Chapitre 82: In Case someone is Behind

"Ms. Sophia, it seems you have forgotten about Amelia. Even if not her, you should at least remember me," Michael remarked.

Upon hearing this, Amelia felt a pang in her heart. It seemed like he was intentionally picking a fight. However, she knew that this man had a weak personality. He only liked to act tough with his words but was fundamentally feeble.

"Sorry, I meet many people, and those insignificant little creatures are easy to forget," Amelia replied dismissively.

Observing Michael's dumbfounded and infuriated expression, Amelia found it amusing and couldn't help but laugh. She joyfully started eating.

Michael paused for a moment, then chuckled along, saying, "Ms. Sophia, you truly are entertaining. You weren't this humorous before."

"I've always been like this. It's just that you don't know," Amelia retorted.

Michael sneered at her disdainfully, glanced at her, and arrogantly helped himself to a piece of steak, eating as well.

Amelia hadn't noticed before that this man really lacked manners. Shamelessly eating her food while trying to strike up a conversation.

"I heard that the Steele family has a new member?"

"Yes, my brother married Bella from the Harper Group. You seem well-informed, still concerned about the Harper family, huh?" Michael responded, giving Amelia a meaningful look, relishing the steak.

Amelia felt puzzled. Even Bella didn't know her identity, so how could this man be so sure that she was Amelia? Although they used to be couple, and even considered marriage, they had never crossed any boundaries.

"It's not that I'm concerned. The news of their relationship has spread far and wide. Everyone knows," Amelia explained casually.

Michael was taken aback upon hearing this. This was not good news at all. Bad news travels fast.

"I heard you also had an engagement with another Miss Harper from the Harper family?" Amelia asked naturally.

Michael first paused, then nodded as he looked at her. "Yes, with Amelia from the Harper family. What a pity. If both Harper sisters married me and my brother, it might have been a good thing. Don't you think, Ms. Sophia?"

"Yes, why didn't you propose then?"

"Propose? Amelia disappeared and turned into you. How can I propose to you? Are you willing?" Michael replied.

"What do you mean? I am not Amelia," Sophia said while continuing to eat. Her demeanor and actions were natural. She had grown accustomed to accepting herself as Sophia during these days.

"Regardless of whether you are or not, you resemble her about seventy, no, eighty percent. So, considering that similarity, it's fine to treat you as her," Michael remarked while eating. He didn't know why, but he always felt that she resembled Amelia a lot. If he considered her as such, it wouldn't matter.

Michael continued eating while speaking, not knowing why, but he always felt that this person resembled Amelia a lot. It didn't matter if he considered her as such.

Amelia couldn't help but laugh upon hearing this. It seemed like a joke to her. She deliberately showed disbelief, shaking her head gently.

"Michael, why is your brother the president of the Steele Group, but you're not even a vice president? Aren't you the biological heir of the Steele Group?" Amelia asked, a hint of amusement in her voice.

Michael lifted his head and looked at her, a brief moment of embarrassment crossing his face.

"Who said that? I'm just like him, also a biological heir. He enjoys the prestige while I handle many affairs of the Steele Group," he replied.

Amelia found it amusing, responding with a smile as if she had heard a joke, shaking her head lightly.

"You should focus on some cooperative projects, establish your own achievements, rather than always being bullied. As direct heirs, your treatment is unacceptable to outsiders."

Infuriated, Michael slammed the plate onto the table. "Are you trying to sow discord? People from the Grand Group are too cunning."

Amelia shook her head gently as she poured him a glass of wine. "You came over yourself. I merely made a passing remark. I heard it from others."

Michael glanced at her displeasedly and drank the wine in one go.

"It's getting late. I've already paid, so take your time eating," Amelia said as she stood up. She purposely let a few business cards fall out, and Andrew, looking down, picked them up. The cards read: Director of the Grand Group, Sophia, along with contact information.

"Ms. Sophia, your business cards. Do you still need them?" Andrew asked.

"Please throw them away for me," Amelia replied, turning around. There was a hint of calculation in her eyes as she walked out of the restaurant.

"Oops, I forgot to bring some food for Ethan. Maybe we can come together next time. I'm already halfway there," Amelia thought, glancing at the time. It was already past ten o'clock.

Returning to the villa, Ethan hadn't come back yet. "It's strange. Where did he go fooling around?"

Chinchol Manor.

"Mr. Frost, I understand what you mean. I will continue to cooperate with the Harper Group according to your instructions," Robert said, raising his glass and draining it, a look of joy on his face.

Ethan smirked, his deep gaze unfathomable as he spoke calmly, "Mr. Collins, you are indeed a person who gets things done. I won't miss out on the benefits promised to you."

"Haha, Mr. Frost, you're too kind."

The two men raised their glasses and toasted to celebrate their successful cooperation.

Hodgkin finally understood that Ethan had brought Robert here not to poach clients but to plant an undercover agent. While pretending to cooperate with the Harper Group, they could better obtain confidential information from within.

To gain Charles' trust, the Grand Group invested some capital while Robert lost money to gain trust.

"It's getting late, Mr. Frost. Are you staying here or going back?"

Glancing at the time, which was already past midnight, Ethan hesitated for a moment, then replied, "I'll go back."

"You've been drinking, so please use a designated driver," Hodgkin suggested, immediately regretting his slip of the tongue. He lightly tapped his mouth, realizing he had mentioned something unnecessary. "Boss, I'll drive you back."

Ethan responded coldly with a simple "Hmm," glanced at him, and walked ahead. Hodgkin quickly followed.

Unaware that Ethan had a new residence, Hodgkin drove towards the villa following the usual route.

Sitting in the car, Ethan felt a bit dizzy. It was inevitable to drink during socializing, but he hadn't expected Robert to hold his liquor so much. He had to keep up with him.

"Mr. Frost, we've arrived. Shall I help you out of the car?"

Ethan waved his hand and got out of the car alone, realizing that they were at the front of the villa. He was supposed to return to his new place, but looking at the time, it was already past one in the morning.

Never mind, going back so late would just startle Amelia.

He entered the villa alone, and Hodgkin watched him enter before leaving. "Why wasn't the door locked?"

A cold voice reached Amelia's ears while she was dozing off on the sofa. She immediately sat up upon hearing the sound of the door opening. "He's back. He actually come here to sleep without even calling me. Did he bring someone with him?" Amelia's heart tightened, and she hid herself.

"If you dare to bring a woman back, I'll definitely finish you." Hiding in the darkness, she carefully observed as Ethan entered. Slowly walking to the side of the sofa, he sat down, pressing his temples with both hands. "Did you really come back alone?" Amelia observed him closely for a while, just in case there was a woman behind him.
