Chapitre 11: Chapter 11 Jin Xin's Tactics

Hai Mingzhu's admiration for Shen Yue and Jin Xin, which was initially to please them, seems utterly genuine now.

"Doesn't Advisor Shen actually see the lipstick on Wang Xinghai's face?" Hai Mingzhu asserted her opinion, "My vision is fine. When I entered Wang Xinghai's room, the first thing I noticed was him, and I didn't see any lipstick on his face."

Shen Yue looked at Hai Mingzhu with slight surprise, "You're right, I didn't see it either."

"But the way they were seated, indeed, they could easily leave lipstick marks." Hai Mingzhu analyzed, "Did Advisor Shen exaggerate the lipstick detail to make Wang Xinghai believe that you had complete knowledge about their affair? Anyway, Wang Xinghai must have been confused then, not knowing exactly where Secretary Zhou had kissed him."

Shen Yue nodded his agreement.

"How did you see the diamond ring in Wang Xinghai's drawer?" Hai Mingzhu sincerely asked, "Even if Wang Xinghai's drawer was not tightly shut, from our perspective at that time, we wouldn't be able to see inside."

"The Giant Building is a bit eerie, a lot of its decorations have to do with Feng Shui," Shen Yue suddenly said.

"And then?" Hai Mingzhu blinked curiously.

"Wang Xinghai's room is no exception, it includes at least three Feng Shui associated items - the Wealth-attracting Fish, Wealthy Tree, and Wealth-gathering Mirror." Shen Yue was quite familiar with these, "The Wealth-gathering Mirror and Reflective Mirror are different, the latter repels negative energy, while the former attracts wealth to oneself."

Hai Mingzhu, who had no idea initially, began to understand, "So to attract wealth, the mirror would have to reflect Wang Xinghai, and you saw the inside of his drawer through the mirror? But how did you…" She was both satisfied with the answer and left with more questions,"How did you deduce that it was a couple's ring?"

"There's a Tiffany Boutique in front of Wang Jue Wedding Photography Studio. When Jin Xin and I were in front of the studio, the man taking our picture had a phone in his hand, while the woman had a Tiffany flyer, and the biggest picture on the flyer was advertising Qixi Festival couple's rings, exactly the one from Wang Xinghai's drawer, which also happened to be the most expensive one. Presumably, Secretary Zhou, too fond of short distances, went straight to the nearest Tiffany Boutique to buy matching diamond engagement rings."

Hai Mingzhu couldn't help but laugh, finding Shen Yue's description of expressing love rather peculiar.

Jin Xin laughed, "You have a sharp eye, to have noticed that! The hardest part is remembering all of this. It's not surprising that Secretary Zhou bought the diamond ring in a nearby boutique, and Wang Xinghai, for the sake of his image, wouldn't want this personal affair to get out. But with Mrs. Wang following Giant Li and his wife abroad in recent years, Secretary Zhou, feeling emboldened to mess around in the office, aimed to latch onto Wang Xinghai. Her possessiveness might have compelled her to show off her possession of Wang Xinghai to other employees at an early stage."

Hai Mingzhu was awestruck, knowing that understanding these things was straightforward, but those who could actually apply them were very few.

After some thought, Hai Mingzhu looked at Jin Xin, "President Jin, you had already started investigating Wang Xinghai, and Advisor Shen has already breached his defense. You took advantage of the situation, making Wang Xinghai believe that you've had him under surveillance for a considerable amount of time, thereby manipulating him into following the process?"

Jin Xin praised, "You're very smart, you've figured out all the details so quickly, unlike some employees, who remain clueless no matter how many hints we give. You'll be a great asset after a few more years of refinement."

Hai Mingzhu was somewhat disheartened, "I just found out that all the knowledge I acquired thus far in psychology seems insignificant in comparison. After shadowing you guys for half a day, I've learned far more than I did in my four years."

"You must have picked up this bootlicking skill from your psychology program." Jin Xin couldn't help himself.

Hai Mingzhu let out a chuckle, "You saw right through me." But in a blink of an eye, she seemed more worried than Jin Xin and Shen Yue," We can't let Wang Xinghai know about this. If he finds out we do not have an ace up our sleeves, he might stir up trouble."

"He won't find out, thieves always have guilty consciences, Wang Xinghai would not gamble his future with us." Jin Xindidn't seem to care much, "Moreover, once our proposal reaches the layer above Wang Xinghai, many things will no longer be within his control."

While they were talking, Jin Xin's cell phone suddenly rang. He glanced at it and said, "We have a result. Giant Industries has issued an invitation; tomorrow we will…" He took another look at the cellphone to confirm, "Tomorrow evening at eight, we will go to Giant Building for the formal interview."

"Wang Xinghai certainly operates efficiently." Shen Yue murmured to himself.

"Why is it at eight in the evening?" Hai Mingzhu was rather incredulous. She snatched the cellphone, looked, and realized it was accurate. She sheepishly handed the phone back to Jin Xin, "President Jin, it's not that I don't trust you, but this timing they've scheduled seems rather odd."

You just don't trust me! Jin Xin thought to himself but didn't verbalize it.

"Do I meet you guys at eight in the morning tomorrow?" Hai Mingzhu volunteered.

"Not so early. Shen Yue and I have other matters to attend to." This clearly implied that they didn't have the time to take on a new employee for now. After pondering for a moment, Jin Xin decided, "Tomorrow evening at seven-thirty, meet us in front of the Photography Studio at the Giant Building complex."

Hai Mingzhu nodded repeatedly. When she noticed Jin Xin still looking at her, she couldn't help but ask, "President Jin, any other instructions?"

"You full?" Jin Xin noticed that Hai Mingzhu ate about half of the four servings of beef pot, yet she kept up with the conversation without any interruptions.

Hai Mingzhu responded by letting out a burp. Before she could say anything, Jin Xin said, "You can go home now."

"Isn't there still a few hours left? We agreed on a half-day today." Hai Mingzhu proved herself as a dedicated employee.

Jin Xin smiled, "You can go worry-free, your wages won't be deducted."

Once the young girl left, looking pleased yet somewhat skeptical, Jin Xin picked up his phone and appeared to be surfing through something. Shen Yue was quietly eating. When Jin Xin looked up, Shen Yue asked without raising his head, "Did you find anything?"

He seemed to have a natural intuition, knowing Jin Xin's movement almost without looking.

Jin Xin feigned ignorance, "Find what?"

Shen Yue lifted his head, "The way you voluntarily paid Hai Mingzhu for a half-day's work isn't your style. Did you take the opportunity to install a Trojan in her phone when you paid her?"

Jin Xin laughed, "I knew I couldn't fool you!"

Navigating through the interface reflecting Hai Mingzhu's phone, Jin Xin went through a few program records and checked her album, muttering, "It seems like this girl is not lying. Her contacts are all a bunch of local college students, and her album consists of pictures with classmates, most of which taken at the most famous university in this city. Her classmates all seem quite attractive, but there aren't any individual photos or call records with men. It seems like she's still single."

"Do you suspect her?" Shen Yue quietly asked, looking at the teacup in front of him, "Are you always this suspicious?"

As lunchtime approached, the restaurant was noisy, but there was a moment of silence between the two.
