“Did you get this wet from a kiss, Leya?” he asked before letting out an amused chuckle.

“Don’t call me that!” I yelled as I felt tears stinging the back of my eyes.

I glared with narrowed eyes at him as my anger started boiling over. Since learning that he wasn’t Anthony, I could no longer bear to hear him call me by my nickname. It was Anthony who came up with this nickname for me when we were kids, and it was probably the only thing that reminded me of the connection that we used to share. Having this man use that name so carelessly felt like he was soiling the precious memories that I shared with Anthony that I treasured so dearly.
