Chapitre 135: Until the End of the Deep Sea

Within the game, Hyperion and Crew found themselves in the ruins of a once-thriving civilization known as "Haiyuan(abyss) City," now guarded by its successor.

Their mission was to utilize the massive teleportation device, "Eye of the Abyss," to venture into the quantum sea in search of the lost [desire] gem.

However, on the eve of their operation, a mysterious individual kidnaped Einstein, whose whereabouts subsequently became unknown.

To further complicate matters, the Eye of the Abyss began to malfunction, its cause unknown.

Amidst the ensuing chaos, Bronya made the decision to plunge into the quantum sea alone in her quest for the [desire] gem.

Within the quantum sea, she encountered a boy named Joachim. He advised Bronya that in order to reach the depths, she would need to confront her innermost fears and overcome her past.

In the first world she encountered, the first person she saw was Teacher Himeko. Bronya was taken aback and wished to approach her, but the classroom setting prevented her from doing so.

It was then that she saw Cocolia for the first time and realized that she too had become a teacher at St. Freya's Academy.

When Bronya posed a question to her, Cocolia responded simply, stating that there were numerous ways to provide stoves and bread to children in orphanages, and equally as many ways to obtain these items.

However, she emphasized that there were certain things that only St. Freya Academy could offer, such as hope and freedom, the most important gifts for any individual.

Cocolia's words were spoken softly, painting a picture of a truly dedicated and caring mother in this world.

As Bronya navigated through this world, she gradually came to understand that the Seele in this world was an outsider, much like herself. She began to suspect that this might be the Seele she had been searching for.

...

Saint Freya Island

"Oh? Cocolia, have you ever had such a moment??" Tesla laughed as if she had found something very interesting.

Einstein chimed in, her voice light yet filled with curiosity, "It's quite fascinating. Would someone as cunning as you consider such a thing?"

Her calm gaze seemed to penetrate Cocolia's facade, as if attempting to decipher the secrets hidden within her heart.

Cocolia remained silent, her head bowed, allowing her long, golden locks to shield the complex emotions playing across her face.

After a prolonged silence, she finally spoke up, her voice tinged with a hint of bitterness. "What if I did entertain such a thought?"

"Of course, I'm referring to opening a school to educate them… Perhaps, if I were familiar with St. Freya, I might even consider sending my children there," she elaborated.

She paused for a moment before continuing, "Children living in harsh, icy conditions need nothing more than a warm shelter and food. That's sufficient for them, but for me, it's not enough."

"Seeing this scenario in the game… it could be seen as a fulfillment of one of my desires," she mused.

Tesla, taken aback by this revelation, responded, "I didn't expect you to possess such a compassionate side." Her eyes held a strange glint as she regarded Cocolia with newfound respect.

It was as if she was seeing her colleague for the first time. In her heart, Cocolia had always been cast in the role of the villain.

"Regardless of the circumstances, you've chosen this path," Einstein stated, her voice steady and unflinching in the face of Cocolia's revelations.

"Yes, no matter what, I can't abandon my ambitions, nor can I turn a blind eye to the suffering of the children," Cocolia responded softly, her eyes reflecting a myriad of complex emotions.

She was a paradox, a person of contradictions. On one hand, she offered them her genuine care and concern, yet on the other, she used them as stepping stones to further her own goals.

"Do you regret it?" Tesla asked curiously,

"Regrets? There's nothing to regret," Cocolia declared. "This was my decision. Regardless of the circumstances, I was destined to end up here."

"The so-called world bubble in the game is merely an illusion of beauty," she added, her tone contemplative.

"At this moment, you seem more like a philosopher than a game character," Tesla remarked, her attention returning to the unfolding game plot, seemingly unfazed by Cocolia's introspective musings.

...

in second world, players encounter a version of Otto that diverges significantly from his portrayal in the main storyline.

In this world, Otto opts for escape alongside Kallen, with the pair working together to seal away the source of evil. Despite their efforts, Kallen is unable to evade her tragic fate, succumbing to a curse two years later.

Some players have theorized that Theresa, in this world, is the biological daughter of Otto and Kallen, a stark contrast to the main storyline where she is depicted as Otto's granddaughter.

after his Saint died from curse they both get, Otto decides to withdraw from his responsibilities and adopts the life of a priest on a remote island.

Haunted by his past mistakes and grappling with the Curse damage that has been done to his body, Otto hopes that Joachim can take his place and continue to look after the orphanage. This wish remains despite a dispute in the past that resulted in the death of Joachim's father.

As Otto lay on his deathbed, his frail body sinking into the the whiteness of the mattress, he shared his wisdom:

"A person undergoes three significant phases of growth in their lifetime. The first phase is when they learn to distinguish between right and wrong."

"The second phase," he continued, "is when they realize that not everything can be categorized as simply right or wrong."

Otto's eyes sparkled with an inner light, his voice steady yet filled with emotion as he revealed, "The third and final phase is when they understand that some things transcend the binary of right and wrong. Despite this, they choose to stand by their beliefs, accepting the consequences of their actions."

With a soft sigh, Otto fell silent, his thoughts seemingly far away.

At that moment, Bronya opened the door, revealing Joachim standing at the threshold. Having overheard the priest's profound words, he looked at Otto with a sense of guilt.

He offered an apology to the priest. Despite his current state of confusion, he expressed his willingness to shoulder this responsibility.

And with that, the world bubble was set on a path towards destruction.

...

Kallen found herself deeply moved as she observed the unfolding scene. She pondered whether her actions could have had such a deep influence on Otto.

The notion that the fate of the world could changed on a single individual's decision was almost beyond her comprehension.

Her concerns extended beyond the immediate test. She was more preoccupied with whether Otto's choice, as depicted in the plot, would manifest in reality.

The butterfly effect!

(Luo Mo: you have the biggest butterfly effect here! if you 'sleep' in a coffin and let your love knight go crazy maybe I'll be on holiday in Bali now!)

The omnipresent threat of the Honkai would compel people to take a stand, leaving no room for neutrality. Even the remote island would not be spared from conflict and would continue to require the protection of the Red Kite Immortal.

The threat of Honkai is following mankind like a shadow, and in this world bubble, it seems to foreshadow a future where the reins of Schicksal are handed over to those tainted by corruption.

At this moment, Kallen was grateful that she had overthrown their tyranny and not allowed the harm to remain until now. Otherwise, the world may really become like that world bubble.

She couldn't help but acknowledge her own significance in the grand scheme of things. A helpless chuckle escaped her lips at this realization.

Her gaze fell upon the towering stack of documents before her. A wave of exhaustion washed over her as she gently massaged her temples, attempting to alleviate the burgeoning headache.

She found herself wondering how Otto, in the alternate world, managed such an overwhelming amount of paperwork. (he don't)

The thought was enough to make she want faked a dead scene and retire in Siberia, just life with digging potato.

However, she was plagued by doubts about whether Theresa was ready to take on the responsibilities that came with her position.

Could she truly depend on Theresa to step up when the time came?

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sight of the academy's financial report. The figures had increased sharply, a fact that made Kallen pause.

She found herself thinking, "Luo Mo, why don't you consider changing your last name to Apocalypse? It would be fitting, given the circumstances…"

But she quickly dismissed the thought, asserting, "No, no, no! Unless you manage to rescue Theresa a million times over, I will not entrust my precious granddaughter to you!"

...

"Indeed, people might find this version of Otto more appealing!" Elysia exclaimed with a sigh, her eyes glued to the unfolding plot. She marveled at the transformation of Otto's character.

Even if the once irksome Otto made different life choices at a critical moment, he could evolve into an entirely new persona!

From being perceived as a 500 years old villainous figure to embodying the role of a gentle priest, Otto's character arc was truly remarkable.

On the other hand, Mobius seemed less enthralled. "How dull," she remarked, her attention drifting away from the plot. She turned her gaze towards the scene outside the window.

The sight of the clear blue sky, fluffy white clouds, and the neighboring villas and houses held more interesting for her. To Mobius, these everyday sights appeared far more intriguing than the plot at hand.
