"How did this get in here?" Bian lifted a black envelope off his desk. He had recently returned from the sanctuaries to find the envelope in his house.
He went through the security footage to see the black letter seemingly appear out of nowhere.
"A demigod or a very skilled surpasser," Bian concluded and opened the envelope. He wasn't scared of any traps, as a person able to deliver this envelope should not be afraid to face him directly.
"Now is the time to attack Executioner Green. Her time clone is in the sanctuaries aiming to max out her sacred-blood genes. Kill her, and I will finish off the real body in the alliance.
Obsidian Mercy"
Bian's brow furrowed as he finished reading the letter. He was slightly distressed by the contents, as fighting an Executioner had gotten him killed last time.
Now he knew about Executioner Green and her time powers, the knowledge of which made him feel even more dread.
"First space, now time." Bian scoffed at the thought of fighting such a person single-handedly.
"Obsidian means black, and mercy could mean a lot of things. Killing a person to put them out of their misery is also considered a form of mercy.
Obsidian Mercy, more like Executioner Black. Someone who knows me is an Executioner."
Bian figured out Obsidian Mercy was Executioner Black from the title alone. Since the letter was delivered to him, the Executioner obviously knew him and even knew where he lived.
"This is troublesome." Bian brainstormed for some minutes before he affirmed that he knew too little to act. He brought out a pen and wrote a response to the letter.
"Tell me her powers and location in the sanctuaries. I will take care of the rest, Executioner Black."
Regardless of why he wanted to kill another Executioner, Bian only saw a benefit. He could deal with another Executioner and might even uncover Black's identity.
"Finally, those two are online!" Bian jumped for joy when he finally noticed Han Yan and Man Tian had returned to the sanctuaries.
He was even more elated to find out they were all on the same planet. He immediately sent them a message with his home location.
...
The joy of life is friendship, Bian was reminded of this when he met his friends again. They chatted, joked, and almost cried. If 'almost' could be described as the distance from the Earth to the moon.
After their emotions settled, Man Tian and Han Yan explained some of their experiences in the third sanctuaries.
They had gathered three of the four vital ingredients needed to bring a person back to life. The last was in a forest, guarded by a treacherous beast.
Lo and behold, the forest was No Man's Forest, and the beast guarding the springs of life was the Ink Sun Dragon.
"This is interesting. The Ink Sun Dragon is already dead, there is no guardian beast anymore.
You said it lives above the clouds? I can get the springs of life and complete the set." Bian kicked back and said in a relaxed tone.
"This is serious, the Ink Sun Dragon is a berserk super creature that is nigh-immortal in sunlight and is elusive during the night. It can't just die." Han Yan responded, thinking Bian was joking.
"Yeah, it turns invisible during the night. It can absorb sunlight with almost one hundred percent efficiency to maintain its healing ability and shoot out dark beams of concentrated energy."
"How do you know about the Ink Sun Dragon? You should have only been in the sanctuaries for less than a year," Man Tian commented.
"I spawned near the No Man's Forest, and let's just say a lot of crazy things happened. And the craziest is yet to happen.
I need your help in taking care of someone. She is responsible for the war going on in the alliance and is part of the group which killed me."
"The Executioners," Man Tian and Han Yan said at the same time.
"How did you know?" Bian was surprised.
"Unpleasant and arrogant bunch, but they are very powerful. Executioner White cleared the last divinity bout in the second sanctuaries," Han Yan said with some resentment in her voice.
It didn't take much for Bian to realize she must have also participated in the divinity bout and probably lost to Executioner White.
He didn't tell them about the envelope or the temporal powers of Executioner Green yet. Instead, a snow-white snake appeared near Bian, slithering around his body until it reached his neck.
The snake opened its maw, spitting out a compass with four needles.
"What is that?" Man Tian asked.
"It's a beast soul which contains objects. The compass can guide me to the pins which we will need meet up in the sanctuaries."
Bian responded, remembering clearly that they were at different locations and even Man Tian and Han Yan couldn't meet up with each other in the sanctuaries.
After handing each of them a pin, Bian observed that the compass pointed to the two of them. Han Yan was in a region he had never heard of before, but Man Tian was near the Thorn Forest.
He told Man Tian about the Thorn Shelter and some points of interest near the Thorn Forest, like a canyon filled with rabbits, one of which should lead him to where Yaksha planted a tree that could help unlock self-gene locks.
Of course, Bian didn't forget to warn him about Yaksha, who was also a general of Ancient Devil. He told him a few more things about the forest to make life easier for him.
"You look different," Han Yan, who had been quiet, soon commented. Bian's skin was smooth and almost porcelain.
"When I evolved, jadeskin got absorbed and became jade body." Bian explained.
"So it's like a more complete version?" Asked Man Tian.
"Well... it's more of a different art altogether. And the jade body you see now is incomplete, as maintaining the complete jade body is too tasking. A normal surpasser would only be able to maintain it for about twenty seconds."
"A lot is happening in the alliance, we might not be able to maintain freedom for much longer. Let's meet up soon and kill an Executioner." Man Tian said while stretching his arm.
Bian placed his hand on top, and Han Yan did the same. On the count of three, they stood up and got ready to head back to the sanctuaries.
Three surpassers couldn't change the tide of a war, but killing a general would. The shura would lose their edge in this battle once Executioner Green died.
Bian was glad to have met his friends. Somehow, he felt things would work out with their help.
Back in the sanctuaries, Varkal's shelter was now under Hope Spirit's control. The Aerial barrier was re-established, and all teleporters were activated.
Bian was in need of more super creatures to grow stronger and have more weapons. The easiest way of finding super creatures was to attack super shelters, which would have a group of super creatures.
Before leaving the forest, though, Bian was determined to get the spring of life and the weapon Varkal mentioned. He needed a way to fly above the clouds where the lair of the Ink Sun Dragon resided.
Sacred-blood creatures couldn't fly so high above the clouds; only super beast soul wings would be able to do that.
"I only have three super beast souls: the Strength Overlord, Ivory Serpent, and Ink Sun Dragon." Bian reflected, remembering the weird beast soul of the Ink Sun Dragon.
It was a weapon beast soul, but when he summoned it, a plushie appeared. The plushie looked like a palm-sized octopus, very realistic but impractical as a weapon.
Bian observed it for a bit and noticed something amazing. The palm-sized octopus was growing in the presence of sunlight. It actually grew to the size of a normal octopus in five minutes and was still growing.
Bian was curious about how this weapon would attack. He could only command the Ink Sun Dragon to move and attack.
Ordering it to attack him, the normal-sized octopus with seven eyes between its eight tentacles turned its beak to face him. A small black light gathered and shot at his chest.
"It's weak, weaker than an attack from an ordinary creature, but it has potential. If it could grow to the size of the original Ink Sun Dragon, its attack potency would be greater than any average super creature." The beast soul of the Ink Sun Dragon was a berserk super beast soul, after all.
Watching the sun set, Bian decided to experiment with the Ink Sun Dragon beast soul tomorrow. The beast soul would release all its energy in a single attack and revert back to its original palm size.
This meant it couldn't be used for rapid fire, but would be great for a one-time devastating attack.
"Executioner Green!" Bian clenched his fist as he made a silent resolve to kill his enemies.
