As time went by, more mutants flocked to Paradise , transforming the once-desolate island into a lively community. Life here mirrored the outside world, with mutants living in peace and harmony.
Despite the apparent tranquility, Alex felt uneasy about the readily available genetic material. Under the pretext of issuing identification cards, he collected a vial of blood from each mutant. These cards would not only serve to identify residents but also trigger alarms if anyone attempted unauthorized entry into Paradise .
For the mutants, there was no room for doubt. Even if some questioned their motives, they paid little heed. After all, Alex was the founder of Paradise ; merely drawing a vial of blood meant little to them. Their aim was simple: safety.
In just two months, the mutant population in Paradise had swelled to over 600,000. With newly awakened mutants arriving regularly, this number continued to rise.
Charles and Eric couldn't be happier seeing so many of their kind gathered. Their mission had always been to create a secure haven for mutants, and now that goal had been realized. It was their greatest joy.
Despite their occasional disagreements, these two handled countless responsibilities daily, relying on their genius intellect to manage the challenges.
Alex smiled in response, pondering if he truly had become their trusted friend and confidant. Yet, Alex couldn't help but notice the remarkable mental prowess shared by most mutants.
Take Charles and Eric, for instance—both highly educated and industrious. Their dedication was awe-inspiring. Even Johnny proved himself a genius.
Starting with nothing didn't deter them. With ample resources and the support of Stark Industries, the community became self-sufficient in less than six months.
As time passed, mutants continued to converge towards their location.
"Alex, I have something extremely important that requires your attention," Charles' voice suddenly echoed in Alex's ears.
Alex, who had been playfully interacting with a naive giant panda and lifting its head, furrowed his brow upon hearing Charles' voice. He gently placed the panda in Anya's arms and instantly teleported over.
"Charles, is there something you and Eric can't handle? Can't you both deal with it?" Alex asked, curious.
Charles looked serious. "This is something beyond our expertise. We need your unique abilities and insight."
Alex nodded, sensing the gravity of the situation. "Alright, show me what needs to be done."
They walked briskly to a secluded area where Eric was already waiting, his expression tense. The atmosphere was charged with urgency as they prepared to tackle whatever challenge lay ahead.
.....
Over the past two months of laid-back activities, Alex had trusted Charles and Eric to manage everything smoothly. This was the first time he was being called upon for help.
"It's like this. Today, a very special mutant has arrived at Paradise . We're uncertain how to handle his abilities, so after discussing with Eric, we decided to contact you for the final decision," Charles explained with a serious expression.
"Oh? How special can he be?" Alex's interest was piqued upon hearing Charles' grave tone.
Charles glanced at Eric, who nodded in confirmation. With a swift gesture, Eric summoned a 4.8-meter-high wall, revealing a transparent glass panel.
Through the glass, Alex spotted a young bald boy in a white coat seated inside. The familiar face immediately struck a chord with Alex, leading him to a realization. If he wasn't mistaken, this boy was Jimmy, known for his ability to nullify mutant powers as seen in X-Men 3.
It was because of him that mutants in X-Men 3 had turned against each other, leading to a devastating civil war that resulted in the loss of powers or lives for many mutants.
Alex took a deep breath, his mind racing. "Jimmy," he murmured, staring at the boy. "His power is to nullify mutant abilities. This could change everything."
Charles nodded. "Exactly. We need to decide how to integrate him into our community. His ability could be both a blessing and a curse."
Eric added, "We need to ensure that his presence doesn't disrupt the harmony we've worked so hard to build. Some mutants might see him as a threat."
Alex considered this carefully. "We'll need to handle this delicately. Let's start by understanding Jimmy better—his background, his intentions, and how he feels about his power."
Charles smiled, relieved by Alex's calm and thoughtful approach. "Agreed. We'll arrange for a private meeting with him."
As they made their way to the meeting room, Alex couldn't shake the feeling that this was the beginning of another chapter in the saga of organizations with unique abilities. The arrival of Jimmy could either strengthen Paradise or bring new challenges they had yet to face.
