Chapitre 32: Chapter 31

"Do you not feed on their blood?" she asked, choosing her words carefully.

"And why would you think I would do that?" he replied.

"Maybe because you are a vampire. That's what your kind does, isn't it? You feed on blood?" She fidgeted with her fingers, and when Azrael took a step further, she took more steps back until her back was slammed against the wall, and he was now standing next to her.

Before she could react, Aurora's hand brushed against a delicate vase that sat on a nearby table, sending it toppling over. She froze, bracing herself for the crash. But then, in a blur of motion, Azrael's hand shot out and caught the vase before it hit the ground. With a gentleness that belied his imposing figure, he placed the vase back on the table. Then, he turned his gaze back to Aurora, who was standing a few feet away, her eyes wide with shock.

"I am offended," Azrael spoke, sliding his tongue over his sharp canines, causing Aurora to panic slightly.
