After ten minutes of reflection and meditation, Korr rose from bed and headed to a concealed room behind a wall in his quarters.
The room measured three by three, serving as a small workshop Korr kept hidden from slaves and Jaffa, as he was supposed to be a god, and they couldn't witness him working on technology or similar matters, as it was deemed magic. If a Jaffa saw him working on his technology and concluded that his magic was no different from creating a hammer, he would be in serious trouble, as his divinity would be questioned.
Korr's workshop wasn't a lab but a space with simple tools where he could make minor repairs to weapons or salvage parts with superficial damage, aiming to save naquadah for better things from the Goa'uld Mot, whom he served.
Korr approached a board with various crystals arranged vertically in a drawer, a Goa'uld computer. He took out a small gray ball, a communication sphere used to transmit crucial information to the Goa'uld he served, and little else.
Goa'uld were solitary beings, rarely engaging in social gatherings or communicating with others to discuss their lives or trivial gossip.
In his five years of service to the Goa'uld Mot, Korr received only one prerecorded call, informing him of the annexation of another planet to his boss Mot's domain, accompanied by a grandiose speech where the Goa'uld leader praised himself for minutes after seizing a miserable planet from a lesser Goa'uld, killing half its inhabitants and torturing the other half.
Korr pushed aside those memories and focused on his own affairs. He had taken the first step in his plans to attain supreme power in the galaxy and was preparing for the second.
...
Korr spent three hours making his preparations. It was already night when he finished, prompting a discontented grimace. He had boasted to himself about the knowledge and skills of a symbiote, but applying that knowledge to his own projects, distinct from typical Goa'uld matters, took longer than expected.
Even with an Earth computer, one could achieve what he wanted, and Goa'uld computers, operating with thought and capable of navigating ships across the galaxy with a simple command and terrifying precision, were millennia ahead of human technology.
Korr sighed. It wasn't just his limited knowledge's fault, as he had ensured that the application he had created was perfect. Any mistake would be a death sentence. He had also reviewed star maps and verified essential data for the next step in his plan.
Once finished, Korr took the small communication sphere, checked his zat gun and Kara kesh, as well as the artifact for healing, though he carried them without real need on this mission. If something went wrong, he would be dead with no chance to defend himself. However, this particular step wasn't dangerous and had a success rate of up to ninety percent.
After putting on a large hooded cloak that partially concealed his face for added impact, Korr left his room and encountered two guard Jaffa and, to his surprise, his First Prime.
His First Prime was a privileged Jaffa. He would always be on guard but wouldn't attend to him during off-duty hours unless called. Since it was already night, his First Prime should be with his family.
Korr looked at him, and his First Prime greeted him by placing a hand over his chest.
"Does my god require anything?" his First Prime inquired. He had sensed that something unusual was happening today and decided to be available just in case.
Korr nodded, pleased with the Jaffa's keen instincts, saving him precious time.
Korr thought these individuals would make excellent soldiers if he could change the tactics and strategies they used in combat, considering a Jaffa's superior strength, agility, speed, and endurance compared to an average human.
Jaffa could survive situations that would kill any normal human, no matter how strong or resilient.
"Summon ten more Jaffa; we will travel through the portal," ordered Korr, and without waiting, he began walking toward the transportation rings.
Upon reaching the portal, the other ten Jaffa had already caught up, sent by his First Prime along with one of the guards.
"Your duty is to follow me!" ordered Korr as he marked a direction and adjusted the hood of his cloak.
The portal created the opening, and his First Prime stepped forward.
When Korr crossed, his First Prime stood to the side, forming a path with the other Jaffa. Before them were ten Jaffa with the symbol of Ra tattooed on their foreheads. They didn't aim staff weapons at them and seemed to be waiting for something. Korr pulled out the gray sphere before they could speak, and an image of Ra appeared.
"This is my envoy!" Ra's Goa'uld voice declared, and then it vanished. Before the words finished, all Ra's Jaffa fell to their knees.
"Take me to your god!" ordered Korr as he surveyed the surroundings.
The portal was considered a religious object for the Goa'uld, so its surroundings were adorned with stone paths or simple constructions resembling rudimentary altars, despite this planet being dedicated to the construction of Ha'tak ships. Its security left much to be desired.
…
Fifteen minutes later, Korr reached the construction facilities and, using a ring transporter, was sent to a Ha'tak ship in orbit. As he walked toward the bridge of the ship, Korr could see three other nearby Ha'tak vessels. It was a significant garrison for this planet, one of the primary construction planets in service to Ra, although construction in the lower shipyards was slow.
Ra already had the largest Goa'uld fleet, and with one of his orders, the System Lords had to mobilize, saving him ships and rarely suffering losses unless a System Lord rebelled against him, which hadn't happened in millennia, as Ra controlled the ships of the System Lords and limited their number.
…
Upon reaching the bridge of the Ha'tak, Korr encountered a Goa'uld, a woman of decent appearance. In his eyes, it wasn't much, as considering the ego of the Goa'uld, he was alwayss disappointed in how ugly their hosts were. He remembered seeing beauty in the series, but it wasn't a Goa'uld, it was Tok'ra. He believed her name was Anise, although the Tok'ra used two names, and he couldn't recall the other.
Korr pulled out the gray sphere with the application he had created, displaying the image of Ra. He presented it to the Goa'uld, a woman in her thirties with short brown hair and slightly better clothing than the standard, though not particularly outstanding. It was fitted, but it didn't accentuate her slim and uncurvaceous body much. Korr activated the recording.
"This is my envoy; obey him and hand over everything I have sent him to retrieve!" ordered the imposing image of Ra he had created. When the recording ended, the woman raised an eyebrow.
"Does my lord have any orders for me?" the Goa'uld asked as a well-built slave with a decent face served her wine.
The Goa'uld had no gender; they could choose any host, and their queens were not females, merely an adaptation of the symbiotes themselves for reproduction—at least that was ancient Korr's understanding on the matter. The Goa'uld queens were very protective of their knowledge about themselves and didn't pass it on to their offspring, as they didn't trust them.
"You will give me two Ha'tak with a complement of no less than five hundred Jaffa and their families…" Korr made an entire shopping list, requesting fuel, naquadah bars, trinium, computers, tools to set up a large workshop, weapons to fill three armories, communication and healing artifacts, a sarcophagus, work tools, and two cargo ships.
The Goa'uld frowned, and Korr responded with a malicious smile.
"Does the goddess have anything to say about it?" Korr asked, as if he had a fervent desire to hear a yes.
The woman struggled to swallow some wine as she hurriedly shook her head. Death was a mercy she wouldn't receive if she even questioned an order from Ra. She was a mid-ranking Goa'uld, but she was also a direct servant of Ra, and he did not forgive offenses.
As for Korr using Ra's image to give her orders without her suspecting him, it was logical, as not even a System Lord would dare to impersonate Ra to issue any command. Not even one of his enemies would dare to be so bold; it was unthinkable for the Goa'uld, and Ra had only been missing for a year.
Even a System Lord like Apophis only dared to attack Ra's border and less significant planets, testing the waters and leaving room to apologize and grovel if Ra happened to suddenly appear and ask what the hell he was doing encroaching on his territory.
Of course, once Apophis did his mischief and Ra didn't appear to punish him, chaos would ensue, and the System Lords would swoop in for Ra's resources, ships, and planets like vultures. For now, Korr calculated he had a couple of weeks before the chaos began, and that was enough time to steal everything he needed.
Under no circumstances would he waste time researching and developing technology, nor would he engage in conquests. That was too foolish when he could steal everything with impunity.
…
Korr was led to a VIP room while the Goa'uld woman gathered all the things he requested. He could request the four Ha'tak, and that Goa'uld wouldn't say a word of complaint, but if she did, it would inevitably mean assigning some lesser Goa'uld as help, claiming she needed assistance to control so many ships. There could also be questions about why Ra was leaving one of his shipyard planets unguarded, attracting unwanted attention to him.
…
After twelve hours, which Korr took advantage of to sleep like the dead, his two Ha'tak ships and the new Jaffa were ready.
Korr smiled from the bridge of one of the Ha'tak ships and sent the set destination to his First Prime, who had taken control of the other ship and was bringing the recruited Jaffa's families. Both ships were fully equipped with materials that Korr was sure he would need soon.
Korr and his First Prime's destination was a nearby planet, just six hours away (considering that the speed of a Ha'tak ship is approximately thirty-two thousand times the speed of light). They entered orbit and descended one of the Ha'tak ships to steal the Stargate and its DHD.
With the Stargate in their possession and being in orbit of the planet, Korr sent all the Jaffa's families to their own planet and left three hundred Jaffa with him to maintain the ships' security. He then set a new destination: Earth.
Korr still didn't know the exact address of Earth's Stargate, but he knew its position in space thanks to the navigation charts of the Ha'tak ship. He needed to go to Earth, as that was his fourth step in his technology theft plan.
…
One day after leaving the shipyard planet, Korr arrived at another planet and also stole its Stargate and DHD. After that, he took several hours to give instructions to a group of two hundred Jaffa, praising their ego and promising them impossible things like any shameless populist politician, to encourage them to serve him enthusiastically and prevent them from thinking he was unworthy.
These Jaffa had previously belonged to Ra, and for them, becoming servants of a lesser Goa'uld would be a disgrace. So, Korr didn't make it clear to them whether they were now his Jaffa or still serving Ra, keeping their doubts and avoiding a potential rebellion. To do this, he showed them the image of Ra appointing him as his envoy, and they all obeyed without complaints.
The mission Korr assigned to them was to stay in orbit around that planet to use the Stargate and explore the specified worlds he had outlined. These worlds were part of the Abydos trail that he needed to explore to determine which ones he had to visit in his search for technology.
In ten days, when Korr reached his destination, he would contact them to request a progress report.
The Jaffa might face difficulties on various planets, as these could have inhabitants, and there was a possibility of being attacked or killed, but Korr had no other quick and efficient option to explore the planets. The only order he could leave for the Jaffa's safety was to explore stealthily.
Korr had been clear in his instructions: they should not engage in conversations, only explore and return at any sign of danger. They were to take note of details about the landscape, any ruins they found, and the type of population they observed.
Once he finished giving his orders, Korr loaded everything he could onto one of the ships and left two hundred Jaffa with their instructions and a Ha'tak. Immediately, he began his journey through hyperspace. This journey lasted ten days.
Korr wasn't idle during that time, only sleeping three hours a day and spending the rest of the time modifying one of the cargo ships. He installed a set of advanced sensors, comparable to those of a Ha'tak, and crafted some de-icing tools with plasma cannons and other tools he would need.
His creations were rudimentary but functional and precise, and that was what mattered. To carry out all these tasks, Korr set up a workshop in one of the ship's compartments, prohibiting access to the Jaffa.
…
"My god, we have reached the destination point," reported his First Prime, whom he had left in charge of navigation.
Jet should be in his territory, ensuring that the other Jaffa maintained their loyalty, but for Korr, his territory was secondary, and the most important thing was to preserve the loyalty of the Jaffa accompanying him.
Korr, who was giving the final touches to the cargo ship's sensors, smiled satisfied. He had ordered to exit hyperspace outside the solar system to avoid detection by the Ha'tak ship.
"Ten of you, come here," ordered Korr, and five minutes later, ten Jaffa, his First Prime, and himself embarked on a journey to Earth in a camouflaged cargo ship.
…
Korr had selected a planet under Ra's dominion that was close to Earth to carry out his plan of stealing ships and resources. Although Earth was part of Ra's domain, he had abandoned it, and the planets where Korr could obtain the resources he needed weren't as close. Additionally, this area was in conflict because Ma'chello, an extraterrestrial scientist, and his people were waging a guerrilla war against the Goa'uld. Therefore, the territory was dangerous, and Ra wouldn't build shipyards there. But now that he was on Earth, Korr had managed to take another step toward his divinity.
…
The cargo ship reached Earth in a few minutes, and once on the planet's surface, Korr began to track Antarctica for the Stargate located there. Thanks to the Ha'tak-like sensors on the cargo ship, he found it easily, although it was covered by layers of ice that required the work of the Jaffa and their de-icing tools.
…
Two hours later, Korr stood in front of the Antarctica Stargate, which was actually part of an ancient outpost. However, at that moment, he couldn't activate it.
"Bury it," ordered Korr to the Jaffa.
Korr wasn't there for the Stargate; his goal was to ensure that the SGC and SG-1 didn't accidentally arrive at that location. He couldn't take it with him because he couldn't fit it into his cargo ship.
The Jaffa quickly used the tools he had created to dig into the ice with powerful plasma rays and bury the Stargate there. This way, the Stargate wouldn't activate under any unforeseen circumstances.
The Stargate wasn't the only reason, nor the most important one, why Korr was there, as while the Jaffa were burying the Stargate, he used another device full of sensors to locate organic matter.
Just a few minutes later, Korr got a signal and indicated to the Jaffa where to aim their plasma drills.
…
Two hours later, Korr was grinning from ear to ear, sitting in his luxurious room on the Ha'tak. He watched as a pair of highly precise plasma tools thawed the body of an above-average-looking woman with short hair down to her shoulders.
When the woman was thawed, she remained unconscious, but Korr didn't wake her; instead, he laid her on her back and cleared her neck to leave his current host and switch to the Alteran woman's body.
Upon taking possession of his new host, she remained asleep while Korr read her memories, shaking his head internally at the wasted life of the Alterans. For them, entertainment was scarce, as they were supremacists who refused to mix with other species, considering them inferior, and avoided interfering in the development of any culture.
They were true tree-huggers. Korr almost fell asleep out of boredom watching their memories of thousands of years, but he woke up when the woman's mind showed signs of awakening.
Korr hurried to seal her mind and left her in a coma. He wasn't sure if he could control an Alteran, and he didn't want to attempt to fight against a woman on the path to ascension, with telepathic, telekinetic, healing, and other abilities.
Korr made his new host go back to sleep and stood up, disposing of his old host. Although his old host remained alive, he would soon die due to the severe damage Korr had inflicted when leaving.
Korr quickly grabbed the portable healing device, surprising himself by questioning what he was doing while healing his old host, feeling a strange concern in his chest. Korr frowned, but he didn't resist healing his old host. He would have done it anyway, despite having a sarcophagus to which he could have simply tossed him.
A few minutes later, the fanatic who was his former host was kneeling before him. Korr summoned his Jaffa and welcomed them with a glint in his eyes, making it clear that his god had a new host.
…
Six hours later, Korr had turned the power source of his Ha'tak into a subspace power source to boost the hyperdrive's output. He had also modified the shields to make it invisible, and now it was in orbit around Earth.
With all these preparations, made possible by the knowledge of the Alteran he had acquired as a host, and after ensuring that his weakened state due to the Alteran virus affecting his host disappeared, Korr activated the Stargate. First, he sent his former host back to his planet and then called the Jaffa he had left behind on the exploration mission, requesting their reports.
…
Two hours later, he learned that the explorations were not yet complete, and twenty Jaffa had not returned. Korr halted the exploration and transmitted Earth's coordinates, so an hour later, the Jaffa would communicate with their Stargate.
Korr activated the DHD of the Stargate in his ship so that the Jaffa wouldn't arrive at the SGC but at his ship. They had already confirmed one of the addresses he was looking for, but he didn't receive information about the second, which was the repository of ancient knowledge.
Korr decided to let it go, as it wasn't necessary. The Alteran, now his new host, had enough knowledge to continue his plans without the repository of ancient knowledge, so continuing to search for it was a waste of time.
After the Jaffa finished delivering their reports, Korr traveled through the Stargate to the second Ha'tak and also modified its power source to a subspace one. He adjusted the shields to make it invisible. This took only four hours because he already had experience and knew what to do.
At the end, the ship went from a speed of thirty-two thousand times the speed of light to over seven hundred thousand times the speed of light. This didn't compare at all to the Daedalus, which would be built on Earth in the future and could travel at over fifty million times the speed of light in hyperspace and over three hundred sixty million times if connected to a ZPM as a power source. However, the Daedalus used Asgard hyperdrive technology, which was thousands of years ahead of the Goa'uld.
Korr also hadn't created a power source from scratch; he simply made an adaptation and didn't change any parts. In short, he just patched it up, as he didn't need more.
…
After finishing the modifications, Korr instructed the Ha'tak to be taken to the outskirts of the solar system, activate its camouflage, and hide behind the Moon. Thanks to its new speed, reaching Earth would now take half a day instead of ten days.
After giving his orders, Korr crossed the Stargate back to Earth. He wasn't idle and modified his Kara Kesh to add an Alteran personal shield, which, unlike the Goa'uld, moved with him and didn't need him to stay still. He also added the ability to become invisible. These additions were for his safety. The shield worked automatically; it didn't need to be activated, meaning he wouldn't die defenseless like a fool.
…
An hour later, with a guard of fifty Jaffa, Korr arrived on the planet Argos and, like a mobster, entered the village of the Argosians, moving as if he owned the place, ordering them to beat anyone who got in his way and searching for their stash of nanites, which the Argosians used as a special seasoning in the preparation of meals for special celebrations.
Korr knew this because, in the original series, O'Neill was infected by nanites in this way. Confirming that he had the nanites, Korr returned to the temple where the portal was and took the statue of the Goa'uld that was there without providing any explanation.
The statue contained a control artifact that was a Goa'uld computer, but that wasn't what Korr was looking for, as he had dozens of Goa'uld computers. Korr's main goal wasn't the nanites, as they were secondary. He would get the advanced version later. His main goal was genetic and biological information because this Goa'uld was a genius.
The Goa'uld had made several incredible discoveries and had extensive knowledge of genetics and human anatomy. Thanks to this, his test subjects were exceptionally healthy despite spending the day doing nothing but eating. Additionally, one had to consider their accelerated growth, which would kill any other creature.
Therefore, the technology that kept them alive during these modifications was thousands of years ahead of Earth in terms of medical technology and beyond what any Goa'uld could achieve, including the System Lord Nirrti, who called herself a genius in human genetics.
Korr downloaded all the data stored by the nanite control artifact and then created his own control interface. This way, he gained the most advanced knowledge in genetics and human biology in the entire galaxy, perhaps even in all galaxies, as the Asgard didn't have that level of knowledge about human biology and genetics despite their superior technology.
Korr didn't inject himself with the nanites since changing the genetics of the Alteran body he now possessed would be very difficult. He would have to spend years adapting the nanites to gain only a few advantages like healing or regeneration.
As for eternal youth, he could forget about it. The Alterans had incomparable intelligence, like the Asgard, and while his current brain could contain massive amounts of information, compared to the advantages of a human host who, using nanites, could be almost immortal, an Alteran body wasn't worth much.
Korr had changed to acquire knowledge, familiarize himself with the abilities of a semi-ascended being, and be able to use Alteran technology thanks to his genes, but he didn't plan to keep this body. Besides, it didn't meet his standards; he still found it ugly.
Despite obtaining nanite technology and having the ability to create replicators, Korr refrained from trying it, as completely modifying the nanite control program would take a long time. He had better things to do than spend time creating technologies that already existed and were just waiting for him to discover them.
…
Korr didn't have all the knowledge from the ancient repository and relied on the knowledge of his host, which wasn't as extensive as that of the Alterans as a whole. He didn't fully know how to create ZPMs, probes, or nanites, so he knew he still lacked information. However, he decided not to continue exploring, trusting that he would obtain all Alteran knowledge later when traveling to Atlantis, which was exactly what he planned to do next.
To travel to Atlantis, Korr had to dial from Earth's orbit because that's the only way the call would work. Secondly, in this timeline, due to his intervention, the Atlantis expedition wouldn't exist, and the city's shield would be depleted when he arrived, causing it to fail when the city's portal was activated.
This problem would force him to make a few detours, but the fact that the Atlantis expedition didn't exist also meant that Janus's time ship would be in Atlantis, and he could use it to solve his energy problems, so he wasn't worried about it.
With all this, Korr was already prepared to leave, and the energy he would need to call Atlantis would be provided by the subspatial energy source of the Ha'tak ship, which he had modified earlier. Now he awaited the arrival of the second Ha'tak ship to begin this phase of his plan.
…
Korr took a six-hour rest, and upon waking and taking a bath, the second Ha'tak ship had already arrived.
Korr gathered a group of ten Jaffa to accompany him, placed the ship in orbit around Earth, hidden by the stealth system, and called Atlantis. The portal connected without any issues.
Korr left instructions for the Jaffa to return and protect the territory, leaving a garrison of fifty Jaffa for both Ha'tak ships. They were instructed to activate the portal three times a day at specific times and keep it sealed the rest of the time.
Thanks to the DHD, as long as his portal was active, he didn't run the risk of being connected to the SGC. In case SG teams tried to dial his portal when it was active, the Ha'tak ship had sensors capable of detecting it, so his Jaffa could deactivate it. If this plan failed, Korr had ordered the use of zat guns to send the invaders elsewhere after capturing them.
Once he finished giving his orders, Korr and the selected Jaffa crossed the portal.
Once they crossed, they arrived in a dark room that the Jaffa illuminated…
The city began to shake, and Korr confirmed his suspicions, while the Jaffa turned pale. Korr already knew what was happening because the tremor could only mean that the city's shield was failing. As he was there, this wasn't the timeline where Dr. Weir traveled to the past and left everything prepared for when the shield failed, and the city emerged.
With Korr stealing everything in this timeline, the Atlantis expedition wouldn't even exist. Therefore, when the shield failed, the city would flood, and his host and the Jaffa would drown.
As the city continued to tremble, Korr, standing tall, walked to the side.
"Follow me!" he said with confidence and a Goa'uld voice to the frightened Jaffa.
His tone oozed contempt, so the Jaffa were ashamed of their cowardly attitudes, straightening their backs to follow him while showing solemn expressions.
…
A minute later, they reached the jumper bay, and it wasn't hard for Korr to identify the time machine, which was also a jumper. This time machine was built by Janus, and it was how Dr. Weir escaped when the shield failed in her timeline.
Korr wasted no time and boarded the Jumper, along with the Jaffa. Korr went to sit in the pilot's seat, while the Jaffa entered the Jumper, and the door closed.
The space was somewhat cramped due to the extra artifacts, temporal devices attached and part of the time machine, but the Jaffa managed to fit inside.
As the Jaffa settled, Korr powered everything up. He didn't have to familiarize himself with anything since Atlantis was already built before the Alterans left the Milky Way, and his host had witnessed its construction and was also familiar with these transports, which Sheppard would later call Jumpers in an alternate timeline.
Korr didn't rush to fly because that wasn't what he wanted to do. As soon as the jumper floated, he activated the temporal artifact because he didn't want to leave Atlantis, just go back to the past, to a moment when the shield wasn't failing.
To ensure he wouldn't encounter the Alterans, Korr programmed his departure nine thousand five hundred years into the past.
…
Korr felt a strange sensation, and for a second, it seemed they entered hyperspace, but in the next millisecond, they were still in the Jumper bay, which, outside the interior of their Jumpers, remained in darkness.
"Get out," ordered Korr, opening the back hatch of the Jumper.
Korr exited after the Jaffa, and they were surprised that everything had returned to calm.
Korr didn't explain that they were now nine thousand five hundred years in the past, and the ZPMs powering the city, which in the future would be depleted, were now at full capacity.
Korr returned to the control room and connected the consoles to deactivate all security measures of the database and take complete control of the city, while the Jaffa watched him with wide eyes, praising him as a god when they saw the lights turning on, and the city obeying him. The city recognized its host and granted him access to its systems.
Korr thought about his next step. He needed to prevent the sea from engulfing him when he returned to the future. For that, it was evident he needed a power source. He could make a regular one using Atlantis and scavenging materials there, but that was work, and this was a heist; there was no time for work.
Korr smiled because he already knew where he would find a ZPM. In fact, he knew where there would be more than one ZPM, thanks to the memories of his current host. Still, that could alter the timeline and create a disaster affecting his later plans. He couldn't risk it, having an energy source available that he already knew wouldn't impact history if he took it.
With a plan to address his energy deficiencies, Korr had to think about what he could steal in this place because he had time, and his Goa'uld madness had calmed a bit due to the semi-ascended mind of his current host, though not much, and he still hurried to develop a treatment.
Now that he was in the past, Korr could study the Alteran knowledge stored in Atlantis's database…
"What transmigrated person would do such a thing?" Korr wondered in his mind. The Alterans had technology to create knowledge transfer devices in seconds. He didn't need to study more than necessary to build that artifact and then use it to download the information stored in Atlantis's database into his mind.
With his plan decided, Korr looked at his Jaffa.
"We'll go a whole week with only water; meditate to save energy," said Korr, and the Jaffa nodded without any complaint, not even a reluctant expression.
"Excellent soldiers," thought Korr with satisfaction. Their discipline was impressive, undoubtedly his species, the Goa'uld, were superior beings, able to create these Jaffa…
Korr shook his head in his mind, annoyed by his outburst. He got to work and accessed the computer to view information about knowledge transfer technology.
…
A week later, Korr had scavenged and dismantled some things to build the artifact he wanted, a kind of helmet, because the Alteran head clamp disgusted him. He sat on a bed in the infirmary, which had been his laboratory in the last few days. In addition to working on his personalized knowledge repository, he was also creating a serum because going a week without eating and only drinking water was taking its toll.
Korr put the helmet on his head, and after a light show that lasted a few seconds, all of Atlantis's knowledge was in his host's head.
Korr took off the helmet and was somewhat disconnected from the world for a few minutes, so he meditated for two hours until he was in perfect condition, and his Alteran superbrain was online again.
After assimilating all the information he had programmed, excluding history, social areas, records, civilian reports, and anything he considered unnecessary, his competence increased by a thousand.
Korr finished creating his nutrient serum based on salts and minerals and called the Jaffa for an intravenous meal that would sustain them for another week. He nourished his own body, expediting the absorption of nutrients.
After his basic needs were addressed, Korr freshened up and continued with his plan, heading to Janus's laboratory to finish his research on replicators, his main tool in all his future plans.
…
Korr took another week to create a subspace energy source for intergalactic communication, create a fake ZPM, and thoroughly study Janus's replicators, which were the Asurans, one of his failed experiments and the worst replicators ever talked about in Stargate history.
These Asurans were the mental underachievers of the family. They were human replicators with intelligence, but they couldn't even reprogram themselves; they had to be taught. Moreover, they had been hacked several times.
In Stargate SG-1, the insect replicators couldn't be hacked, not even by the Asgard. However, these Asurans, McKay, a barely outstanding human whose knowledge was light-years ahead of the Asgard, hacked them once, and then created a Trojan that was their downfall. In conclusion, the Asurans were a disgrace to the species.
Korr, knowing this weakness, planned to attack them using it, and with the codes in his hands, stored in Atlantis's database, he feared nothing from them. They were part of his future theft plan.
Now Korr had to go for a ZPM to fix the city's energy problem and prevent the shield from failing when he returned to the future. To execute this plan, Korr went to the Jumper bay.
"Get in," ordered Korr, and when the Jaffa were settled, he set the temporal displacement to three thousand years before Christ, then descended to the portal room and activated it, dialing the Earth's coordinates.
The portal connected without any problem because, at this moment, Ra still ruled there. Korr passed the Jumper through the portal and emerged in a desert. There was no one around, but that was normal. He activated the Jumper's camouflage to explore and find a nearby village where Ra's palace was.
Korr took no risks and studied the entire area, creating a path, marking all possible threats, and then returning to the outskirts to leave the Jumper.
"Wait here and don't come out unless someone approaches. In that case, stun the intruders and make sure they're okay until I return," ordered Korr, and made himself invisible with a thought.
The Jaffa showed the due astonishment as he walked away.
Upon leaving the Jumper, and as no one was watching, Korr allowed himself the indignity of running to Ra's pyramid.
Korr was five thousand years in Earth's past, when Ra ruled. Here, in Ra's treasure room, was a ZPM that SG-1 once stole in the original series, using the time machine. But as it now belonged to Korr, that wouldn't happen, and this ZPM would be his.
…
Korr infiltrated Ra's pyramid, guarded by his Jaffa, and located the treasure chamber where he opened the door in front of two Jaffa guards who searched everywhere while he entered, took the ZPM in plain sight, swapped it with his fake copy, and walked out again. The Jaffa found nothing and returned to their positions.
…
Korr ran back to the Jumper. His heist took him two hours because the village was not small, and locating the treasure room took some time.
…
Upon reaching the Jumper and confirming that there were no changes and his Jaffa were still waiting, he rested for half an hour. A god could not appear before his servants sweaty and tired.
…
Regaining his breath, Korr appeared to his Jaffa, who were surprised to see him reappear and once again praised his power. Korr nodded solemnly.
…
A few minutes later, Korr returned to Atlantis.
To activate the portal to another galaxy, Korr used the subspace energy source he created in Atlantis. This energy source was a small disc, and when connected to the portal, it would only serve for one activation. It would then disintegrate into ashes due to a security system, leaving no traces behind. Korr had no intention of leaving loose ends.
When a Jaffa connected the small disc to the Stargate and returned to the Jumper, Korr dialed Atlantis, and the Jumper crossed.
Once in Atlantis, Korr made another temporal jump and returned a minute after the moment he left before, nine thousand five hundred years in Atlantis's past, a little over four millennia in the current timeline.
Upon arrival and leaving the Jumper in the bay, Korr wasted no time and programmed the available ZPMs to work one at a time. He then requested a report on the exact time it would take for the first ZPM to discharge.
With this information, Korr returned to the time machine and traveled to the future, a few days before the ZPM would be depleted, to move on to the next one, replacing the exhausted one with the one he stole from Ra. He then requested information on how long the next ZPM would last and made another temporal jump a day earlier to repeat the process with a difference.
In this last step, Korr didn't jump a day earlier because he wanted to arrive at the exact moment of his departure so that his theft plans would not be affected by temporal differences. Therefore, Korr dialed two seconds after his initial time travel.
The Jaffa, who had no idea what the heck he was doing going in and out of the time machine, as they were unaware of the multiple temporal jumps, could only blink, not daring to ask what the heck he was doing.
…
Upon reaching his final destination in this step of his plans, Korr exited the Jumper and looked around. The bay, darkened by the energy-saving mode he had imposed on the city, lit up upon his arrival, and the city connected with his mind, awaiting his orders.
Korr glanced around as if searching for something, but after a few seconds, he grimaced in disappointment. He had expected to see a double of himself, as happened on several occasions when the time machine was used in the series, creating some disaster in the timeline, but there was no Korr around. He made a second grimace of disappointment. But it didn't matter; time travel wasn't the only way to duplicate himself, and in his original plans, he had already considered this.
…
Korr went to the ZPM room and removed the program he installed earlier to put all ZPMs back online. With the ZPM he stole from Ra, the city now had one fully charged energy source, and another that still had dozens of years in energy-saving mode and a few years of normal use, so he wasn't in a hurry to bring the city to the surface and left it submerged.
With all the information from Atlantis, a full energy source, all portal addresses, including the planet where the Arturo Project was located and the planet of the Asurans, Korr only needed one more thing from this city, so he returned to Janus's laboratory.
With theft ideas in mind, Korr headed to Janus's laboratory and created an army of replicators in the form of spiders, consisting of ten thousand units. There weren't enough materials to make more. Their supreme and primary order was to obey him. As the laboratory was automatic, it took him no more than an hour to carry it out.
These insect replicators were not the same as those inhabiting the Asgard's galaxy; these replicators were created entirely by him. That's why he could give them a central, personalized command. The reason they took the form of insects and blocks was due to his own knowledge as a transmigrant. He was a fan of insect replicators and would never create an atrocity like the Asurans.
On the other hand, creating human replicators like Replicator Carter and Fifth, intelligent and thinking beings, was a very different matter. But now, he didn't have the materials for that; first, he needed to take the Asuran city and seize all their resource reserves.
As for his plan to take the Asuran city, with all the knowledge of Atlantis and Asuran programming codes in his hands, the Asurans were already as good as dead.
Korr looked at the insect replicators around him, awaiting his orders. He had injected nanites into his own body, not to enhance it (because that would require extensive studies), but to create a network between his brain and the replicators, connected through his mind.
His network was digital and could be intervened and isolated, but the Asuran replicators were forbidden from programming themselves or interfering with the programming of other replicators, so he was safe.
As a secondary security measure, the central order for the insect replicators was to obey him, and this couldn't be changed. All secondary orders could be, but if a secondary order violated the primary one, it would simply be ignored.
Korr also knew the weak point of this central order, and that weak point was himself. The central order of the replicators couldn't be changed, but he could be controlled by someone to use him as a puppet and give orders to the replicators through him.
In the programming of secondary routines, Korr programmed security measures for an eventuality like this. Still, if someone knew this method, they could also imagine that these security measures existed, so they would first erase them and then act upon him.
On the other hand, at this moment, there was no one who could pose such a threat, so Korr let it be and looked at his replicators to begin his attack on the Asurans.
…
Korr marched to the portal room, accompanied by ten pale Jaffa who watched in horror at the replicator army.
…
Once his replicator army was in position, Korr activated the portal, dialing the Asuran planet stored in Atlantis's database, and sent the replicators in a full-fledged attack, followed by himself.
Upon crossing the portal with the scared but determined Jaffa, Korr saw several human-form replicators, motionless like statues, while his army of creatures attacked them both physically, devouring their bodies ruthlessly, and in their systems, freezing their programming with the codes from Atlantis's database, sharing all the information about what they were doing with their current master, which was himself.
Of course, the human-form replicators were a more advanced version than the insect replicators, with their own intelligence, and they were already trying to override the codes that had paralyzed them. Unfortunately for them, Korr was not part of the Atlantis expedition, and his knowledge of replicators was not superficial. Being offline for five minutes, while he had free rein to do as he pleased in the city, whose security measures were as deficient as Atlantis's, was their greatest misfortune.
…
After the five minutes passed, his army of creatures had already consumed half of the human-form replicators, and the other half had been overwhelmed. Korr had taken advantage of their downtime to take control of their formation chambers and was mass-producing replicators, which swept away the human-form replicators with extreme ease, leaving their consciousnesses locked and completely at his disposal.
Korr was not merciful and erased them all after ensuring he copied all their files.
…
When the battle ended a few hours later, and the planet was under his complete control, the Jaffa shuddered as he began to laugh like a madman, filled with euphoria and satisfaction. He even felt the urge to dance, but a god couldn't lose his dignity and stoop to a child's level, so he settled for reviewing the report that the captured city transmitted about his spoils of war.
Firstly, he had the main city, which was a replica of Atlantis. In Korr's opinion, it was a mediocre city; its defensive capabilities were good, but its offensive capabilities were lacking, its size was too large, and he didn't like its design. He wouldn't use it.
He also had twelve Aurora-class battleships, which were horrible and poorly designed ships—trash.
All of this didn't mean that Alteran technology was trash because, in some areas such as shields, power sources, and weapons, it surpassed Asgard technology. Korr only considered their designs trash. Their ships weren't what he would choose for war, and Atlantis and its copies were a mess.
Outside of all this, what truly made his heart race was the ZPM creation method. Despite being disposable batteries, there were twenty of them in the city, and also the technology of probes that could penetrate any shield. There were large quantities of stored materials—trinium, naquadah, neutronium, iron, and more.
In addition to all the technology, there was also valuable information for his upcoming assault on the Wraith, and Korr wasted no time in getting started. He felt euphoric due to all the chaos he was causing.
…
After two hours, Korr was ready for his next step. Obtaining information about the location of a Wraith hive from the replicator database, he took five jumper ships and filled them with replicators to traverse the portal and initiate a stealthy attack, capturing the hibernating hive and plunging all its inhabitants into a deep sleep and an illusion created by the replicators.
…
Once everyone was asleep and trapped in the virtual reality, Korr used the telepathic abilities of the Alteran he now controlled, combining his power with the replicators' illusion to extract all the information from the Wraith queen's and engineers' brains.
This took him a week, but it was another fundamental step on his path to divinity, as Wraith biotechnology was on par with that of the replicators. It was one of the most powerful and advanced technologies in history.
The Wraith had matter-to-energy storage technology, their transport technology was more advanced than the Goa'uld's, and their biological ships multiplied the efficiency of any energy source by ten. Therefore, if he combined all the Alteran technology with Wraith technology, Korr was sure to obtain technology beyond the replicators. Moreover, the Wraith were experts in cloning and could provide him with a worthy host.
Korr didn't rush this time and took a month to develop the technology he needed.
NA 1: For those who don't remember; the Alteran that Korr used as a host was the one in the Antarctic base, affected by the plague, and who was left behind during their migration to the Pegasus galaxy. In the series, she was called Ayiana. She was a semi-ascended being.
NA 2: Remember that the first Atlantis expedition ended up dying when the city's shield failed in the first timeline. What we saw in the series was the second expedition, in the second timeline. From the first timeline, the only survivor was Dr. Weir, and this led to Janus's time machine being taken with him when leaving Atlantis. In this story, none of that happened because Korr took the place of the first Atlantis expedition and changed that future. Therefore, Janus's time machine remained in Atlantis and is now in Korr's hands.
NA 3: Don't worry about the content; I've written this fic up to Season 9, when the Ori arrive. However, this is a translation, and even though I had done it before, it has too many errors, so I'm doing it all over again, and it takes time. I also don't have beta readers, so I suppose there will always be errors, especially with personal pronouns, but I'll try to do my best. If you notice an error in names or pronouns, please comment so I can correct it.
