Chapitre 2: Not Worthy
As Bella spoke, she walked to the computer.
She then plugged in the flash drive and clicked on a file.
The computer was used for playing music for the hall, so it was connected to the projector as well.
When Bella opened the file, the content jumped up on the large screen.
"Paternity test?"
The guests were shocked and started grumbling after they saw the file on the large screen.
Amelia thought it was just a prank, but when she heard the discussions, she also turned to look at the screen.
"What?"
She was stupefied as she saw it.
She blinked her eyes and looked at it once again. The words on the last sheet of the report were as follows, "Amelia Harper is not the biological daughter of Charles Harper."
That was impossible!
She had been Charles' beloved daughter since she was born.
But now the report showed that she was not Charles' biological daughter!
How could it be?
She wasn't the only one shocked. The entire hall gradually went silent.
"Bella, what's this all about?"
Charles strode to Bella and pulled her up by the collar.
"Dad, please open your eyes," Amelia clicked on the last sheet of the report and sneered, "I'm trying to show you the truth, in case you'll be cheated by an outsider. I got a message several days ago that Amelia is not your daughter, but a bastard of her mother and an unknown man. I was also shocked when I heard it, so I took your hair and her hair for a paternity test. Look what we've got. Do you still think a bastard is still worthy of so many shares of your company?"
"Nonsense! This doesn't make any sense! My mother wouldn't do something like that. You can't slander her!"
Amelia couldn't accept the result. No longer composed, Amelia rushed towards Bella in a frenzy, desperate to snatch the mouse.
Bella's mother, Delilah, took the chance to get on stage.
Upon witnessing Amelia lunge at Bella, Delilah swiftly intervened, pulling her aside and feigning persuasion, "Amelia, my girl, don't be impulsive. Let your sister finish it. Perhaps it's just a misunderstanding. Be patient. Maybe the result is not real."
"Amelia, let her finish! I wanna know what shocking revelation she has for us today!" Charles pointed at Bella and shouted, his voice betraying a hint of nervousness.
"Good," Bella snorted and clicked on the file again.
"Now that we have seen the report, which is enough to prove that Amelia is not even a daughter of my father. Perhaps you still can't believe it, so there are also some photos of Victoria Harper dating others. You'll know how trashy she truly was."
Then, loads of photos of Amelia's mother being with other men popped up on the screen.
"Oh my! That's indeed Victoria Harper!"
"These don't look fake, though. They do look like photos from years ago. Was Victoria such disloyal?"
"Who is that man? How could they do such things behind Mr. Harper?"
The guests were even more shocked after they saw the photos.
Amelia was almost crazy in such a situation.
"Bella! Stop! That must be fake!"
She cried and yelled, trying to stop Bella, but Delilah clenched on her.
Charles, who was standing next to her, was silent with a long face. He looked like a dead man at this moment.
Bella continued to expose the shocking photos.
She showed some other photos after the old photos.
"Now we have known what kind of woman Amelia's mother was. My poor father has been cheated by that woman for so many years. He loves the daughter of that woman so, but how should that bastard be made to pay my father back?"
After this, she sneered again.
"Amelia's behaviors prove a biology theory."
"The adopted children always have the same nature as that of their biological parents, not their adoptive parents."
"Therefore, my father and mother have been educating Amelia sincerely, and she also looks like a noble girl, but actually, she's living a trashy life just like her mother."
"She likes gigolos. Look at what she has done! I feel ashamed of her!"
When she said this, she kept clicking.
On the screen, there were photos of Amelia talking and drinking with all kinds of different men. Those ambiguous photos shocked everyone.
"No! It's unbelievable!"
"The good daughter of the Harper family is such a trashy woman!"
"Look at those photos. How shameless. That's disgusting."
"Children are always like their parents. The daughter of that woman is also as shameless as her mother."
"Poor Charles! They tricked him all along."
The guests were discussing and felt pity on Charles.
"It's not real! It's all fake!" Amelia couldn't bear to be slandered by Bella like this.
She shouted and suddenly shrugged off Delilah's grab, rushing to Bella.
"Don't push me. Dad! Help me!"
Just when Amelia's hand touched Bella's body, Bella shouted out of fear all of a sudden.
Then with a loud thud, she fell on the ground, closed her eyes, and looked lifeless.
