Chapitre 7: Chapter Six

-Akira POV-

Sweat rolled down my body as the tattoo on my back supplied me with the cursed energy I was depleting rapidly.

I stared at the black and white version of myself, it looked like my double was straight out of TV that didn't yet have colors and sound.

Each step he made was silent, which made him harder to track.

Huffing out the remaining air in my lungs and refilling them the next second, I dashed forward, My fist meeting his forearm as he grabbed my forearm, intending to flip me over.

Letting myself be pulled upward and feeling my legs leave the floor, I grasped his forearm in my own grip. My back impacted the ground a second later and I pulled him down, bringing my lower body to wrap my legs around the arm I was holding push with one leg against his bicep.

Flipping him over, it landed on my body and I tried to keep him on the ground. Not being quick enough, it allowed him to slip out of my hold and back off.

Getting off the floor, my eyes zeroed in on his body as he rushed at me, throwing a right hook at my head. Tilting my body ti the side, my left fist came out in an uppercut that connected.

My cursed energy flashed black and everything became as clear as the sun on a cloudless day.

I felt the flow of my cursed energy through my body like never before, I could hear my own heartbeat, the blood rushing around my body, the ragged breaths that were leaving me and I knew I was ready.

Bringing my hand up and performing a hand sign, I chanted the technique I had been trying to master for the past three weeks for a few hours each day.

"Domain Expansion!"

The cursed energy in my body exploded and I didn't try to direct it, I had learned better. Allowing the domain to form on its own, I just supplied it with cursed energy so that it could do what it was supposed to.

The training room me and my clone were sparring in became brighter and then disappeared into white, the walls vanished as my cursed energy formed into a barrier around us and soon enough, we were standing in a pure white field.

I felt the surrounding energy, my won cursed energy rush toward my clone and I didn't stop it.

Information rushed into my brain, its fighting style, what it could do, its durability, what weapons it preferred, and which of them he was proficient in.

I already knew this on an instinctual level, because I was the one that made him, but having the information to consciously process was surprising.

My clone stopped, straightened up, and stared at me blankly.

I breathed out, straightening up myself, and looked around the blank space of pure nothingness. Well, this was something, wasn't it?

Frowning, I looked down at my hand and clenched my fist. I felt the difference right away. My tattoos were more defined, they looked lifelike, I felt something shift on my leg and I realized that the jaguar tattoo that I used for recon was actually moving.

My eyebrow arched when the said jaguar moved into the three-dimensional plane and looked around for a moment before staring at me curiously.

"Congrats, dumbass, you are the first fifteen-year-old to have a domain expansion, do you feel proud of yourself?"

I looked back at the clone, who had his arms crossed and I realized what was going on right away.

"Ah, great, you gained one of my personalities?"

He just nodded, giving me an unimpressed look.

"Of course I did, I am in your mind, this place is an extension of your mind and technique. Did you expect anything different? Man, that asshole was right, you can be a dumbass sometimes."

My eyes narrowed as I glanced at the ground. Shaking my thoughts away, I looked back at myself and gave him an irritated look.

"Well, since you're so talkative, can you tell me what I can do in this place?"

I waved a hand half-heartedly around, and my clone just sighed like he was disappointed and sat down, crossing his legs.

"Hell if I know, Dumb fuck, it's your domain, you keep us locked away like we're the plague, honestly, I miss the days when you actually talked to the voices in your head."

I rubbed the bridge of my nose, if this was how I was it was a miracle my friends could stand me at all, it was like listening to your own voice on a recording.

"I'ght, I'm out, got things to do I'll figure this out later, the classes are about to start and I haven't slept at all."

My clone waved a hand half-heartedly and I cut the supply of curse energy to the barrier. I watched as it dissolved and everything went back to normal, I was in the training room again, my clone was back to the expresionless face he had and the Jaguar went back to my leg.

I turned around, walked to the door, and picked up the shirt I discarded when I started training.

I had a class to get to in a few hours.

___

"Man! Where's yaga-sensei?"

I rubbed at my eyes, exhaustion catching up to me, and shot a glare at the loud asshole that was being deliberately loud at my expense.

I half expected my friend to walk through the door with two energy drinks, complaining about how he didn't remember shit about what he studied yesterday and then proceed to pull answers out of his ass like no one's business while I sipped on the energy drink he got me.

Unfortunately, that wasn't meant to be, this wasn't a university, this wasn't even the same world.

Looking at the said asshole, I picked up a notebook that had my math homework and tossed it at his head. The notebook soared through the air, coming to a stop mid-air a few inches away from his white hair as his blue eyes stared at me with amusement.

Gojo Satoru, the self-absorbed child who thought he was the next best thing since sliced bread. Which, news flash, he wasn't.

"Calm down, Satoru, something must have held him up, you know how he is about being on time."

The one who tried to get the pretty boy off my nerves was Geto Suguru, the other first-year who was in the same class as me.

Closing my eyes for a moment, I tried to tune the banter out when I felt something poking my shoulder from the other side and I looked over.

"You've been quiet today, are you alright?"

Ieiri Shoko, the natural user of the Reverse cursed technique, basically, the white mage of the squad.

I just nodded at her question.

At least someone was concerned about my well-being.

The door slid open, getting everyone's attention as Yaga walked in, his eyebrows furrowed in what seemed like frustration.

He was only like that when there was a mission on a school day, or something really bad happened. Either way, the day only seemed to be getting worse.

Hey, at least I got Domain expansion down, there was a silver lining.
