Chapitre 52: Waifu App In DC 8

(Wally POV)

-July 6th 2010, Central City Mall-

Racing through the streets with my goggles on, I dodge cars left and right while watching as Superboy flies above, remaining at my speed. Yet what seems to be irking me is how he is getting faster by the second.

He doesn't want to show it, but a speedster can tell when someone gets faster. It must be due to his Kryptonian cells getting access to more natural sunlight, and on a sunny day like this, Neo must be in heaven. I am so jealous, but I can't complain. I mean, I can quite literally break the sound barrier if I push myself, while the average human can barely pass a speed of over eight miles an hour.

He did put on a mask, which was my dad's old ski mask, when I took my family skiing that one time, which confused me, but when I asked, he said, "It's always good to have spare masks. We can't trust that we will have our costumes on hand at all times."

Honestly, he sounded like Batman after he said that, and I think he realized that too as he slightly frowned. Realizing the similarity, I simply laughed it off as we left my house. He did keep another ski mask on him, which I didn't really mind.

The trip barely took a minute as we stopped in an alleyway by the mall. It's a good thing, too, as it was getting late, and the stores would close in a few hours anyway. As I entered the alley, I took off my goggles, and Neo landed, took off the mask, and then placed it in his pocket. I was tempted to laugh at him as he was wearing my dad's old shirt, which was looking pretty tight on him.

Did he grow again overnight? It must be my imagination and the sugar rush from all those pancakes earlier. Speaking of which, I have to convince Neo to cook again. His food was amazing; I'd never tell my mom that, though.

"You ready, Wally?" Neo asked as he walked towards me, and I nodded.

"Of course, the Wallman is always ready. I recommend stopping by the Forever Sixteen store as it has the best clothes for you". He nodded and began to follow me inside, and since it was eight o'clock at night the place was a lot emptier than usual. The clothing store was still open, and as we entered, I asked Neo.

"How much is on there, by the way?" I leaned over his shoulder as he looked at the card he was given.

"Based on the note that self-destructed after I read it, $10,000. It's definitely a lot." I shook my head as Batman was always the money guy in the League.

"That should be enough for now, but hey, if you ever feel like being a bit charitable, the wall man would always appreciate a snack or two since he's showing you around. Hint, hint." As I tapped him with my shoulder, he smiled in a way that reminded me too much of Black Canary, so I backed off to give him space, of course, and not because I was scared.

"Right, anyway, we're here." I looked up and saw the sign, and as we entered, the woman at the desk who was staring off into space perked up and was about to say something but blushed as she looked at Neo. Trying to stumble out a corporate greeting, Neo just walks up to the desk and asks.

"Hello there, my friend and I were looking for clothes that could fit a size XL Adult Male. Do you have anything in stock?" In one question, the woman seemed to already want to give him her digits, but Neo, being the dunce that he is, couldn't see it. Damn, that natural himbo energy he exudes.

"Right away! Please follow me." She nearly trips, but Neo catches her. I wonder if the universe just favors this guy.

"Sorry! I don't usually slip like that." Neo helped her to her feet, and I swear she looked disappointed that he let go. Again, I blame the Kryptonian genetics, as those guys are just literally walking heat waves. It's why when Superman saves people, they always seem to never be shivering in the cold during winter. The guy radiates a decent amount of heat, so while he won't melt any snow, it keeps him at a normal temperature.

"It's okay, it happens; my friend over here can also relate, but probably for a different reason." I then smirked at me as I took my chance.

"Well, beautiful, what my friend here was referring to was how I don't really like ice too much. I never really got along, but you could melt me anytime." It was perfect.

They were already walking away, weren't they?

As I looked over I saw the girl talking with Neo, and I dashed to catch up. You win this round, Neo. Yet I couldn't shake the smile off my face as I was happy he seemed a bit more upbeat as this morning he was a little off, and I noticed the window was open in his room as I passed by.

(Neo POV)

The Waifu Catalog perks do not mess around. The very second that clerk saw me, her heart rate escalated as I could see the individual hormones that related to lust start to proliferate in her system. And while it was flattering, I just wanted to finish this as soon as possible.

After his dreadful pickup line, Wally was already behind me as I checked out different outfits. The only reason I don't use my shroud to create clothing, which I know it can do, is that I do not want to reveal all my cards on the table just yet and I was genuinely curious about how fast I had gotten overnight and while subtle the solar radiation from an unfiltered sun was an amazing feeling.

It didn't last very long as the sun had pretty much set by the time we left the West home, but the sunset lasted long enough that I could feel an improvement. Regardless, I focused on picking out some clothes as Wally judged my taste, and his Mom was right: the guy has no taste in fashion.

Maybe he would grow out of his lackluster taste with time, but almost everything he wanted me to buy was some shade of yellow or red, and when I tried on a sleeveless vest and tie, the woman watching us had a literal nosebleed and turned around while Wally being Wally looked unimpressed.

You have to admit, though, it was fun as it was kind of like a game, as everything I knew that Wally liked was something that actually looked bad and vice versa. It was actually better than normal shopping as usually you'd have to spend time looking for different styles or outfits, but I just simply picked what I liked and what Wally did not.

I did see the same shirts that Superboy would wear, that's the black shirt with the Superman logo on it, and while I did buy one as an homage to the original, I didn't pick up any more than that. I was not Connor, and I never would be, I hope. Shaking off the thoughts, I heard the sound of smashing glass, which caused me to look towards the source of the sound and, using my x-ray vision, found the nearby jewelry store getting robbed by the Terror Twins.

Looking at Wally as he tried to flirt with the waitress to no effect, I grabbed him by the shoulder and said, " Hey Wally, can we talk for a second? And Layla (the store clerk), could you hold these for me up front? I need to talk to my friend." The clerk nodded immediately and took the clothes up front while I grabbed Wally and said silently, " Wally, we got a problem."

"Yeah, we do; you didn't pick any of my choices! Not cool man."

"Not that we got a robbery in progress at the nearby jewelry store. The twins are there." This immediately caught his attention as he took out his Flash ring, and I put on a ski mask. We left the store faster than the clerk could see.

En route, Wally said, " I phoned Barry, and he said he was busy with Superman, so we need to hold them for a few minutes." Nodding, I flew behind him, and as we stopped outside the store, we saw two figures exiting the place with various jewels and necklaces. As Wally was about to run in, I stopped him.

As he was about to yell, I silenced him with a look and said, " Before we rush in there, we need to plan. And based on some of the data from Cadmus, I learned that these two twins both have invulnerability. Are you able to hit them hard enough actually to hurt them? Think Wally, while they are durable, they still need to breathe." That stops him in his tracks.

Continuing, I said, " I can distract them, and you need to get the hostages and the people out of the building. Can you do that? Also, before you say that you shouldn't be leading me alone, consider the fact that the building is about to fall apart." As I said this, the ceiling began to collapse, and Wally, with a fierce expression, ran in while I jumped in front of the twins.

Tommy Terror, the male twin, yells in surprise, " What the fuck?! Who the hell are you?" he asks in a very strong Southern accent.

His sister, Tuppence Terror, then says, " Probably some no name looking for some street cred. Tommy be a dear take care of him for me." Tommy, with a smile, cracked his knuckles and threw a punch, and I dodged easily.

Tommy, however, was less fortunate as he tripped over my foot, but before he could slam into the wall, I grabbed him by the back of his tank top and threw him into his sister, sending them both outside and away from the mall. The throw wasn't enough to leave any lasting damage but just to get them away, and thankfully, there was an open skylight right above me.

I then flew outside, and before they could hit the ground, I grabbed them both by their tank tops and slammed them into each other before throwing them to the ground. The small crater could be fixed easily, and Wally, who had finished his job, came outside and said, " Well if it isn't dumb and dumber, didn't Superman put you two in time-out a few days ago?"

The twins getting up and dusting themselves off, looked at me with pure vitriol as I floated above them with Tommy yelling, " There ain't no way some goddamn aliens going to put me and my sister away! Tuppence, you get the yellow fly, I got the no name." he then tries to jump at me. As he tries to punch me, I let it hit me as a way to test my durability.

Thankfully, I was correct as the punch while forcing my head to move slightly didn't really hurt me in any meaningful way, and as he was about to fall back to the ground, I gripped the arm he punched me with and looked at him in the eye before tossing him into the air.

As I shot up into the sky, I circled around him for a few seconds before slamming my whole body into him and Mach speeds, which caused him to cry out in pain and fly across the city. As he flew, I slammed him in the face multiple times before he stopped. Catching him by his face, I grip it with my hand and begin to descend rapidly, and we find ourselves back at the mall.

Grabbing him, I looked to see Wally running rings around the girl, and as he did so, she tried to punch him, but she already fell for his trap. Because you see, while the terror twins have invulnerability and super strength, they are not super fast and thus cannot catch Wally using a classic speedster move.

He was sucking all the air out of the circle he was running in, and as Tuppence began to suffocate, Tommy tried to pry himself out of my grip, to which I punched him in the face over and over again, sending some blood and teeth onto my jacket.

And while I was tempted to end this here and now, I knew this wasn't the best place, so while I can't kill him, I'm fine with giving him traumatic brain injuries. And, with one final punch to the face, his eyes rolled back as he saw stars.

Tuppence had already gone unconscious as Wally stopped and took a breath while I placed the terror twins in a chokehold with one in each hand.

"Well, that was something; I didn't know clothes shopping could be so violent." My comment makes Wally chuckle as he stands up straight.

" Trust me, Kr, this is the tip of the iceberg. Try shopping for food in Gotham; Croc will try to cut the line and eat the line at the same time. Also, you really need a code name now. Kr is kind of lame." Shaking my head in amusement, I could hear Flash's footsteps approach, and as I placed the twins down, he stopped in front of them.

"I'm here! Sorry, I'm late. Now, where are those two?" Wally just tiredly points to the ground, and as Flash sees the two, he smirks.

" Well, I can definitely say I'm impressed. Don't run any civilian casualties, and you two were able to keep the damage to a minimum. If this were a school, I'd give you an A but don't tell Batman I said that, as he is a tough grader. Now who wants to carry them?" After asking that question, Wally pointed at me as Flash also looked at me at the same time.

"I feel as if I am being coerced," I said with a flat tone.

"Not at all. Think of this as on-the-job training." The Flash said, gesturing to the unconscious twins.

" Since I'm essentially barely a month old, this could be considered child labor, you know."

"Semantics." After saying that, the police finally arrived, and as I carried the two into the back of the van, I saw Superman staring at me. As he stared, I just walked past him and said nothing.

Conversely, Wally was handing out autographs, but Flash got his attention and said, " You two did good work. But Wally, where are Neo's clothes?"

"Oh right, Neo, we gotta get back to the store; I was this close to getting that girl's number." He then sped back into the mall, but I felt a hand on my shoulder as I was about to follow him.

Looking back, I saw Superman looking at me, but as this went on, I simply said, " If you're not going to say anything, then don't feel free to talk to me when you're ready. I'll be here. I will not apologize, but I will not worry either." I followed Wally into the store, but I had to ask as he exited it looking gloomy.

"She said no, didn't she?" I asked with a small smirk.

"I blame you for this, you damn himbo." As he says this, he gives back the car that he apparently took from me and the bags for the clothes, and starts running back to his house and laughing a bit more than I should have. I followed him while making sure to go fast enough so that no one could actually see me.

But before doing so, I looked at a stray bird that had been on the roof of the mall this whole time and shot my laser eyes at it, but before it even hit, the bird exploded in metal parts before they disintegrated on their own.

This was definitely an interesting shopping experience.
