Chapitre 5: Chapter Four

-Unknown POV-

My skin burned as I grit my teeth. Pain coursed throughout my body as I fell to my knees, refusing to utter a single complaint or let out a single scream.

Finally, after what seemed like hours, it stopped as soon as it came, leaving me heaving on the wooden floor, wet from sweat.

Grunting, I got on all fours, breathing in a lung full of air, and stood up fully.

A few deep breaths later, I looked down at my hands, observing the black lines that appeared on them that weren't there before.

Looking around for a mirror, I walked closer and looked at my back, it went as expected.

Intricate lines adorned my back, extending from the base of my neck, to my shoulders, down my spine, and right below my waist.

Two lines came down to my hands and curving around my forearm and down my palm to my fingers.

I clenched my fingers, channeling energy through them, and felt it drain away, leaving me even more tired than I already was. Concentrating, the energy returned to me from the newly created tattoos on my back and I smiled in triumph.

My technique, which I named "Meaning Of Art" made my body a canvas, I could make patterns, drawings, and symbols, and assign them a meaning.

For example, the one on my back was energy storage, much like a power bank used to charge a phone, so naturally, I had to charge it first, but when it was charged, I could call on the energy.

I didn't know how much I could charge it with yet, but this was still a huge advantage.

Stretching out my arms, I put on a long-sleeved shirt and exited the room I was staying in for the time being.

Everything was going smoothly so far, except for the "Find allies" part.

Unfortunately for me, the dorms I was staying in belonged to "Tokyo Jujutsu High" which was a school for sorcerers, which I was.

The main purpose of "Jujutsu sorcerers" was to exorcise curses. Those little monsters were concentrated on negative emotions.

The school was to train young sorcerers who could use cursed energy to combat the curses and protect the oblivious population.

The only problem was, that the sorcerer population was scarce, the number was so low that there were no first-years present right now.

I sighed, running a hand through my hair. Maybe putting on a shirt when being sweaty enough to flood the Titanic wasn't such a wise idea.

Pfft, who cares?

Not me, nope.

I looked outside the window while walking down the hall, not spotting anything important. The campus was desolate, second years were on missions and third years died off on a mission that had an unexpected special grade.

The curses were rated by grades, starting from four, the weakest, and then to one, the strongest, but there was a special grade above that.

The gap between grade one and special grade was considerable, some sorcerers never reached grade one, but cursed spirits were born that way. Or, a more apt way of saying it was that they were created that way.

The fear and hatred was a great contributor. For example, if a large population feared a certain animal, for example, a tiger, the curse that would be created would most likely be in the shape of the said animal.

It didn't stop at that though, wilderness, natural disasters, deep ocean, fear, hatred, or any type of negative emotion could create a curse.

It was only a matter of time.

"There you are, Akira."

I looked in front of me, spotting Yaga, the one who brought me here, Still wearing his sunglasses even when indoors. Sorcerers were weird like that.

Raising an eyebrow in his direction, I waited for him to continue.

"What happened?"

Blinking, I looked around before figuring out what he meant.

"Oh, I used my cursed technique."

I just shrugged, rolling up the sleeve of my shirt and showing the markings to him. He hummed thoughtfully, and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.

What was this? An anime? People hummed a lot, kind of reminded me of a friend I had in my past life. Hope he got out of the constant funk he was in.

"Very well, I won't ask. But are you ready for your training?"

I nodded, the pain was already gone and only slight soreness remained, but I could work through that.

Yaga nodded and turned around, leading the way toward the training rooms with me following right behind him.

Rolling down my sleeve to conceal the tattoos I sent a slight bit of cursed energy into it.

I have already calculated the rate at which my cursed energy restored itself in preparation for this, so it was just practice that was needed for me to channel a constant stream with no downside.

Just one step toward my goal, but I needed the correct symbols and correct meanings to give to my tattoos in the future.

Man, that is so troublesome. Designing the one on my back was a pain and the process was actually pain-inducing.

The more beneficial the meaning for me, the more painful it will be, as it seems. Or maybe it's based on the complexity of the tattoo?

Well, whatever.
