Chapitre 36: Resonance Town
Another two months quickly passed while everyone was busy improving their skills.
Sounds of horse carts approaching the village can be heard in many different directions.
The settlers have finally arrived!
"Big sister! Big bro! We're baaaackk!"
"Oh Adelaine! Good work! Welcome back!" Helena said to her little sister.
It seems that the Resonance chamber of commerce is also back from their business trip.
Blanc was quite lucky that everyone managed to return on exactly the same day.
This can help save some time for him since he doesn't need to repeat the announcement every time a new settler caravan arrives.
On the way, some paranoid settlers even thought that they made an error in their decision and that they were being abducted to be sold as slaves.
Seeing the village with their own eyes dispelled the worries of the new settlers.
It seems like the promises of the recruiters were legit.
Blanc quickly called everyone together in front of the newly created central plaza.
The plaza had a big stage in front and this is where he planned to make his announcements in the future.
He walked up on the stage and calmly scanned the crowd.
Blanc then smiled and said.
"Everyone, My name is Blanc Rougenfort and I am the current village chief of Resonance village. I am grateful for your decision to entrust your lives to my aides in search of a brighter tomorrow."
"You made a decision which requires courage and I applaud everyone for their bravery. I will make sure that you will never regret your decision.
"You will no longer need to worry about basic necessities such as food, house, clothing, and safety. That is my promise to you."
"Everyone's arrival here today marks a new age for our village and I am excited to announce to everyone that due to your addition to our population, we can finally take the next step.
"From a village of limited population, we developed step by step and now, we are ready to be called Resonance town."
"Here, in Resonance town, you will be given a hut free of rent, free food, and free clothing for the first three months to help you establish your footing."
"During these three months, you may approach the town hall to register your credentials and choose your job based on your specializations."
"You will be paid in silver coins according to your job mastery and after three months, you shall be responsible for your own food, accommodation, and clothing."
"Three months from now, the town will charge everyone 5 silver coins every month for their hut accommodations and will no longer supply free food."
"Everyone will need to purchase or hunt their own food after three months."
"Additionally, you can save silver coins and purchase land from the town hall in which you can cultivate your own crops and raise your own animals."
"The current farm, animals, and fishes is owned by the town and the farmers who want to farm for the town will be treated as employees. As employees of the town hall, they will receive wages for their hard work."
"In the future, once they have enough money, citizens will be able to purchase land and do anything they want with their land. They can even start their own companies if they want to."
"If you want to start a business in the future, make sure to register your business in the town hall first and get the appropriate documents."
"Unregistered businesses will be declared as illegal and the land will be confiscated by the town."
"Also, we are happy to announce that we will finally open our entertainment sector as we now have enough population and a circulating economy."
"Restaurants, pubs, and adult entertainment buildings will be opened up for everyone. Alcoholic beverages will be introduced in the town however, illegal substances which can slowly destroy a person's mind will not be tolerated in this town."
"Lastly, a list of jobs will be posted on the bulletin board in front of the town hall tomorrow. You will be able to see the job descriptions along with their corresponding wages in order to help you decide which career path to take."
"That is all from me. If you have any questions, you may proceed to the town hall tomorrow to ask for more specific details."
"The warriors will assist you towards the hut accommodation area. Of course, you may choose your own hut."
After hearing how the town will operate, both the old and new settlers were ecstatic.
There was basically no way they would starve as long as they were willing to work!
Blanc scanned the crowd.
Upon seeing that they were happy, he also left the stage happily.
After a few minutes, the warriors assisted the new settlers towards their new homes.
There were a total of 600 new settlers which were 200 more than what they expected.
This was a pleasant surprise to Blanc since more population will lead to faster developments.
After the announcement, Blanc headed towards the Resonance chamber of commerce's temporary headquarters.
Time to check everything that Adelaine purchased!
