Upon hearing Jenny's request, Gideon Frost waved his hand dismissively.
"We shouldn't even be here," he said.
Jenny insisted, "My job is to ensure that anything valuable doesn't fall into enemy hands."
"We don't know what's down there," she added. "But just the tomb of Tutankhamun is worth £65 million."
Hearing that it was Tutankhamun's tomb, Ferrel seemed disappointed, but Nick's eyes widened.
He walked up to his superior and said, "Colonel, if I can activate the turbo propeller, we can seal up this hole and Jenny can come back another day."
"Shut up!"
"Understood."
Gideon Frost looked at Jenny and said, "You have two hours, then we're leaving."
Then he pointed at Nick. "You and him, go into the cave."
Both Jenny and Nick questioned.
"Him?"
"Me?"
Gideon Frost's tone was serious as he replied, "Yes."
"You're ready to act, this is an order."
Meanwhile, Ferrel chuckled, "Good luck, Sergeant."
Nick turned to Ferrel and said, "Get into that damn cave, Ferrel."
Ferrel immediately made a pained expression. "Oh, buddy!"
But inwardly, he was pleased. This was all intentional; he wanted to gather firsthand information before S.H.I.E.L.D. arrived to take over.
At this moment, Hidan and Itachi Uchiha stood in a nearby building, watching the four people communicating below.
None of the soldiers below noticed their presence.
The two remained indifferent to the impending descent of the three individuals into the cave, observing everything with cold eyes.
If there weren't any special items, the unit would be unharmed. But if they found some extraordinary treasures, Hidan and Itachi would step in for retrieval.
Now, Jenny, Nick, and Ferrel, equipped with hooks and ropes, began their descent into the cave. Soon, the three of them reached the bottom of the cave.
Jenny illuminated the surrounding murals with a flashlight while recording her observations.
Quickly, Jenny confirmed that this was a tomb. Just as she mentioned the Sun god, suddenly, a huge amount of sand fell from above onto Nick and Ferrel.
Ferrel and Nick started arguing, with Ferrel claiming that the place was full of immovable statues and had no treasures.
Nick told Ferrel to be quiet, not to speak.
Suddenly, Nick felt something dripping onto his arm. He shone his flashlight upward.
"What is this? Mercury?"
Jenny walked over, looked at the mercury stain on Nick's palm, and said, "Yes, it's mercury."
"The ancient Egyptians believed that mercury could weaken evil souls."
Nick nodded. "Good thing we know. What's dripping from above is mercury. This stuff can be deadly."
Ferrel chimed in, "Inhale this stuff, and it'll drive you mad."
Jenny looked at the mercury dripping from above and then glanced at the mercury on the ground. She immediately sensed a connection between the two and concluded that it was part of a drainage system.
Following the drainage system, the three reached the depths of the cave and soon came across something peculiar.
Seeing what was in front of them, Jenny exclaimed, "OMG!"
Before them stood six ancient Egyptian guardian statues, and three iron chains hung down from above, as if suspending something underground.
Everything here seemed like an ancient sealing ritual. After examining it for a while, Jenny came to a conclusion.
"This isn't a tomb; it's a prison."
At this moment, Nick and Ferrel looked at the floor covered in gold and silver treasures, sharing a smile.
During this time, Ferrel and Nick quietly collected some gold jewelry and slipped them into their pockets.
At this moment, Ferrel's walkie-talkie crackled with a voice.
"Come out immediately, we've received news that a strong airflow is coming in. We need to leave."
Jenny, who was nearby, also heard the message from the walkie-talkie. She turned and said, "Tell the Colonel we need to notify the National Defense Hazardous Materials Agency."
Ferrel was puzzled. "Notify them for what?"
"I need experts from Cairo..."
"Cairo?" Ferrel questioned.
"And we need hazmat suits, containment barrels," Jenny continued.
Ferrel interjected, "Jenny, we're out of time. You'd better grab whatever you can carry!"
"I'm not leaving. I want to see what's in the pool," Jenny insisted.
While the two argued, Nick observed the transmission mechanism of the iron chains. After a quick examination, he understood how it operated.
He pulled out his pistol and fired a shot, breaking one of the iron chains.
Immediately, the machinery started working, and a coffin submerged in the mercury pool was pulled out.
As the coffin emerged, the walls and surroundings of the cave were suddenly filled with spiders, crawling around the feet of the three.
One spider crawled onto Ferrel's body and stung him.
Ferrel quickly swatted the spider off and looked around at the dense spiders. He immediately raised his gun and started shooting.
Nick, watching Ferrel shoot wildly, yelled for him to stop.
He was afraid that the bullets bouncing off the walls might injure them.
While shouting, Nick said, "Ferrel, these are just camel spiders, they don't even have venom."
Excitedly, Ferrel asked, "Can we leave now?"
As Ferrel and Nick argued, Nick looked at the ancient Egyptian coffin. Suddenly, he entered into a trance.
He found himself in a desert, where a beautiful woman appeared and touched his cheek. "Thank you for saving me," she said.
"You are the one I have chosen, Nick."
With that, she kissed him. Just then, Jenny woke Nick up.
"Nick, go and tell the Colonel to arrange a helicopter. We need to lift this thing up," she instructed.
"Do you hear me, Nick? Hurry up."
Nick's consciousness returned, but he was still a bit dazed. Nevertheless, he followed Jenny's orders to inform his superior.
Outside the cave, Hidan looked at the numerous crows that had appeared and turned to Itachi Uchiha, asking, "Itachi, did you summon these crows?"
Obviously, in Hidan's memory, Itachi Uchiha was skilled in manipulating crows, with techniques like Crow Clone and Crow Genjutsu.
Itachi looked at the bustling activity below and shook his head. "These crows weren't summoned by me; their appearance has nothing to do with me."
However, Itachi Uchiha was pondering the reason for the sudden appearance of these crows.
After all, a large number of crows wouldn't just appear out of thin air. The current scene seemed to foreshadow something.
Could it be...
