"Is this the game you've been raving about, Rita?" Durandal asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity as she took in the vibrant graphics and intricate gameplay. "It's quite fascinating! And my sister is the protagonist?" She was instantly captivated by the game, her previous thoughts of training momentarily forgotten.
"But I'm a bit concerned about the Third Herrscher and Wendy… Are they really appropriating characters to be displayed in game's universe?" Durandal questioned, her brows furrowing slightly in concern.
Rita, standing off to the side, couldn't help but chuckle at Durandal's reaction. "Oh, Durandal-sama, there's more to this game than just your sister," she said, her voice filled with amusement. "According to the game's creator, there will be a different Schicksal Bishop featured as well!"
As she spoke, Rita moved closer to Durandal. Her cheek brushed against Durandal's shoulder as she leaned in to get a better look at the screen. Her hand gracefully swept across Durandal's waist before coming to rest on Durandal's hand that was skillfully maneuvering the game character. "Here," she said softly, guiding Durandal's hand. "This character can execute a branching skill when maneuvered like this."
The atmosphere between them grew tense for a moment. The scent of Rita's perfume filled the air around Durandal, causing her heart to flutter slightly. She was momentarily taken aback, forgetting to chastise Rita for her current actions.
"But isn't Lord Kallen the Schicksal Bishop in the game?" Durandal asked, trying to regain her composure.
Rita let out a soft laugh. "No, not in this game," she replied, moving even closer to Durandal.
"And look here," Rita continued, pointing at the screen. "Even you were tricked by Theresa-sama!"
Durandal gasped in surprise. "What! Is Great Aunt Theresa really so unreliable? I can't believe she would even try to deceive me." The revelation left Durandal greatly shocked.
...
As Kallen watched the unfolding episode, she couldn't help but reflect on the surprising turn of events. "It's rather unexpected that both the Third Herrscher and Bronya have Arrested by Anti-Entropy. And to think that Bronya still remains a part of the Cocolia forces," she mused, her gaze fixed on the screen.
She found herself pondering over a poignant question, "Would one truly prefer to destroy the chip in their brain rather than cause harm to their friends?" It was a thought that lingered, echoing in the silence.
A soft smile tugged at her lips as she watched the young Valkyries in action. "Such youthful and adorable Valkyries! It's only at this tender age that one can hold such unwavering faith in their friends and acknowledge the true essence of friendship, isn't it?"
Her smile faded as she thought of Selina and the elderly woman. Once comrades, they were now adversaries. Both had met their end. Yet, amidst the sorrow, there was a glimmer of hope. More innocent Valkyries were still alive, their spirits unbroken.
For their sake, it was crucial to forge ahead!
kallen voice broke through her thoughts. "Little Theresa is making quite an impact in the game too. And with her new character armor, she looks absolutely adorable!" Karin's soft laughter filled the room.
"However," Kallen continued, her smile fading into a thoughtful expression, "the storyline seems to be lacking depth. There's not much information to be gleaned from it. Otto is yet to make an appearance. Perhaps it's time we nudged him a bit!"
.....
"Winnie… Wendy's gone? How could Cocolia do this!" Theresa's voice trembled with disbelief. For a moment, she forgot that the tragic scene unfolding before her was merely a part of the game.
"But why Wendy? She was innocent!" Theresa's voice echoed in the room, her heart aching for the virtual character.
"By the way, didn't the boss say that this is a healthy and sunny healing game? Maybe that fox was telling a lie!" Himeko said helplessly.
Truth be told, Himeko herself was skeptical. Her involvement in the voice acting had given her an insight into the game's storyline. A healing game? She wasn't so sure.
However, she knew it was important to console Theresa first. "Perhaps it's just a minor setback in the game. And remember, the real-life rescue mission for Wendy is still underway. If that fails… well, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it."
Theresa took a sip of her bitter melon juice, her mind gradually drifting away from the game's plot. "I must admit, my character looks quite impressive in the game!" She couldn't help but admire her S-ranked Altered Black Core Erosion and Valkyrie-Oath characters.
"Just hope they don't decide to revamp it!" she added with a chuckle.
Himeko shook her head and changed the subject. "Theresa, have you finished packing up your villa yet? Luo Mo will be arriving soon, right?"
Theresa hesitated before responding. "Um… let him wait another day. I mean, he's joining St. Freya Academy! And as the head of this academy, I have to oversee his arrival!"
...
"Kiana, take Mei and leave this place," came the urgent command. Bronya had already taken the drastic step of burning the biochip.
As they watched the unfolding events on the screen, their hearts ached. Mei had fallen, Wendy had vanished, and Bronya had turned against them. Kiana was left alone, struggling to survive amidst the chaos.
Bronya, now clad in black and red armor with eerie dark red lines etched on her face, stood defiantly against them. The voice of Bronya, who now referred to her as 'mom', was filled with panic and anxiety. Her speech was intermittent, revealing her inner turmoil.
From these fragmented sentences, Kiana, Mei, and Bronya could deduce that a chip had been implanted in Bronya's brain. The aftermath of burning the chip suggested that Bronya's condition was far from optimistic.
"Bronya believes that Mei's life is more important than her own," came the startling revelation.
"I didn't realize you valued friendship so much, Bronya!" Kiana exclaimed, her expression a mix of surprise and admiration. It was perhaps the first time she had ever complimented Bronya.
"I didn't realize that I was causing so much trouble for you all… becoming a hostage…" Mei murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. She felt a pang of guilt for not putting up much of a fight.
"It doesn't matter, Mei. I'll get you out of here no matter what," Kiana reassured her, rubbing against Mei in an attempt to soothe her guilt-ridden heart.
"It's not your fault, Mei-san. It was Bronya who attacked you first," she added.
"Cocolia mom? Would she really do something like that?" Bronya pondered inwardly.
"Anyway, Bronya's new armor looks pretty good! And Auntie's character is so tiny in the game too!" Kiana remarked, trying to lighten the mood.
"Listen, Bronya," Kiana said suddenly. "First things first, Mei is mine. Stop saying that she's more important than your life. That's my line!"
"Kiana, don't be ridiculous!" Mei protested, blushing slightly at Kiana's bold declaration. She quickly turned her attention back to the game.
(Elysian Realm mini-series - Elysia wants to go out)
"Look who it is! It's Kevin!" Elysia exclaimed, raising the screen in her hand. Displayed on it was the PV Video of the World Serpent chapter. The Thirteen Flame-Chasers in Underground had lived together for 50,000 years. Who among them wouldn't recognize Kevin, the first one?
A figure emerged from the shadows, transforming into a green-haired mature loli. Her snake-shaped pupils added a chic sense of danger to her appearance, reminiscent of the serpent that tempted Adam in the Garden of Eden - dangerous yet captivating.
Kevin merely glanced at her without retorting. "Elysia, you shouldn't be receiving messages from the outside world! You should be resting!" he admonished.
"Hmph! Everyone keeps telling her not to get exposed to outside messages, but when it comes to me, they're desperately trying to stop me! The first one? The second one? Ridiculous!" The green-haired loli, Mobius, retorted, clearly disgruntled.
"Mebius, you're dangerous!" Kevin didn't say much else and walked away.
Elysia watched him leave and then turned to Mobius with a soft laugh. "Of course it's because you're not as cute as me, Mobius. Come on, let me squeeze!?"
"Get off me, you fat pink nuisance!" Mobius snapped coldly as he flicked her hand away from his face.
Elysia's face froze. "If you say that, I'll get a little emotional too!?"
"None of my business! I'm leaving! Leave me alone!" Mobius retorted before walking away.
"Ugh! Aren't people curious about the cute humans of the new Civilization!?" Elysia mused aloud. She seemed a bit troubled today. What could be the reason?
