Chapitre 10: The Unit (1)
Kaguya held her spear with the blade pointed toward me. She noticed I was just staring. Alice, Snow White, and Suimin also watched. Kaguya's actions garnered the attention of the people around us.
"Kaguya, what are you doing?" Alice asked and walked forward then stopped when I held my hand out toward her to stop her.
"I see everything..~ Leo Reigns here...is The Joker." Kaguya said and smirked at me.
I stared at Kaguya then closed my eyes. "That's a very bold claim that I'm not going to prove or deny.."
'His demeanor is rather calm. I didn't even sense an ounce of nervousness from him...' Kaguya thought to herself.
"This is ridiculous!" Alice said.
'There's that defensiveness...Alice you're terrible at lying. Protecting the Joker for what reason..? Don't tell me you've fallen in love with Leo..' Kaguya thought and smirked at Alice reaction.
[Mission: Defeat Kaguya]
"If you're so confident that I am the Joker, how about you put your skills to the test." I said and placed my palm against the handle of my sword.
"Leo, you can't! You've just recovered from the fight that happened two hours ago!" Alice said and grunted as Snow White held her back. "H-Hey!"
"Y'know I have found it strange that Leo was Unranked for so long. Even normal civilians are ranked by number." Snow White said.
"I agree...it is strange especially since all of our enemies...can't be defeated by anyone lesser than a Jack Ranked being..." Suimin said.
"Enough talk! Now it's time to get into exposing the truth!" Kaguya said and twirled her spear.
I watched Kaguya and closed my eyes. 'I can't hide the fact that I am Joker, but I can hide my Rank thanks to Usagi. I can't let them find out I'm Joker. Not yet...I don't really have the full trust of Snow White yet like I do with Alice...'
Kaguya dashed toward me and slashed at me. She noticed I hadn't moved and stopped her attack. She grunted softly and stared at me. "You didn't dodge...Why?"
"Me attacking would only prove that I am Joker right...but I was sure you'll be expecting me to not attack so I had a contingency plan.." I said and opened my eyes.
Three clones appeared around her and released chains at her, binding her to the ground. She was taken off guard and grunted. The chains drained her energy, forcing her to drop her weapon.
"Check." I said and turned away.
[Mission Complete: Defeated Kaguya]
Kaguya was released from her chains and fell to her knees, softly panting. Her energy was returned to her and she realized the battle taught her nothing about me. "How..? In only one move..?"
"I learned that trick from the Assassin. I call it Shadow Step. It allows me to be in multiple places at one via my Shadow." I said and pointed downward.
Kaguya looked down and noticed my shadow was missing. She watched as my clones disappeared and my shadow returned to me. "Just who are you really? Are you the Joker or not?"
"At this point they all suspect you." Joker said and appeared next to me and time had stopped.
I looked at Joker and crossed my arms. "Giving me free will this time huh?"
"I don't want control over your body at the moment..." Joker said and walked forward. "You shouldn't feel afraid of telling the truth. Snow White can't defeat you anyway because you can just copy her abilities.."
"I just don't think it's the right time to tell them.." I said.
"You hiding the truth is causing more damage to Alice than it is to you. I know you don't 'love' Alice, but you care for her right? Her sanity is important too and she's going crazy because you're hiding the fact that you're Joker which also makes her want to protect your secret more." Joker said then turned to look at me.
"Then what? What should I do?" I asked.
"Even a smart, calculated man like you asks his Unhinged Side for answers. Not everything can be solved with logic and calculated movements. Take that risk...free this burden off Alice's shoulder." Joker said then disappeared.
I closed my eyes and exhaled. I opened my eyes then my mask appeared on my face. Everyone looked at me and Alice's eyes widened. I looked around and noticed everyone staring at me.
"I'm sorry Alice...but the truth must be known. No one else can be The Joker...no one else can prove to being as smart as the Joker is. I do not wish to be identified as The Joker however. I wish to be known...as Zero. The number that ensues Chaos. The number of The Fool. The man of infinite trumps. I am The Joker." I said and my red eyes shined.
Snow White looked at me in disbelief. Alice was ready to witness the worst outcome, but Snow White just smiled and sighed.
"If it were...anyone else...I would have killed you right then and there. If you had just been someone else, been someone I didn't like...I would have you dead. I would've exacted my Justice upon you, but I like you...I like you Leo so that's why, I will accept this truth." Snow White said and held her arms.
"Me too...honestly, I realized you were the Joker the moment we saw you walk around the corner of the Amusement Park... I do understand the reason for you to lie about who you are... The Jokers of this world are known to be evil entities who's only goal is to kill the Aces, but you're different..." Suimin said.
Kaguya stood up and nodded. "When I noticed you protect Alice during your fight against the White Samurai, I knew you were different...you were The One. Your intelligence and your power along with the Chaos Unit, most would be driven mad with power like that...but it's fortunate that you were the one to obtain the Chaos Unit."
Alice watched as her allies didn't attack me. She was quite happy that we could all get along. Her nightmares remained only a figment of her imagination.
The five of us decided to head back into the hotel for the night and relax.

I woke up the next morning and noticed Alice was still asleep. I looked at the ceiling and felt a weight lift from my shoulders. Everyone accepted that I was the Joker and took it well. All I needed to do was learn about the Chaos Unit and understand how it works. So far I know it's activated through Madness and is fueled by Bloodlust and Wrath. I needed more information and experience with the Chaos Unit. I decided to look up what I could about the Chaos Unit on my phone.
Alice shuffled around and began to lay upon me with her head rested upon my chest. She really grew comfortable with me which I didn't mind. I was quite happy that she was comfortable enough to remain asleep instead of being immediately awake.
I found information upon the Chaos Unit and began to read about it.
{The Chaos Unit is one of Three Original Wonder Guardians. The Chaos Unit is fueled by the Madness of the user. The more Mad the user becomes, the stronger the Unit becomes. Only Jokers can wield these Units. The Chaos Unit also feeds on the Sins and Madness of others.}
'Chaos Empowerment...The Chaos Unit also has its own sin. Sacrilege...is that my Sin..? It has to be since I am fighting against a Divine Figure..' I thought to myself.
{The mortal enemy to the Chaos Unit is the Order Unit. These two units are destined to fight until one wins and takes over the other to form the Balance Unit.}
I looked up at what the Order Unit looked like while running my fingers through Alice's hair. I noticed it looked vastly similar to the White Samurai. No...it was the White Samurai that was constructed from the Order Unit.
I set down my phone and sighed softly. I had only more questions than answers. I had to know about the Order Unit now. The only way for me to truly understand these two units was to see for myself their true capabilities.

"It's about time you two woke up." Snow White said as she smiled at us.
"I was already awake. It was Alice who decided to sleep in." I said and crossed my arms.
"And you obviously enjoyed it taken that you were playing in my hair the entire time." Alice said and smiled at me.
I blushed a bit and looked away. "You had something in your hair. I was just getting it out."
"Mhm, alright." Alice smiled.
"Morning..." Suimin greeted as she walked toward us, yawning.
"Speaking of sleeping in, I'm surprised you even woke up. You only wake up this early when we have things to do. We don't have anything in—"
"See ya...." Suimin yawned and walked back to the elevator to go back to the hotel room.
"Giving that woman an option is the worst thing to ever happen." I said as I watched her walk off.
"I agree, but that's her charm..~" Snow White giggled softly.
"I was meaning to ask something." I said.
"What?" Snow White asked.
"I'm currently learning more about the Chaos Unit...I wish to understand how it truly works so when I face off against my mortal enemy, I can be ready and use my abilities to their maximum potential. So far I have nothing and I want to learn as much as I can so that I'm ready." I said.
Snow White held her arms and closed her eyes. "There are some high level enemies outside the city and we do still have a few more people of the King's Units to kill so we have options. I guess you're just wanting the experience huh?"
"Yeah. All I really need is the experience. If you're able to help me obtain it.." I started.
"Oh I'm willing because we all kinda need experience. After all before we face off the King, we have the Queen, the Jack, and the King's Ace. That goes for all the other regions as well...We are the Aces of the Heart Region, but there are four of us and our Power Level as been divided by four so we are actually the Weakest Aces in the region, but are able to keep up with the King's Units." Snow White explained.
"This will be much needed as we all need to train up for the upcoming adversaries. We've gotten far together... I wish to be at the end with all of us together.." I said.
"Don't worry, with all of us together, we will see it to the end. No matter what we have to see it through." Alice said.
"I agree...also Kaguya should be down at any minute. Let's wait down here for her then we can devise a plan together over breakfast." Snow White said.
Alice and I nodded and the three of us waited in the lobby for Kaguya.
