Janet's POV
It has been over four days since we have been traveling through the forest. At first, I thought that the journey would have lasted only a day or two, but I guess I was wrong.
Even though the journey has lasted longer than I expected deep down, I still wish that we could spend more days in the forest before reaching Moonstone Pack.
Yes, I know that you will be wondering why I will be wishing to spend more days in the forest, despite how risky it is.
Well, the truth is that these four days I have spent in the forest with Leroy have been the best moments I have had since my parents died.
During these four days, Leroy has taught me many things, like how to hunt and how to fight with a sword.
I have also discovered what he meant by saying we are not alone in the woods.
Actually, we weren't the only ones in the forest; there were also some rogues who lived permanently in the forest; they weren't traveling through the forest like us, but the forest was their leaving place.
Rogues are werewolves that have either been kicked out of their pack or left on their own free will.
Among these rogues, there are the good ones and the bad ones.
The good ones only hunt for a leaving, while the bad ones not only hunt for a leaving, they also rob any weak werewolf they find in the forest.
During the four days we have spent in the forest, we haven't met any good rogues, only bad ones, and they have attacked us twice, but fortunately Leroy was always there to fight them.
Despite the fact that Leroy has this cold demeanor that makes him seem unapproachable, he has a good heart. Sometimes I envy the female werewolf that will become his mate, and I also wonder why the moon goddess hasn't revealed his mate to him. Maybe because of his cold demeanor, and usually those who have a cold demeanor are hardly romantic.
"I can hear you," Leroy said to me from where he was sitting down while cleaning the blood on his sword.
Oh, oh, I almost forgot our wolves have formed a bond, and because of that, he can clearly hear and feel what I'm feeling, even if I don't say it out loud.
"Enough with the daydream, Janet; it's time for our training, and I will advise you to shift back to your human form immediately," he commanded me while standing up.
"Come on, I have always wished for a big brother, but I never imagined that they would be so annoying like this. Must he always be commanding me?" I muttered angrily at myself.
"Yes, I have to be stubborn, girl. Now shift back to your human form immediately, or I will help you do it," he barked angrily at me, and without hesitating, I quickly shifted back into my human form.
"Catch," he said to me while throwing my clothes at me, and immediately I caught it and put it on.
Afterwards, I walked to where my sword was, picked it up, and started swinging it in the air.
As I was swimming, I didn't realize that he was staring at me angrily.
Immediately, our gazes met. I quickly comported myself.
"Are you done?" He asked me with an icy glare, but I remained silent while avoiding his gaze.
"I want you to attack me with your sword," he said to me.
"What!" I exclaimed with a surprised tone.
"What?" he repeated after me. "Attack me," he commanded me with an angry tone.
Without thinking, I started running towards him with my sword, not minding the fact that he wasn't holding his sword.
Once I reached him, I started swinging my sword at him in order to cut, but I couldn't because it was only striking in the air; he was too fast for me.
It was as if he already knew in which direction I was going to strike, and he was always quick to dodge whenever I struck.
When he got tired of dodging my strikes, he immediately caught my hand as I was attempting to strike him, and without hesitating, he flung me away.
"Wow, Janet, is this what I have been teaching you? He asked me. His voice was filled with disappointment.
"No accuracy," he blurted out. "Is this how you are going to defend yourself if, actually, some rogues attack you in my absence?" He asked me with an icy glare. "Sorry, my dear, but you will already be dead before my arrival," he said to me. There were not any emotions in his voice.
With that statement, I angrily punched the floor before picking up my sword, and without hesitating, I angrily dashed towards him while aiming my sword at him.
After some minutes of striking in the air, I was still flung away once again like a piece of garbage.
Once he flung me away, he shook his head in disbelief before proceeding:
"Janet I'm sorry to say this, but I think that the future Alpha was right all along; you are very weak."
Those words kept repeating in my ears.
You are weak.
You are weak.
I don't know the reason why he said those hurtful words to me, whether he really meant what he said or if it was to get me enraged. I didn't care anymore; all I wanted was to make him pay for saying it.
Without hesitating, I picked up my sword and dashed towards him once again, but this time around, instead of attacking him first with my sword, I first attacked him with my left fist, and as he was still trying to block my fist, I immediately retrieved it, swinging my sharp blade towards him.
Before he could understand what was going on, I had already given him a deep cut on his arm.
"Argh," he shrieked in pain as blood started gushing out of the area where I had struck him.
What have you done Janet?
I can't wait to see what will happen next.
