"Simple, your jutsu won't work on this barrier. This is a barrier which was used to stop Dan Kato in the previous wars. Do you know what jutsu he was best known for?"
Sato waved his hand and exposed some secret information about Konoha's flame barrier.
Ino Shika Cho were at a loss, they wanted to ask why the Yamanaka's jutsu won't work here.
Swish
When suddenly a big figure flickered behind them, and put a hand on their heads.
"He is right, Kato Dan was best known for his spiritualisation technique. But this barrier was powerful enough to still trap and hurt his soul."
"Yamanaka techniques are soul techniques too. If you use mind body swap on Sato Nii, you will die immediately."
The figure explained patiently, Ino Shika Cho were shocked and quickly turned back, they looked like they had seen a ghost.
"Examiner Anko?? Weren't you dead?"
Choji trembled and stuttered, which made Anko chuckle.
"As much as it pains me to say this, I am Orochimaru's student. My life saving abilities are first class."
"Something like being cut in half isn't going to stop me. That was a snake clone."
Anko chuckled again and stopped patting their heads. She then looked at Sato's team who were trapped within the barrier.
"I followed these three because I thought the Nara boy had a solution. They are supposed to be very smart."
"But they wanted to ask for your help naively. This is upsetting. I don't have the authority to ask a different village for help."
Anko rubbed her hair, Ino Shika Cho might think asking for Sato's help was normal, as he was their friend.
But Anko knew this involved relations between great villages. Every help comes at a price.
"You don't have the authority but you this is an emergency. You can ask for help as long as it's a fair transition."
Kurenai quickly spoke, she saw hope again when Anko came here. She wanted to make sure Asuma gets help.
"That's a good idea. Wait Kurenai? You are a rebel ninja now what are you even doing here. Run away or something."
"For old times sake I will pretend I couldn't catch you. Just go away."
Anko speechlessly shooed her friend away. She was shocked when Kurenai was declared a rebel. But whatever, she didn't mind.
Konoha basically considered Anko a half rebel already, due to her connection with Orochimaru. Otherwise she should had been promoted to be a jonin, and not remain as a special jonin.
"Sorry I messed up. But please get us out Anko. I beg you."
Kurenai begged her friend for help. Which put Anko in a pickle. She rubbed her hair and sighed loudly.
"Ugh, fine. You want to save your boyfriend right."
"Sato sama. I formally ask for your help yada yada. Sorry, I don't remember the official speech."
"Just ask the village for whatever you want, you can say that I promised you on behalf of Konoha later. I don't mind."
Anko gave Sato open ended conditions. She let him decide the price of this transaction. Konoha will be upset at her either way, she didn't bother to care.
This made Sato's eyes shine. He made a serious face and stood straight.
"I agree."
"Hidden cloud will take what it wants, and in return my village will help your village survive this war."
"It's official."
These conditions were so good that Sato agreed instantly. He gets to have anything he wants and mess with Kabuto? That's a double win right there.
Anko was definitely not happy with Konoha, or she wouldn't throw them under the bus like this.
"That's great. I will get you out now."
Anko not knowing Sato was questioning her loyalty, rubbed her shoulders with a grin and bent down.
"This barrier has a weakness, although it's modified it still retains that weakness."
"If the corners are attacked by someone repeatedly. The barrier stops working."
"Normally attacking it in any way is fatal, but I have my snake summons. I can get you out."
Hiss
Anko's hand turned into a bunch of snakes, and she slammed them into the barrier.
The snakes struck the four corners and their bodies lit on fire. But more and more snakes kept hitting the corners and soon the barrier cracked.
Crack
Shatter
The barrier finally shattered like glass, Sato smiled widely and took a deep breath.
"I am out. Ahahaha!"
Sato laughed a loud evil laughter, he didn't mind the weird looks he was getting either.
He was happy, this was the last act of the chuin exams. After this there will be a two year gap and then shippuden events will begin.
Shippuden was where the original story really picked up. It was the meat of the Naruto universe.
"Let's give the chunin exams a good end."
Sato grinned and cracked his knuckles, he gave his men their next tasks.
"Darui, Samui, you two handle Ino-Shika-Cho and Kurenai's business. I will go meet the attackers."
Sato walked out of the room and lightning flickered around him. Anko quickly stood before him.
"I'll go with you."
Sato silently looked at Anko. Anko was a bit taller than him so his eyes rested just below her face.
With Anko's 'open' attitude towards fashion, Sato had to pause and think about life for a bit.
"I see, you can come along."
Sato finally spoke then flickered away. Anko flashed a big smile as if she knew what she did and ran behind Sato.
"What's our plan? Kabuto is very cautious how do we rescue the hostage?"
Anko asked Sato as she ran besides him, although this was her first time working with a hidden cloud ninja, so she didn't realize they don't have sneaky plans.
"Plan?"
Buzzzt
"The plan is I will bum rush Kabuto so fast he can't defend himself."
"You take the opportunity to save the Hokage's son, then we will think what to do."
Sato replied so casually it made Anko seem like the serious person.
"I can see him now. Ahahaha Kabuto here I come!"
"Lightning bruiser!"
