Chapitre 47: 47:- Anxiety

Eugene's frustration was palpable as he tightened his grip on Shino's jacket, pulling him closer. His voice trembled with a mix of anxiety and anger. "Don't fool me."

Shino, realizing the depth of Eugene's nervousness, immediately adopted a more serious tone. He understood that Eugene was genuinely worried about the upcoming mission, and Shino didn't want to make light of his feelings.

"Hey, Eugene," Shino said, gently trying to calm his friend. He placed a reassuring hand on Eugene's shoulder. "I didn't mean to make it sound like a joke. I know this is a big deal, and you're right to be concerned."

Eugene slowly released his grip on Shino's collar and sighed deeply, his shoulders sagging with the weight of his worries. He appreciated Shino's attempt to empathize and offer support.

Shino continued, "Look, we're all in this together. We've faced tough situations before, and we've always had each other's backs. You're a valuable part of Tekkadan, Eugene, and nobody here wants to see you hurt."

Eugene nodded, still visibly anxious but feeling a bit reassured by Shino's words. "I know... It's just that this mission feels different. There's so much at stake."

Shino gave Eugene a small, understanding smile. "Yeah, it does feel different, but we've beaten the odds before, haven't we? And hey, I've got your favorite snacks all ready for you in Ryo Sei. Once this is over, we can enjoy them together, no matter what happens."

Eugene managed a faint smile in return. "Thanks, Shino. I needed that."

Shino clapped Eugene on the back, offering a supportive pat. "Let's both try to be cool. Both of us okay."

Eugene took a deep breath, his nervousness still present but slightly more manageable. He knew that the bond he shared with his comrades in Tekkadan was stronger than any fear he might feel. Together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead.

As Eugene and Shino had their heartfelt conversation, Ichiro continued to work diligently on his mobile suit, Ogre. He focused intently on the task at hand, fine-tuning the machine's systems and making sure everything was in perfect working order. His skilled hands moved with precision, a testament to his expertise as a mobile suit pilot and mechanic.

Occasionally, he glanced over at Eugene and Shino, listening in on their conversation while not letting it distract him from his work. Ichiro knew that everyone in Tekkadan had their own way of dealing with the pressure and anxiety that came with their dangerous missions, and he respected that.

As he tightened a bolt and checked the calibration of Ogre's thrusters, Ichiro couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility for his comrades. He wanted to ensure that their mobile suits were in the best possible condition to maximize their chances of success in the upcoming mission.

Bladwin sat at a bit of a distance as Ichiro worked diligently on Ogre, the mobile suit that had become an extension of himself. The clanging of tools and the hum of machinery filled the air as Ichiro focused on the task at hand. Bladwin watched him work, occasionally glancing at the impressive machine taking shape before him.

After a while, Bladwin couldn't help but wonder aloud, "Ichiro, why don't you ask Yamagi or the other boys to help you with this? It would go faster, and you wouldn't have to do it all alone."

Ichiro continued his work without looking up, his voice calm and composed. "I don't like someone helping me. I'm a person with huge pride, and I don't like asking anyone for anything. I prefer working on my machines alone."

Bladwin nodded in understanding, realizing that Ichiro valued his independence and took pride in his abilities as a mobile suit mechanic. He respected his friend's wishes and decided not to press the issue further.

Changing the subject, Bladwin began to share some information about the Outer Earth Orbit Regulatory Joint Fleet, the organization they were dealing with. "Their leader is Carta Issue, holding the rank of colonel," Bladwin explained. "Rumors have it that she's crazy in love with McGillis Fareed, and her fleet mostly consists of blonde boys who share a similar body structure to McGillis."

Ichiro listened intently, his mind already at work, devising a plan to exploit Carta Issue's infatuation and the composition of her fleet to their advantage. The wheels of strategy turned in his head as he absorbed the information.

As they continued their conversation, it was clear that Bladwin and Ichiro made a formidable team, each contributing their unique skills and perspectives to the challenges they faced. In the harsh world of Tekkadan, where alliances and strategies were critical for survival, their partnership was a valuable asset.

Ichiro, fully focused on his work on Ogre, was approached by Masohiro, Aston, and Derma Atland. They greeted him with respect, though there was an underlying tension in the air due to Ichiro's ruthless actions in the past that had cost the lives of some of their comrades.

"Hello, Sir Ichiro. Good morning," Derma greeted, bowing slightly. Masohiro and Aston, controlling their anger, echoed the greeting.

Ichiro acknowledged their greetings with a nod and asked, "Good morning. What is it?"

Derma, being the spokesman, hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Sir, we would like you to help us fix our mobile suits."

Ichiro considered their request for a moment and then agreed, "Okay, lead the way. Bladwin, come too."

Bladwin, who had been sitting nearby, got up and followed Ichiro. The Atland brothers were taken aback by Ichiro's willingness to help.

"Why are you guys stunned?" Ichiro asked, noticing their surprise.

Derma replied, "Nothing, sir. It's just that we didn't think you would agree."

Ichiro's reputation for independence and his past actions had apparently given them the impression that he wouldn't be willing to assist others.

Ichiro nodded in understanding as Derma confirmed that they would be staying with Eugene and the others on the Isaribi. It seemed like everything was falling into place, and they were ready to work on the repairs for the mobile suits.
