Chapitre 105: A Shallow Woman

"Your grace, you are back." Olga smiled at the woman but when Evan returned the smile, it was stiff.

A strange coldness enveloped her though she knew Olga was not responsible for what had happened. She was nothing but a victim. Evan chided herself as she was followed by her maids.

Diana smiled at her too when she reached her office.

"You are working already?" Diana asked with a look of disbelief, "should you not be resting your grace? Emma and I would handle it here." the young woman offered with a bright smile that did not show any scorn or mockery.

Evan raised a brow at Emma but the young girl was more frightened than her.

"You would? Have you completed the tasks for today?" Diana grinend as if she had been offered a treasure when she nodded. She took out files of monthly kitchen expenditure. Evan was sure Diana was not given that task, but still she nodded as Diana flipped the pages and opened the parchment where inspection of the ration was due.
