Chapitre 8: The Horrified Howard
Alex took a glance at the exhibition. He remembered that Howard Stark, the father of Tony Stark, would appear at this event. Contacting Howard might be the key to obtaining the super serum.
The exhibition area was divided by various industries, and Alex quickly found Stark Industries' exhibition booth. There, he spotted a familiar face: Howard Stark.
Stark Industries was quite famous in the United States, so their booth was crowded with people.
"Hey, kid, why did you tag along? Maybe you should grow a bit taller first," Bucky teased from nearby, completely aware that Alex couldn't see the booth at all.
Alex gritted his teeth but decided not to react to Bucky's teasing. However, he couldn't resist using his power to absorb and release kinetic energy, which allowed him to forcefully squeeze through the crowd and get closer to the front.
Bucky was surprised to see the kid actually make his way to the front, and he considered lifting the little guy onto his shoulders for a better view.
As Alex reached the front, he saw Howard Stark preparing to take the stage. He knew that this was the man who would become the inventor of Iron Man's suit, Tony Stark's father.
Howard Stark, accompanied by singers and dancera, introduced his latest invention to the audience: "Ladies and gentlemen, maybe in just a few years, your cars won't need to touch the ground anymore."
With the help of several beautiful assistants, the tires of the cars on display were removed, sparking curiosity among the onlookers. In astonishment, they watched as Howard activated an anti-gravity device, causing the car to gradually float. However, the anti-gravity device malfunctioned, emitting sparks.
Alex quickly extended his hand to stabilize the car, preventing it from falling. Howard Stark was surprised by this turn of events. He couldn't explain why the car was floating despite the malfunction. His instincts told him that this mysterious little boy was somehow responsible as he had seen him raising his hands and the car magically stabilized.
As the audience marveled at the floating car and took photographs but Howard Stark eyes were on the boy who had interfered his performance.
Alex withdrew his hand, and the car descended abruptly. Howard realized the truth almost immediately but he had his doubts.

Backstage
Howard Stark decided to approach the mysterious boy. He wanted to find out more about the child with these unusual abilities.
"Hey, kid, wait up," Howard called out to Alex.
Alex, knowing he had Howard's attention, stopped and turned to face the man. He wore a look of innocence and asked, "What's up?"
"Can I ask you something?" Howard crouched down to be at eye level with Alex.
"Go ahead," Alex replied nonchalantly, dropping the pretense of being a young child.
"Did you make the car float earlier?" Howard asked.
"Yes," Alex confirmed with a nod.
"Can you tell me how you did it? What kind of ability is that?" Howard inquired, his eyes gleaming with curiosity.
"I can control magnetism," Alex replied calmly.
Howard continued, "Could you also tell me how you acquired this ability?"
Alex grinned, revealing his white teeth, and rolled up his sleeve to reveal a numeric tattoo on his arm. "Nazi concentration camp."
Howard's expression shifted, and his eyes widened with shock. The words "Nazi concentration camp" sent shivers down his spine.
This innocent-looking child had escaped from such a horrifying place and made it to the United States. It left Howard wondering if he had encountered a real-life miracle.
The excitement and curiosity in Howard's heart were instantly replaced by a cold and sobering reality.
