Jaylene Ziel was awakened by the sound of the basement door being pried open. She slowly opened her eyes, only to be blinded by a flood of light streaming in.

Almost instinctively, she turned her face away from the light and towards the darkness. Having been in the pitch black for so long, her eyes could not handle the sudden intense brightness.

"Jaylene!" Joseph Thompson rushed into the basement and saw Jaylene lying on the ground, her hands still tied behind her. He quickly crouched down and desperately untied the rope around her hands.

The moment the rope was untied, the pain in Jaylene's wrists made her grit her teeth. When she saw Joseph by her side, her tears began to uncontrollably fall.

"Joseph, you're here... I thought... I'd never see you again," Jaylene sobbed, her entire body trembling as she clung to Joseph.
