Gazing into the impenetrable darkness ahead, Shen Yue knitted his brows. As pessimistic as Jin Xin's comment might have been, it did have a point.
If Nuanyu left them an unexploded bomb and sealed them up here, her intentions were indeed a bit like what Jin Xin had mentioned.
"Are you afraid there might be danger ahead?"
Shen Yue asked back, finally stopping in his tracks. He stood by a rust-covered iron barrier and studied it for a while.
He signaled Jin Xin for the semi-automatic rifle, and used the butt of the gun to hit the rusted barrier a few times. When he removed the obstruction, a black hole was revealed.
Shen Yue first fired a few bullets into the hole. Hearing the echoes and not seeing any dangerous creature rush out, he finally poked his head in for a look.
It was all pitch black above; he couldn't make out anything. But Shen Yue was sure this was an air duct for the air-raid shelter.
