"So, are we shooting a movie with that yellow-eyed monster next?" Charlize asked Christian as they made their way back to the crew.
"Almost, Although he shouldn't appear in the movie," Christian replied, struggling to carry the still-unconscious Annika.
"In other words, in the future, I'll not only have to deal with the provocations of several supporting actresses and all sorts of rumors but also worry about being ambushed by monsters from time to time. Great" Charlize sarcastically remarked.
"Can I vent my frustration?" Charlize asked.
"Of course not" Christian stopped the frustrated Charlize and added, "Instead of venting your fears by losing your temper, I hope you can explain Alexis's situation first."
Charlize was momentarily speechless.
"Did you follow my advice and break the bottle with the photo of ants and Alexis at the intersection?" Christian inquired.
"No," Charlize admitted.
"Why?" Christian's voice contained an underlying intensity that unsettled Charlize. Eventually, she decided to be honest.
"I wanted to learn Alexis's acting skills in my dreams."
"What?" Christian's reaction exceeded Charlize's expectations.
Christian had been annoyed when he discovered that "Alexis" was still attached to Charlize, suspecting that Charlize had not broken the bottle according to his request. He had worried that Charlize might become addicted to dream-weaving in an attempt to emulate Alexis. It turned out that the situation was more complex than he had imagined.
"Are you learning her acting skills?" Christian asked.
"Yes," Charlize replied with unwavering determination. "I wanted to break the bottle as you advised, but in that dream, I saw how incredible Alexis's acting skills were. And, most importantly, how could I ever match her acting skills in real life? Practice alone won't bridge the gap. In the dream, I can truly learn and experience Alexis's acting skills. So, can I break that bottle later?"
"You..." Christian sighed, thinking, 'This girl must be out of her mind!'
"Breaking the bottle won't work now," Christian explained.
"Alexis has been attached to your body for too long, and she will remain with you from now on."
"What?" Charlize was taken aback.
"She has become a part of your subconscious and your body," Christian clarified. "Right, Alexis?"
He lightly tapped Charlize's forehead with his finger, leaving the blonde girl startled.
"What is this?" Charlize raised her hand, seemingly questioning her existence.
"How did you do that?" She regarded Christian with suspicion as if he were some sort of supernatural entity.
"Don't be so nervous," Christian reassured her. He had Annika, the comatose makeup artist, off his back and was catching his breath.
"When Sally was confused by the ghost, you awakened her," Christian explained. "I knew you wouldn't harm her anymore. Though she didn't ultimately break the bottle to make you disappear, in her dream, you were alive, and her grievances were resolved."
"Yes," Alexis confirmed. "Thanks to Sally, I had a happy time in her dream, even if it was just a dream. I should have disappeared then, but I felt Sally's desire to improve her acting skills. So, I stayed, even though I'm not sure if it was the right decision."
"That's not your decision," Christian reminded her. "As I told Sally earlier, a ghost of your level doesn't have much thinking ability. You can only be effective when attached to Sally, using her mind to think. However, this also allows Sally to influence you."
"You confused Sally before and asked her to deceive me and seal me," Alexis realized, "that was your plan."
"It seems like you're quite fond of Sally," Christian commented. "So, you're blaming everything on me?"
Inwardly, Christian complained about being blamed for all of Alexis's actions.
"Is it because you two genuinely get along, or is it because you use Sally's mind to think, and you can't refuse her expectations?" Christian continued.
"Are you trying to provoke our relationship?" Alexis questioned.
Alexis quickly grasped the meaning behind Christian's words, but he waved it off.
"No need to stir things up," he said. "When Sally admired your acting skills and wanted you to stay and teach her, you couldn't refuse for Sally's sake. It was as if you were responding to a believer's prayer. At that moment, your relationship with Sally completely changed."
"Do you mean..." Alexis asked.
"You're now living within Sally's body, and you can alternate with her," Christian explained.
"You use Sally's mind to think, but you also act for her, and you possess memories that don't belong to her. In essence, you've become a second personality within Sally. Your situation is no different from Sally having a second personality"
Christian pondered the situation. He could potentially control the alternating of consciousness between Charlize and Alexis to some extent, thanks to the binding contract he had coerced Alexis into signing. However, he wasn't a psychiatrist, and Charlize's mental health wasn't his primary concern. Besides, forcefully removing Alexis might lead to more complications and complaints.
Currently, there was something more pressing that required Charlize and Alexis to work together. Christian brought the conversation back on track, "Alexis, Sally, even though you're not in control of your body right now, I know you can hear me. Since you won't harm each other anymore, there shouldn't be any issues with your current state. But if we can't find a way to deal with the yellow-eyed creature, the Ghost Tiger, we'll face significant challenges ahead. In that regard, I need both of your help."
"I think your troubles will get even worse if you mess up this film," Alexis pointed out sharply. Then she added with a smile, "That's what Sally asked me to say."
Christian couldn't help but marvel at the rapport between the two personalities sharing one body.
"Anyway, in the next filming, I need both of you to perform together," Christian stated. "Sally, you'll continue playing the heroine and act as usual, while Alexis will be attached to Sally, portraying a ghost in a second performance. I'll write a separate script for you, and there will be several switches between your characters."
"Are we shooting 'The Fifth Sally,' or is this a tribute to Hitchcock's 'The Cry'?" Alexis inquired, curious about Christian's intentions.
Christian raised an eyebrow and replied, "Why not? I happen to be a Hitchcock fan."
"How come?" Alexis asked.
Christian's gaze shifted from Alexis to Charlize, and he continued, "The reason I'm asking you to do this is to leverage the unique power that occurs during the switches between you two. Alexis isn't just a second personality of Sally, and the switches can create some unusual effects. Combined with the spells I've set up, we can harness the power of the Ghost Tiger into our movie."
"How did you manage that?" Alexis asked, her curiosity still apparent.
Christian didn't answer her directly but went on, "Since that creature agreed to my terms earlier, he shouldn't resist us using his power. To a powerful being like him, this level of borrowing is inconsequential. However, it will provide us with an opportunity when the film is completed and released."
"An opportunity to completely eradicate the Ghost Tiger"
