Ethan jolted at the sudden sound from the other sound of the line, as he hurriedly turned to Ruthlyn.

"What happened?"

"I...don't know. The call is disconnected though," Ruthlyn replied.

"What if she's hurt? Try calling her again," Ethan requested, worry etched on his brows as he stared down at Ruthlyn's phone. One would wonder why he wasn't using his own phone which was there in his right hand.

Ruthlyn complied, dialing Shikera's number two more times before giving up.

"She's not—"

"When you spoke to her at first, did she seem angry?"

"No."

"Then why did she refuse your help? You think it's because you said I asked you to do it?" He asked again, causing Ruthlyn to sigh inwardly.
