Chilled to the bone…
Droplets of water fell onto my face, rousing me from a deep slumber. I opened my eyes, but darkness was all I could see.
'Where am I?'
My body was shivering from exhaustion, the cold sinking into my very bones. The sensation of something slippery was persistent, seeming to bind me in place. Every muscle in my body screamed in protest as I strained against the disgusting tendrils. I battled with the slippery substance, managing to break free and force myself to stand on shaky legs. The sparse sunlight pierced through the murky clouds, casting an eerie light on the grisly spectacle below me - I was standing atop a mound of corpses.
