Chapitre 28: chapter 28 : Declaration of War
Keï: Can I know what you're talking about Akira ?! You rarely contact me, it's been months since we last saw or spoke to each other and you suddenly come to tell me that i'm in danger ?
Akira: Keï , we're not going to beat around the bush. I know you're part of this hunting team, don't try to deny it because that would waste our time and time is a luxury we don't have.
Keï : Akira…
Akira: Don't worry, it's your secret just like I have mine and know that you're not the only one who was dragged into these things without your consent. Have you and your team ever hunted vampires ?
Keï: Vampires ?(sighs) No, but after one of our missions, the strongest hunter in the group said he crossed paths with several guys in black suits with fairly long canines. They attacked him but the confrontation was brief as he was transferred but this small fight was enough for him to kill one of them and injure two others.
Akira: Look, something happened recently, several vampire homes were wiped out a few days ago and the vampires are convinced that it was the work of the Gantz team from Tokyo. Vlad the leader of the vampire community has gathered several vampires to take charge and they have your addresses.
Keï: How can you know all that !?
Akira: I don't have time to explain it to you, big brother.
Kei: Akira.
Akira: (sighs) Involuntarily, I too became a vampire. I didn't choose this, it's a crueler fate than you think and I can't change anything about it. My emotions are almost all extinguished and my diet is changed forever. Just me being here puts my life in danger and I'm sure they've already noticed.
Kei remained silent for a while with a shocked look after listening to this but Akira continued.
Akira: Denial is completely useless big brother and we don't have time for it. How strong is your team ? And the band member you told me about, I want to meet him too. His name is Yami Asura, right ?
Keï: How can you know that ? Why do you want to meet them?!
Akira: There is a website, a forum called "the chamber of the black sphere", there are several detailed elements on alien hunts but also names including yours and all those mentioned in the news but above all, it mentions the name of an extremely strong hunter called Yami Asura. Big brother, when his guys are done with you, they'll take on the rest of the town to go wild or celebrate. There's no turning back since I came here, they sure know we're brothers so my head will probably roll the minute I'm in front of them again. Your group, we have to-(interrupted)
Akira couldn't even finish his sentence when the window shattered as two severed heads were thrown through. They were the heads of old Suzuki and Nishi. Akira had already drawn his sword at high speed while Kurono remained motionless like a lizard out of survival reflex and around the same time, Tae came out of the bathroom due to the noise.
"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH !!!" she screamed in horror as she saw heads rolling.
"Grandpa Suzuki...no ! " Keï muttered in a daze upon seeing this but immediately, Akira shook him out of his thoughts.
Akira: BIG BROTHER, WE CAN'T STAY HERE ANYMORE. I SEE YOU HAVE YOUR SUIT UNDER YOUR OUTFIT SO WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE. IF WE STAY HERE THEN WE WILL DEFINITELY DIE.
Keï immediately took Tae who was in pajamas in his arms before rushing out the door with Akira and once outside, 5 men in chic black clothes were waiting for them, they were vampires.
Akira: Keï run with your girlfriend, I'll get rid of these guys.
Keï: Akir-(interrupted)
Akira: RUN.
Keï started to run and just as soon, two vampires lunged at him. Kurono immediately activated the suit and kicked one of the vampires in the chest who was thrown several meters before continuing to run.
The other was less lucky because he was quickly decapitated by Akira.
Vampire #1: AKIRA, DIRTY TRAITOR!!
Akira: You already took my life, I won't let you take my family.
Vampire #2: It's your head that we're going to take and offer to Vlad. He's going to kill your brother and his whole gang before taking care of the rest of the city.
They started the fight and Akira quickly had the upper hand over his opponents because he had very good fighting skills.
He decapitated two of the vampires and had injured the third after a while.
These vampires were not weak and were even part of the elite but were inferior to Akira in terms of talent.
The injured man and the one Kurono had kicked attacked him together and Akira was quickly able to kill the injured vampire but just as he wanted to kill the last vampire, a hand stopped his sword.
Akira tried to move his weapon but in vain, this hand was a real vice.
"I advise you to make yourself small, I'll take you back to Vlad. It can be painful or gentle, it's up to you, but I hate using violence." the man who held the saber spoke.
It was Romeo (created character ), Vlad's right arm and the second strongest vampire. Romeo was a handsome black man, tall with sad eyes and a thoughtful look, looking like someone who was deeply depressed.
Akira: Mr. Romeo, you know what will happen after Vlad gets rid of Team Gantz. Tens of thousands of innocent people will become his buffet for him and his savages. I know you're different from him so help us stop his madness, we have to-(interrupted)
He hadn't even finished his sentence when Romeo had knocked him out without him even being able to follow his speed of movement. Romeo sighed before taking a piece of paper from his pocket, dropping it off at Kurono's house before carrying Akira and leaving with him calmly.
[Yami's POV]
It was after 10 p.m. and I was sharing a beer with Juzo and Kaze when I received a call from Kurono.
He said he was approaching my apartment and explained to me in brief everything that he and his brother had discussed as well as the current situation.
He also begged me to go help his brother because the latter stayed to slow down the vampires so that he could escape with Tae.
Naturally, I urged him to come straight here and that the others would welcome him.
As for me, I rushed out just telling the others that Kurono was coming. Once outside, Shadow changed into my usual combat chic outfit with a black mask on his lower face.
From roof to roof, I ran at crazy speed like a ghost to Keï's apartment where I saw the traces of combat that they left behind them.
The door to the apartment was open so I went inside and that's when I saw the piece of paper on the ground with something written on it.
Basically, a certain Vlad claiming to be the leader of the vampires said he was holding Kurono's brother Akira and Izumi hostage.
The bloodsucker wanted him and the team to have a face to face the next day if we wanted them back and honestly, I didn't care if these two died but where he is petty is in threatening to attack the townspeople if we don't come.
"This guy thinks he's in a western or something ? Who these days asks for this kind of meeting ? It's clear that it's for a big old-fashioned fight, I don't know who this Vlad is but clearly, he's an old guy" I said scratching my temple, I really didn't know what to think of this guy.
I searched a little more and I didn't find anything interesting, these guys were doing it in total simplicity so I left for my apartment making sure that the three vampires responsible for following me were dead. Poor little shits!
Back at the apartment, I saw Tae Kojima in a state of shock while Keï and Reïka were calming her down.
When Kurono saw me, he immediately stood up with a meaningful look as if waiting for news from his brother.
I handed him the paper before going to pour myself a beer from the fridge, behind me I heard Kurono getting angry for his kidnapped brother who was trying to protect him but I didn't really care.
Kato: We have to do something.
Juzo: Izumi is a bastard who caused the deaths of several people and the other is a vampire. Who tells us that Keï's brother isn't in cahoots with his fellow blood drinkers ?
"Yami, you need to say something." Reïka said looking at me as I took sips of my beer.
"They killed old Suzuki my dear, I saw his head there on the ground like a football. I buried him, there was Nishi's head too but I didn't give a damn" I said putting some roasted peanuts in my mouth.
When the girls heard this, they directly sealed their mouths with their hands and even Kishimoto started crying.
Kaze: These bastards ! They attacked a defenseless old man and there were certainly several of them.
Juzo:…
Kurono: With or without you, I will face this guy. I will save my brother but I will also make these guys pay for what they did to grandpa.
Kato: I'm coming with you Keï.
The doorbell rang and the others immediately stood on alert with a little stress.
I looked through the walls to see that it was Sakata and Sakurai, I kept the others informed and the door was opened for them.
When they entered, they had quite a large amount of blood on them, staining their clothes and giving them a scary, zombie-like appearance.
Others :…
Sakurai:...vampires...vampires attacked us...they were vampires !!
He spoke in a daze which amused me quite a bit, the poor guy looked in shock.
However, this situation was starting to irritate me and these vampires really believed they could go to war with us.
Worse still, they thought they could go to war with me and I couldn't let this insult go.
