Chapitre 32: Chapter 32: Top Lawyer as her Godmother

The tall woman stepped forward, one step at a time, as if she were in a daze or a dream. "You're really Avery, right?"

When Avery nodded, the woman swept her off her feet, swirling her in a full circle before letting her stand on the ground.

"Hahaha! I thought I'd never see you again! How long has it been?" The tall woman, Georgina, pulled Avery into a tight hug and kissed her cheeks.

"Ten years," answered Avery.

Georgina Lawrence was her mother's best friend, and in a way, Avery was her godchild. However, Georgina had lived in another country for several years before returning eleven years ago, where she first met Avery. So, the two weren't that close. Still, Georgina would always dote on Avery whenever she saw her.

Now, after ten years of not seeing her godchild, Georgina couldn't help but happily lead Avery into her office.
