Alex paid little heed to the lasting impact of Nick Fury's demise on S.H.I.E.L.D.
Ultimately, the organization's founders like Howard, stepped in to resolve the aftermath. Phil Coulson ascended to the role of SHIELD Director during the cleanup process.
Now, those within S.H.I.E.L.D. had learned firsthand not to trifle with Mutants. With someone as formidable as Alex, who would dare provoke him? Even the President himself had declared his intent to eliminate Alex.
Back at his manor, Alex efficiently resolved the fallout within an hour, including awakening those under the influence of hypnotic abilities. However, Carol remained in a coma, her memories altered to include 25 years of fabricated experiences—a measure taken to prevent potential brain damage, given her physical condition.
Returning to his manor, Alex found his bewildered associates still coming to terms with recent events. He breathed a sigh of relief and couldn't resist gathering them all in a heartfelt embrace, though he had to do it twice due to their numbers.
"What's with the sudden group hug?" Rui asked, puzzled by the unusual display of emotion.
Little did they know, Alex had personally navigated and dispelled their deepest anxieties within their illusions, sparing them further anguish.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have been so enraged by the attack.
"It's alright, just wanted to hug you, is that too much to ask?" Alex said confidently.
"It's more than alright! Anytime you want," Alex added flirtatiously, with a charming grin.
Psylocke watched from the sidelines, envious of Alex and Raven's interaction.
At that moment, Alex noticed Psylocke's presence.
His earlier anger had blinded him to the risks Raven and the others faced. If anything had happened to them, Alex would have carried that guilt for life. Despite their powers, they were still vulnerable to poisons, bullets, and missiles—weapons that could end them.
"Thank you, Psylocke," Alex expressed his gratitude.
"You're welcome. The professor sent me. Now that my task is done, I'll head back," Psylocke replied with a smile.
"Also, pass on a message to Charles about establishing a Mutant nation. Tell him to come here," Alex instructed Psylocke.
Psylocke hesitated briefly, then responded with mixed emotions, "Alright, I understand."
"Oh, and have him get in touch with Eric," Alex added as an afterthought.
"I'll relay the message," Psylocke assured him before leaving.
"Establishing a Mutant kingdom? That's a major step," Psylocke pondered as she hurried towards Charles' school, hoping he was back.
"What did you just say?" Raven overheard Alex's words and asked in disbelief.
"I said, let's build a Mutant nation. A place where all Mutants can live freely without discrimination," Alex explained, a light chuckle escaping him.
"Really?" Raven and Emma shared a look of surprise.
Mutants are often perceived as dangerous, but the reality is they face discrimination from ordinary humans. Not all Mutants possess Magneto's immense power; many are similar to regular people. If they harm someone, they face arrest and imprisonment, leading to miserable lives for most.
Three young girls—Anna, Kitty, and Anya—were fortunate. Discovered to have abilities, they were taken in by Alex. Anya, raised here, never faced discrimination, much like Jean.
On the other hand, Emma, Raven, and others experienced discrimination firsthand, a deeply unsettling experience.
Storm inherited his abilities within the family. In the United States, rampant racial discrimination affects those with darker skin tones, despite Storm's wheat-colored complexion being considered beautiful. Race remains a barrier, even among Mutants.
Within the Mutant community, however, whether white or black, they unite under their Mutant identity, fostering strong bonds.
The idea of establishing a Mutant nation, where discrimination is absent, garners support, including from Storm as a supportive neighbor.
"But how do we establish a nation without land? All land is already claimed. We have no territory to build our Mutant kingdom," Jessica interjected, dampening the mood.
Indeed, without land and resources, how could they possibly build a nation? Was it just wishful thinking?
"Jessica, we're Mutants, not ordinary people. Finding land is not a challenge for me. It's been planned for some time; I wanted to wait for the right moment, but now we must act sooner," someone asserted.
