The hallway that connected the knights' quarters was narrow and long. From opposite sides, Mikael and Nicolaus walked towards each other, their eyes meeting in the distance as they recognized each other's silhouettes.
As they reached the midpoint of the corridor, they stopped and exchanged a few words.
Nicolaus, a hint of impatience in his voice, questioned, "Finished?"
Mikael, responding with a simple nod, conveyed his completion of seeing Talon for the day. He did not say a word, but his gesture was enough to express.
Cutting straight to business, Nicolaus declared, "Good. Let's head back to the estate now then." He spoke with a sense of urgency, his words were crisp, leaving no hesitation.
The two set off, walking side by side toward the arched exit. They went their way through the exit of the building where the knights resided, their footwear clicking loudly on the wooden planks of the floor.
