Chapitre 9: Sandy companion
(POV Karma)
"Everyone spread out and stay where I can see you if you find something interesting yell and I'll be there!" I ordered as I clumsily floated onto one of the giant rocks across the shore before I pulled out fishing gear.
(For my escape plan to work I at the very least need a water type and the more I control the better…) I stuck a poke pellet onto the hook and swung before setting the rod aside and opening a few panels.
(I'll need a strong flying type which is covered by Val once he evolves into his third stage at level 35…) I typed in ocean dwelling pokemon in the Pokedex gaining numerous results.
(…But relying on Val alone is not enough to get me out of here.)
I turned back to the beach watching as my pokemon roamed the beach each in their own little world of adventure.
(If my understanding of this world is correct each region, continent, and basically any giant landmass is very far apart from each other and need days- weeks at most to travel.) I solemnly thought as I stared off into the endless blue sea with longing.
(So I need a water type to cover the distance while Val rests and a few more to protect me since land pokemon will struggle battling in the sea…) I revised my plan as I continued to browse through possible options.
For the next few hours, I laid in the sun reeling in some pokemon all of which I released either not satisfied with the stats or species and rarely getting any calls from my exploring pokemon until…
*Loud crash*
*PPPPPPPRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEE*
"Shit!" I cursed as I zoomed to the dust cloud in the distance along with the others.
"VAL!" I yelled as I saw a half sand submerged sandile clamping its jaws on a desperate Val's tail feathers.
"DENJI FURRY CUTTER! LYNX MAKE SURE IT WON'T ESCAPE!" I screeched out an order as I hurriedly took out a potion.
*BI*
*HISS*
Denji rushed to the croc with his saw revving while Lynx on the other hand burrowed himself in the sand before circling the sandile.
<Denji used fury cutter!>
<Lynx used Dig!>
Then in a split second, Denji slashed at the sandile grazing through its rough scales causing the ground type to let go of Val.
*PPPPPRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEE*
Val's wails bellowed through the beach as he was thrown at a tree before he was silenced by a coconut to his noggin.
(…Don't laugh…Don't laugh…Don't laugh…) I painfully resisted the urge to laugh as I controlled a potion to float and spray him with its liquid.
"Rest well…" I returned Val to his pokeball and I focused back on the battle.
I looked at the battle and saw Lynx launching rocks at the sandile while still circling it while Denji on the other hand did combo after combo of furry cutters on the poor reptile before he used shadow sneak to get away and let the barrage of stone rain on their opponent.
*Bi!*
*Meow…*
When Lynx exited the sand Denji rushed up to the tired cat excitedly zooming around the feline spewing out compliments at the irritated and embarrassed lynx who shyly looked away.
"Now what should we do with you…" I looked at the sandile until I noticed something.
"Lynx use quick attack on it…" I made use of one of my new abilities, the ability to perceive surface level thoughts which caused me great strain as I noticed it faking its defeat and reading itself to retreat.
*Meow*
*Krah-*
Lynx dutifully executed the task successfully knocking the sandile out in a mere second.
(Let's see if you're worth a ball…) I crouched in front and scanned it for its stats and species info.
"Oh…how intriguing it knows crunch at such a low level?…" I looked at its stats with decent surprise.

(It's this strong for its level but not enough to make me catch it so let's see if we've got any new evolution paths to make me rethink my verdict…) I curiously read through the evolutions for anything that caught my until something did.
"That…this is…" I stuttered out my words as I found a strong evolution after krokorok a very strong ice type evolution.
(HOW!? ALL OF ITS STATS ARE INSANE AND ONLY S-DEF IS LACKING AND EVEN THEN IT'S HIGH! IT IS PRACTICALLY A PSEUDO LEGENDARY AND ONLY AN ICE STONE IS NEEDED!) I fumbled to take out and throw my pokeball at the sleeping sandile.
*Ding*
*Ding*
*Ding*
*Beep*
I successfully caught the crocodile and pocketed the ball containing it before I looked at the sun checking the time.
"It's getting late we'll continue exploring tomorrow!" I ordered as I retrieved my gear and retreated to the cave with Denji and Lynx by my side.

"Be prepared for any sudden attacks." I calmly warned my Pokemon as I tapped sandile's ball letting him out.
*Dile?*
The lizard looked around confused before it spotted and eyed me with caution.
"Hello sandile I'm Karma Hirosaki your trainer! I hope we can get along!" I did my best first impression as I crouched in front of it with a freshly cooked steak at hand.
*ssssssaaaannndddddd*
The sandile's mouth gushed with drool as it eyed the steak with innocent gleaming eyes.
"How about this…" I took advantage of its gluttony and thought of an offer it couldn't resist.
"If you promise to behave and follow my commands I will give you food like this daily and if you are not satisfied with it you may leave anytime!" I made the offer more enticing as I pulled out a second steak.
The sandile did a carefree salute as it continued to drool and stare at the meat in my grasp.
"Hahahaha great! Here you go as promised!" I happily placed the steaks in front of our team's new glutton who gobbled them up instantly.
*Dileeee*
The sandile fell on its back as it released a long and relaxed sigh with a bloated stomach and a happy smile.
*BIBI*
I turned back and saw the others looking at me with jealous gazes as Val pointed to his open beak with his talons.
"*Sigh* I was expecting this…" I said tiredly as I bought more steaks from the system before handing a steak to each of them.
*Happy cawing*
*Bibibibi!*

The three had a total 180 on their moods as they enjoyed the tender and juicy steak.
I playfully rolled my eyes before I became serious and opened all of our stats and started planning for the best growth path for us.
(Denji is a jack of all trades since he can change form so he should just stick with training to increase his stats and mastery over moves…) I scribbled my thoughts on a notebook.
(While for Val he should train psychically increasing his psychical stats and psychical moves mastery. But he should also train and learn a few special and status moves on the side like hurricane and sandstorm especially sandstorm since he needs it for his third evolution…)
(For Lynx the obvious choice is to solely focus on psychical moves and stats, though a few stat increasing moves should also be a priority once one is learned…) I continued writing gaining curious glances from my pokemon minus of course the sleeping croc that I've yet to name.
(Now what about the newbie….Hmm, the sandile should focus on training speed and defense for now along with mastering every move it learns. When he evolves into a krokorok I'll change his training but until then I'll stick to this plan for a good foundation. As for me…)
I flipped the palm sized close creating a slight echo in the cave before I laid down on my leaf bed my head resting on my hands.
(…I'll continue my current training schedule, doing my daily exercise- I mean grind to my limit, training my psychic abilities when I can, practice battling alongside my pokemon against any other pokemon we come across…) I then drifted off into the land of dreams letting go of all the stress I gained today.
