Chapitre 63: My Birthday

The next day was Sunday. A sense of hopelessness overwhelmed me as I lay on my bed, gazing out of my small window. Suddenly, a vivid memory resurfaced, reminding me of the reason I had opted for the alternate exit from the basement earlier. I was rushing with anticipation to retrieve my mother's letter.

I reached for the picture bag, carefully pulling it towards me. With trembling hands, I gently removed my mother's photograph from the bag and began to look at it. 

My eyes remained fixed on the picture of my mom and me. It was taken when I took my first step at White Fang's pack, and I couldn't help but smile at the striking resemblance between my mom and me.
