If one would be asked to describe Sasuke's mood right now, it would be: infuriated.
At himself, at Orochimaru, at Naruto, at everyone.
'Damn it'
Why?
It was because he had let go of everything while in search of true strength.
All so that he can beat that man. So that he can kill him.
But, what about now? His attack did nothing to someone he thought was still weak.
He was outclassed in speed, and even in power as noticed earlier.
This made him angry, and Naruto's taunts, which were spoken as if facts only served to anger him.
'This bastard, Naruto, how did he get so strong?'
Sasuke had to let go of everything, but Naruto didn't and yet was as strong as him. How was that possible? He didn't want to think that he had made the wrong choice at that time.
He prepared to go at seriously, by activating the cheat ability known as Sharingan.
'This explains how Naruto was able to beat Orochimaru'
Sasuke concluded after this brief tussle with Naruto.
He was still thinking that he was stronger than Orochimaru as his pride didn't allow him to see things straight.
And now that his Sharingan was turned on, he was comforted a bit that he would be able to beat Naruto now and calmed down.
He smirked at Naruto and then said.
"You are strong Naruto, however, there is nothing you can do to beat me,"
His pride in his bloodline was immense, and it was justified for him to think this way usually.
And against normal opponents at that.
But now… he was surely in for a surprise.
Naruto just shook his head once again and rubbed the back of his head.
'This guy, was he always this bad?'
Naruto couldn't help but wonder.
He knew that Sasuke was overreacting and wouldn't normally be this… well, this stupid.
Naruto then saw Sasuke's eyes widen and rotate the tomoes.
'What is he doing?'
Naruto wondered still casually standing there while crossing his arms again.
He then nodded his head as he understood what was going on.
He had used a type of Sharingan technique on him to enter his mindscape.
'It seems those eyes can do more than just Genjutsu…'
Naruto could stop him of course, since he had perfect control of his mind, and even if he didn't, Kurama was there to take care of Sasuke. And this Kurama was unchained.
Naruto blinked and suddenly also appeared in his mindscape.
He heard Sasuke speak.
"So, you are the nine tails,"
Kurama was a red-orange colored fox with black fur around his red eyes that stretched up to his ears and nine long swiping tails. He also had the upper-body structure of a human, complete with opposable thumbs on his clawed hands.
Sasuke looked on with arrogance.
He could feel the fearsome strength hidden in this mighty towering beast before him, but he knew it was sealed and couldn't do much except show this form perhaps.
He wanted to directly show Naruto that he could beat this power that was helping him, and his confidence was big die to the seal, but he couldn't have been any more wrong.
Kurama was resting his head on his hands akin to sleeping, when he opened his eyes and observed the hatful eyes of the clan of the Uchiha.
"Uchiha, once again, and another one consumed by hate"
"Naruto, why did you let this weakling in?"
Kurama was annoyed at best since he had also changed during the two years of training.
And at his words, Naruto appeared with his hands rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment.
"This… I wanted to see what he wants to do here so I let him in," Naruto said.
He knew that in his mindscape if he wanted to, he could even torture Sasuke there. That was why he didn't care much.
"Hmph, you're still as childish as ever,"
Kurma snorted.
Sasuke watched all this with a tick mark on his forehead.
He activated his eyes and was about to cast a Genjutsu on this fox in front of him when Kurama turned his eyes to him.
Sasuke was suddenly stunned.
'This… malice!' He couldn't move anymore and was stuck in place feeling an overwhelming feeling from the fox. It was as if he was an ant standing in front of a T-rex.
Kurama's fangs showed up as he smirked a full malicious evil smile, and raised one hand in the sky.
His claws extended and he swiped it at Sasuke.
*Swish*
Sasuke was dismembered into various parts that fell to the ground and then he vanished into light particles.
The last thing he heard in his ears was-
"Next time you come here; you'll be dead… weakling!"
Naruto chuckled and got out of the mindscape too.
When he appeared back, he suddenly saw Sasuke vomiting blood, as his eyes and ears bled too.
"Man, that must hurt,"
Naruto sympathized with Sasuke at this moment and the backlash of the mind was quite serious.
It was at this moment that Orochimaru stepped up next to Sasuke, and Kabuto used his healing jutsu on him.
Sasuke just raised his head up and glared at Naruto.
His head ached, and it hurt to even open his eyes, but he was feeling a deep suffocation as he kept wondering if he really had what it takes to beat Itachi.
It appeared that the nine tails was every bit as scary as they described him.
And it seemed like Naruto had a good relationship with him.
Sasuke didn't want to bother with fighting Naruto anymore. His target was someone else after all.
"Naruto, why did you come to find Sasuke at this time?"
Orochimaru got to the point.
He wanted to know why now of all time, Naruto and Sakura were after Sasuke.
Naruto looked at Orochimaru.
His teacher Hayato had said to let this guy be since he wasn't going to be evil in the future.
So, both he and Sakura had no intent to capture him at this moment.
But for Sasuke, they had to try and ask him to come back.
"Sasuke, I didn't mean to belittle you, you have certainly gotten stronger, but our mission this time is to bring you back to Konoha,"
Naruto started to speak up.
In reality, he really wanted to help Sasuke.
As he knew deep down that he was worth saving.
Sakura stepped up too.
"Come back with us, Sasuke, we are your friends, and we can help you in your mission,"
She genuinely meant that, since she considered him her friend and still a part of Konoha.
"Yes, I will also help you in your mission, Sasuke, you can see how strong I've gotten, and don't underestimate Sakura she's really strong now, that Orochimaru guy stands no chance against her, we can help you,"
Upon hearing this, Sasuke's eyes wavered for a second.
He had calmed down a bit as he heard their words and felt their sincerity.
After all, these guys had always stood by him and wanted to help him, not even giving up on him as he betrayed them. But the reason why he acted rashly was that his gained strength might not be enough and he panicked about that.
And true as they said, he could sense Sakura was strong too, and thus he knew what they said was true, so he didn't need to do this alone.
But then his mind flashed back to all he had gone through those days…
'It's my responsibility!'
He wouldn't be going back with them.
At least, until he killed Uchiha Itachi!
"Naruto, Sakura… our bonds were severed a long time ago! The only bond I have now is that of hate towards Itachi Uchiha!"
He quietly spoke up and then, he turned around with the help of Kabuto.
Orochimaru seeing this, turned and smiled while licking his lips at Naruto.
He saw that Sai was about to move and stop them along with Yamato, but both Naruto and Sakura stopped them by raising their hands.
Yamato and Sai shared a look, but then sighed and stood in position.
They stayed on silence for a while watching his back.
"You'll just let us go like this?"
Orochimaru spoke up in curiosity.
To be honest, he now was 80% sure that what Naruto was saying about him being weak in Naruto and Sakura's eyes was true.
His instinct as one of the Sannins was never wrong.
"If he wants to come back, he can come back, but I'll never force my friends to do something they don't want to. I respect his choices…"
Naruto simply said in reply before he turned and walked back toward his group.
