#Chapter Six
"I don't know what to eat," Serene said to Frank. "But I'm so hungry."
"I want to head to our usual place," Frank replied. "You love that place."
"Let's go," Serene said as they walked down the streets. People who passed them by nodded in deference to them and their eyes shone with greed as they tried to call out to them to stop and have a chat. But Frank and Serene simply walked past.
"I've been craving the soup lately," Frank said as they passed a cafe and he slowed down momentarily to stare into it.
"I'll have the soup too."
"Actually," Frank said. "Why don't we try this place out?" He pointed to the cafe.
"What? We've never been."
"We should try something new every now and then."
"Okay then," Serene said and they took some seats at the cafe. She looked over the menu and soon, they had an idea of what they wanted. Serene raised her hand. "Waiter, here!"
"Coming!" the waiter, a young man, called out and came over. "What'll be the order?"
"What do you suggest?" Frank asked, gazing at the young man. "I'm sure you're familiar with the menu."
"My Lord," the young man said after a long look at Frank. "Anything you choose would be the best choice."
"I know that," Frank replied. "But I want your choice."
"You're too kind."
"Well?"
"I love the vanilla ice cream."
"Hmm," Frank said. "How do you eat vanilla ice cream?"
"With a spoon, my Lord."
"Not your fingers?"
"My Lord, how do you eat vanilla ice cream with your fingers?" And the young boy laughed.
"I don't know, you tell me," Frank said.
"Will you have the vanilla ice cream?"
"If you'll be the one serving it to me," Frank said and the young boy took his order. "Serene?"
"I need some time," she said to the young boy. "Could you come back later?" The young boy nodded and left. She took the menu and looked over it, the words staring at her. But she wasn't thinking about what to order.
She was thinking about what just happened.
