Samuel Johnson returned home, took a bath, and when he went back, it was still early. When he came out of the bathroom, the cook had just entered the kitchen.
His body felt extremely lazy after a hangover; he sat on the sofa, closed his eyes to rest and recuperate. The scent of the medicine being simmered in the kitchen slowly wafted over. The prescriptions from Doctor Seam, though highly effective, were to be taken thrice daily, and that bitter taste was unbearable to just smell, let alone drink.
But for his and Amanda Smith's future, Samuel still had to supervise Amanda to drink it down, mouthful by mouthful.
As Samuel thought about this, he beckoned with his hand, calling a servant over.
"I didn't come back yesterday, did Amanda take her medicine on time?"
"She did." The servant hesitated before adding, "But she only drank half and left the rest, she didn't finish it."
