Chapitre 772: The Mission

When Yuga returned to the YoYo Day Care, he noticed that James was there as well. It was evident that James had secretly come back earlier and was currently talking to Windy.

"Boss, you're back! How did the mission go? Was it successful?" Windy asked with excitement upon seeing Yuga.

"It went quite smoothly," Yuga replied with a smile.

James's gaze seemed a bit restless upon seeing Yuga, but he didn't say anything. He felt relieved that Yuga didn't bring up the incident.

"James is here?" Yuga casually asked.

"Y-Yes, I came to... to say goodbye to Windy before heading back to the Kanto region," James stammered, avoiding eye contact with Yuga.

Yuga understood the reason but didn't mind. He smiled and said, "I see. Well, I wish you a safe journey. Feel free to visit anytime you have a chance."

"Thank you, Boss. I will. Take care, and, uh, Windy, make sure you come home sometime," James said quickly before darting out of the room.

Watching James's hasty exit, Windy looked puzzled but didn't dwell on it. He shrugged it off, thinking that the YoYo Day Care was a great place to be.

The next day, Hayate arrived at the Verdanturf Gym with a group of people, and Joyka was among them.

Joyka didn't visit as a friend of Yuga but as a representative of the Joy family.

Yuga led them into the reception area of the Verdanturf Gym, and Hayate got straight to the point without much ado. He said, "Thanks to the help of Gym Leader Shimizu, this mission went smoothly. I'm here to fulfill the promise of our Pidgey Express reward to you."

After speaking, he gestured to a few people behind him. They approached Yuga with two boxes and opened them.

When the boxes were opened, Yuga was almost dazzled by what he saw inside—both boxes were filled with Flying Gems.

Yuga couldn't help but marvel at the generosity of Pidgey Express. These items were incredibly valuable and hard to come by. Yet, they had provided two large boxes full of them in one go.

For any faction or organization, Attribute Gems were precious resources. Pidgey Express had gone all out with this gift, not only as a token of gratitude but also to build a good relationship with Yuga.

They had learned from the Joy family that Yuga had the only Master level Trainer in Hoenn as his backer. Putting Yuga's background aside, he was a young Gym Leader with incredible potential, and he could potentially become a Master level Trainer in the future.

In every aspect, building a good relationship with Yuga was a win-win situation.

Seeing Yuga's slightly surprised expression, Hayate knew that Yuga was satisfied with their reward, and it eased his own worries.

Even for an organization as influential as Pidgey Express, providing so many Flying Gems at once was a considerable expense. Attribute Gems were strictly regulated by the Pokémon League, and each one was precious.

"Pidgey Express is really generous!" Yuga exclaimed.

He had used up all his Merit Points to exchange for Fairy Gems earlier, and now he was concerned about the supply of Dragon Gems and Fire Gems for his Dragonite and Charizard. Little did he expect that Pidgey Express would provide a solution for both.

While Flying Gems might not be the most optimal for Dragonite and Charizard, they were still indispensable.

Dual-type Pokémon had both primary and secondary attributes, and while they emphasized their primary attribute, the secondary attribute couldn't be ignored. Some Pokémon, due to their innate tendencies, might even focus on their secondary attribute.

Seeing Yuga satisfied, Hayate was also pleased. He continued, "This is nothing compared to the help you provided us. And there's something else we'd like to give you."

Saying that, Hayate nodded to a person beside him. The individual stepped forward and placed an Incubator with a Pokémon Egg on the table.

Yuga looked at it curiously and asked, "What's this?"

This Pokémon Egg had a light purple color with dark purple patterns scattered across its surface. In Yuga's discerning eyes, this Pokémon Egg emitted a rich green glow, just a step away from turning into a shade of blue.

"This is a Noibat's Pokémon Egg that we obtained by chance, and now we'd like to gift it to you," Hayate explained.

While Pidgey Express excelled in nurturing various bird-type Pokémon, their expertise in raising Dragon-type Pokémon was somewhat lacking. That's why they decided to present this Noibat's Pokémon Egg to Yuga.

Yuga was slightly surprised at this revelation, not expecting it to be a Dragon-type Pokémon Egg.

Just as Yuga was about to reach for the Incubator, a message from the system suddenly echoed in his mind.

...

[ Congratulations to the host for collecting seven Dragon-type Pokémon, triggering the Dragon Clan Collection mission. ]

[ Description: Dragon-type Pokémon are powerful and rare. Please collect seven different Dragon-type Pokémon and nurture one of each to its final form. ]

[ Reward: Qualification to open the Dragon's Den Sub-Ecopark. ]

...

The system's voice in his mind made Yuga pause for a moment. He hadn't realized that collecting these seven Dragon-type Pokémon had triggered such a specific mission.

Unbeknownst to him, his Ecopark had already gathered seven different Dragon-type Pokémon: Flygon, Altaria, Dragonite, Duddrigon, Shellgon, Deino, and now Noibat's Egg, making it a total of seven.

Among these seven Dragon-type Pokémon, Flygon, Altaria, Dragonite, and Duddrigon had already reached their final forms. Only Shellgon, Deino, and Noibat needed to be nurtured further.

This Sub-Ecopark mission was quite special compared to the previous ones. The activation conditions were hidden, and this mission's completion difficulty was not straightforward.

The system has said that the Sub-Ecopark is a basic benefit of the system, so it is not very difficult to open, but this time the Dragon Den Sub-Ecopark is a little different.

At first glance, it seemed simple to Yuga: nurture Shellgon, Deino, and Noibat to their final forms, and the mission would be completed.

But upon closer consideration, Yuga realized that it might not be so easy. First of all, there was an activation condition for this mission, the hidden requirement of collecting seven different Dragon-type Pokémon.

If Yuga hadn't collected them, would he have ever triggered this mission? Would the system have reminded him? This meant that opening the Dragon's Den Sub-Ecopark depended on luck to some extent since Dragon-type Pokémon were not common.

Additionally, nurturing each Dragon-type Pokémon to their final form was a challenging task. While Flygon and Altaria were common Dragon-type Pokémon, Shellgon and Deino were considered pseudo-legendaries and had long growth periods.

Shellgon and Deino have been in the Ecopark for some time now, and they are still receiving guidance from the Elite level Druddigon. Yuga hasn't stopped providing resources for them, but currently, only Shellgon has evolved to the second stage.

When Yuga thought about how his initial Dratini had evolved into Dragonite so quickly due to the influence of the Yellow Gem and the divine energy within it, he realized that such circumstances were not easily replicated.

So, while the task might seem quiet simple to Yuga now, it was not without its unique challenges. Why was this Sub-Ecopark mission so special compared to the others?
