The Frost Spider Eggs originated from the Elder Scrolls universe. These could either be consumed or used to breed more frost spiders, depending on Wayne's needs.

The cat rice balls and magic bait were more specialized. The cat rice balls, from the Monster Hunter world, were used to feed pets, allowing them to recover and increasing their loyalty—an excellent tool for managing companions. The magic bait, from an unknown magical world, was reputed to attract rare fish, though its practical use remained to be seen.

With the ordinary treasure chests opened, Wayne turned his attention to the fifteen expert-level chests. Not wanting to drag things out, he opted to open all of them at once.

As the system notification chimed, a sizable pile of gold coins and three additional items appeared beside him. Upon noticing the green crystal jar containing what looked like fungus spores, Wayne almost set it on fire out of sheer instinct.

Anyone familiar with the Warhammer universe would immediately recognize the danger posed by Ork spores. These were known to be one of the most prolific alien life forms, capable of reproducing rapidly and evolving into a variety of green-skinned creatures. From lowly snots to towering giants, these creatures could quickly overrun a planet, devouring all other life forms and spreading like a viral plague.

Thankfully, the crystal jar provided by the system was robust and fully sealed. Otherwise, Wayne might have had no choice but to burn his entire mansion to the ground to contain the threat.

He carefully placed the jar into his space bracelet, pondering with some trepidation how to handle this dangerous asset. It was the very definition of a "weapon of mutual destruction," with no immediate use for him.

The perfect rubies, on the other hand, were a much safer find. Originating from the Diablo universe, these magical gems could be embedded into weapons or armor, granting them fire-based attacks or increasing vitality. However, because the Diablo world and the Witcher world operated on different magical systems, Wayne knew he would need to study how to best use these gems.

The Thief's Gloves, glowing with magical energy, came from the Baldur's Gate world. These rare magical gloves increased dexterity by one point and lockpicking skills by two points. While useful, they weren't particularly valuable to Wayne, who rarely engaged in lockpicking. They might, however, make a nice gift for someone in need of such skills.

With the expert-level chests now opened and dusk setting in, Wayne decided not to delay any further. Before anyone could return and question his activities, he chose to open the four remaining master-level treasure chests all at once.
